  1. Im real bored at the mo. Anyone got any ideas for making a website? Something that can be done in about 5 hours, anything? Anyone got any ideas?
  2. Ah right I see. Well Im pretty chuffed at the mo, just got insured on my dads vectra 1.8 16v for 600/year. Its 3rd party fire and theft just for while I learn to drive. Just been out for 2 hours its been great Im ok with gear changes and actually driving the car now I think I just need to improve on my manovering - Like bay / reverse parking and erm junctions are something I need to concentrate on. Hope Im passed for Summer
  3. aye im going to get myself an old mini i think. ive just booked my theory test for 25th june so once thats outa the way i think ill just book my practical test. ive got my first driving lesson on monday and im gonna get insured on my mams car tomorrow. so if i keep my driving lessons tight together so like 3 - 4 per week im hoping ill be passed by the end of the school term so im on the roads through summer. while im learning to drive im thinking about getting a car, stripping it and re-building it with soem decent parts ready for when i pass. any one got any opinions on mini stuff? like how hard are they to re-store and modify? how do they handle etc? and also, what would it be like putting a bigger engine in? might do that cos i can insure it for the price of what it is in the log book but have whatever engine in the bay.
  4. I had this idea a while back but what about an auction website (similar to that of ebay) but one thats dedicated to trials only? I know this forums got its own feedback system but I think a totally seperate auction system would work well - I think an auction type thingy would offer more flexibility to users and be an easier and more efficient way of selling their stuff. EDIT: I forgot to say how youd make profit hah. I wouldnt go charging fees or anything at first cos youd wanna build up your sites traffic first but I guess you could use banner ads of some sort to cover your hosting? Then actually start making a profit later on in the sites life when youve got a decent number of members by bringing in fees.
  5. Right Ive just checked the insurance via gocompare and the cheapest I got was around 2800 fully comp on my own policy with no lies. Im gonna try it in terms of being on my dads policy now and see what its like. Although to be honest Id rather have my own policy to build up no claims. Ive just got a quote for an old mini 1000cc on my own policy 3rd party its 1700 - thats pushing me towards getting a mini now. With one Id also have the extra seating space and I suppose one would be easier to restore than a Spitfire
  6. Ah right doesn't sound too good then - females insurance is cheaper. I'm gonna have a look on some insurance comparison websites now. As you were saying the spitfires handle well - I loved my dads. They're rear wheel drive, so it makes it loads of fun especially in the wet! The only thing Ive been looking down upon about the spitfire is the fact that it only has 2 seats. I dunno how well that would go in terms of me going on some road trips and what not.
  7. Ive been looked around the forum a bit and have seen a few different threads dedicated to cars/bikes but havnt seen any for classic cars in general. I know a fair few people on here own or have owned a classic car and show and interest in them. So to begin - Im currently learning to drive and Ive been thinking about getting an oldish car, something with a bit of class. I quite like the Triumph Spitefire 1500 at the moment although I did like the Minis you see them quite a bit. I want something that isnt seen as much and is more unique sort of thing. http://classiccarsales.ie/files/cars/image...39317d3810b.jpg Anyone else got any thoughts on this for a first car?
  8. What about buying tickets for things like music concerts and when they're sold out sell them on eBay for a bit more so as to make a profit. I would think there are laws on this sort of thing but I have seen it being done before and a few people I know have done it in the past.
  9. isnt that illegal? or theres some law on it im sure?.....
  10. Hmmm, maybe I'm wrong then. I just guessed there would have been a fair bit of money in it, if you had the financial backing in the start. Very complex though I suppose, what with all the laws etc.
  11. Just been thinking, although you'd have to be old enough to do it and what not, the porn industry seems very profitable. If you're doing everything legal you should be fine, 'cos you don't need your own models, you can just use referral links or some sort of advertising (such as video streaming sites - they have high set-up costs, but once every thing's in place you can just pretty much sit back and watch advertising costs come in). As I've said, you're too young at the moment but I've always seen the porn industry as being a highly profitable place, and very open to expansion, despite the high levels of competition.
  12. You could do delivery for your local takeaway? I know that's kind of a job but it's pretty laid back, speaking of which, does anyone have any idea on the laws of becoming a motorcycle delivery person (as in for a pizza shop e.t.c)? I've had a brief look on the net, only thing I really found was that I need business type insurance, is there anything else I'd need? (note: Unless it's classed as a 'courier' service, I'm pretty sure I don't need courier insurance, could be wrong though?)
  13. This is off topic slightly in that it isn't really an idea but who else would like to see a new skin available in the skin selector option? I personally don't like this skin that much and feel it would be more personal to users if they had a choice between skins. I know skins can cost money but Tom and Danny are rich from the banner ads so they'd have no problem with forking out for a couple of new skins. So... what do people think?
  14. Good idea but I think if it was profitable it would probably have been done before. As has been said, to do it ideally you'd need to own a trials shop and no doubt if you do, you're not going to have the time to be travelling around in a van with all your gear in, to different trials events.
  15. Sorry to hear about it. I hate people that think they have the right to steal your shit. I got burgled a few times a while back, for my bikes. The first time my shed wasn't really up to much, so the thieves just unscrewed the hinges and used my hacksaw to cut the chains, then took off with 3 pedal bikes and 2 motorbikes. I then made the shed more secure, never been burgled in that shed since. I've got a shed round my back garden though, which some thieves attempted to steal my Gasgas motorbike out of, they done it during the day too (good time for robbery really as everyone in my street was at work or out)... they ripped the fence off the back, then ripped the planks of wood off the back of the shed, snapped the frame of the shed, lifted four push bikes chained together out of the way, then got to the Gasgas but it had a U-lock on the rear wheel so they left with nothing. Can't imagine what it must be like having your own house/living area robbed though, as you've said, to think the sum bags have had their hands all over your pad, and went through all your personal shit. As far as police go, they're shit... although I don't suppose there's much they can do in most cases. Hope everything goes back to normal for you soon dude, such as shit situation to be in.
  16. Prodigy - Breathe. Haven't heard it in a while - good song.
  17. What was the lecture about bender?
  18. Yeah. Hopefully get myself a job over summer. As for staying up till school - f**k this, I'm going to bed till half 8.
  19. Ah I see. A lot of people seem to find work in supermarkets part time during 6th form, I'm gonna get myself an application sheet for a few places like ASDA, Tesco and Somerfield etc. Just got back from taking my friend to work, I'm f**ked to say the least. Got school at 9AM, think I'll go get myself a breakfast at Mcdonalds soon.
  20. Haha cheers for all the info. Yup seems there isn't that many people active in the LNC tonight. I've got to take a friend to work for 7am, involving me being at his house at half 6, resulting in me getting up at 6. Then school at 9AM. Wonder if it's worth getting any sleep, I'll only be able to sqeeze in about an hour really. By the way, how do you activate this anonymous status thing?
  21. Yeah that long-term shit is the way I need to start thinking. Did you guys have part time jobs at 6th form? ...or just EMA/parents?
  22. I've got to be up for school at 6.
  23. Yeah that long-term thing is what my parents keep saying to me. I find 6th form hard going as I'm living off 10 quid per week EMA, and I'm considering quiting after this year (June) and getting a bog standard full time job to pay for my lifestyle. Although my parents keep pushing me towards uni... I just don't know which way to go. My wise side says uni but my young adventurous side says full time work, as a lot of my mates do, and are able to fund cars etc.
