I heard it's utter shit. Lad from work tested it on his Virgin "faster than the speed of light costs the earth" connection.
  2. That sentence you just posted means f**k all. If she meeting up with the guy to shag him or is she going shopping with a gay?

    Whats The Logo

If they only paid £15 and the grips and pedals are worth £16, bargain!
  4. In 2011 I got together with one lass, binned her, got together with another one which is ticking along nicely, started climbing again which is amazing, started weigh training again which is slowly improving, cut down massively on my drinking, stopped smoking (then started again, then stopped again, then started again, but stopped properly about 6 weeks ago and seem to have stopped for good this time), moved from little student halls into proper grown up flat. Oh, got a job, which is going fairly nicely. Rating, I dunno, 8-9/10.

Dude, you're having a laugh surely? This post can't be serious? I'm yet to see a decent set of headphones in HMV. And I've never heard good stuff about these pop-star approved ones that seem to be everywhere at the moment. I got Goldring DR50s for £25 and as long as you plug them into an amp and not a phone/laptop, they sound pretty decent to me.
  6. The plural of genius is not genius. Back you go young pedant.
  7. Doesn't matter. Anywhere local has a man with a laptop, if you post it off to a big name, they have labs where they can remove the discs from the hard drives and read them that way.
  8. Whatever you do, don't trust a local shop. If you're going to pay anyone to recover the data, send it off to someone big. I think Freecom used to offer a dedicated service for sorting this kinda thing out.
  9. Lawl, looks like it would actually fetch about £400. f**k. That. Might as well keep it and run it into the ground if that's all it's worth.
  10. No need, I have it saved, and it's also on my Photobucket account for added backup.
  11. I am in no doubt that it can be resurrected, just might need a few new bits. Might as well post this here for reference, nothing to do with the above post whatsoever, but I'm thinking of selling my biggest computer. It's very fast, burns a lot of electricity, is worth a fair bit and never does anything. No idea what it's worth though. Maybe £600 at a guess. (Half the price of the money I've spent on it in the last 2 years?) AMD Phenom II 965BE, 8gb DDR3, Gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H motherboard, two ATI 5830s, 650w PSU, 1tb HDD, many mods and fettlings done, no OS.
  12. I was hoping for blow by blow updates more than hoping to be of help. Never tried pouring a pint of water into my computer to see what would happen before...
  13. I'm not about at all tonight mate, so won't be checking here. Feel free to test me, but can't promise I'll be prompt with replies, got a lot on.
  14. I've never seen no signs of life at all, apart from with either a knackered PSU or the power button packing in. (Finding that particular fault was fun). To rule out the button, just short the pins on the motherboard with the blade of a knife that the switch normally plugs into.
  15. Good luck with it man. Sorry I haven't been around to help much recently. Do you have another PC to test parts in? I'd test PSU last and on something that doesn't really count for anything (so if it kills that motherboard as well, meh).
  16. Never heard of a volume lock within Windows. Laptops aren't really known for volume though, in fact they're known for the opposite. Sounds like you just need something beefier to play the music on.
  17. From my experience, filters can only do so much. I have them on mine, and it's up on the desk but I still have to clean it roughly once ever 6 months.
  18. Basically, inside an external drive, there is an internal drive. Little super portables (USB only) use laptop drives, and thus are limited to 1tb at the moment. Big ones that need extra power have desktop drives, and thus are generally 2tb-3tb. I recommend the Samsung S2 1tb USB3 portable. I have one, it's a year old, it cost £84 and costs £107 now because of the hard drive shortages, but I've seen speeds of 100mbps+ in real world transfers. (Films). USB2 drives max out at about 35mbps. Sorry for the short replies earlier, I was at home, and thus wasn't getting paid the write them.
  19. Oh. Didn't read properly. No difference really. I have a 500gb wall powered one and a 1tb USB only one, the 1tb is actually faster, quieter and bigger. Guess it's just because it's newer.
  20. External can be taken anywhere, internal cannot. Internal is fast, external is slow (unless it's USB3 and you have USB3 ports on your computer). Internal is usually cheaper. 500mb? Assuming you meant 500gb, that's still a small amount of gb these days, I'd go for nothing less than 1tb now.
  21. BAN NOOBS FEEL SEXY. (No homo). Maybe I was comparing you to me back then, I'm a good 2.5-3 stone heavier now...
  22. Because when it's on the floor, it hoovers up all the dust that gets kicked up by your feet/chair moving near it. That'll be why the inside of your case was dustier than my Granny's fanny when the computer itself was brand new a year ago.
