  1. I suggest you sign up to the overclockers.co.uk forum mate and get into the Athlon Overclocking Thread. I could tell you the basics now but they'll know all about the general limits for that chip. I only know about the Phenom IIs, and not very much in general. Quick google reveals that they need about 1.36v to reach 3.6ghz. But first of all you should lock everything off in the BIOS. Take everything off Auto and set it manually. You don't have an unlocked multiplier so it's not as simple as it is on the Black Edition chips. To overclock them you just have to change two settings. On yours you're going to have to turn up the FSB then turn down all the multipliers. Got MSN?
  2. I have had no signups at all. Still on 2gb. Bitches...
  3. My other forums don't have nice people! I'm considering making a load of fake email addresses just to get more space.
  4. I ran a Trialtech stem and bars on my Simtra, not stacks. Was perfect for the siddlesze0rzeeeahhoo00rsszzzmayteeee. EDIT: Well it felt perfect to me, but I couldn't sidehop any higher than about 35" when I was riding at my best.
  5. Medical issues? Come to trials-forum.co.uk!
  6. In terms of total power used, that PSU should be fine Ed. You've got an i3 and a GTX260 right? I've got a 965BE C2 (140w) and two 5830s all overclocked to their limit running on a Corsair 650w. Doesn't even get the PSU properly warmed up.
  7. The guy has been told to email a pic, and nothing more. He hasn't even discussed posting it back yet. That's for him to sort with someone from Tarty by some means other than a public forum. Why are people so scared of the phone these days?
  8. Very good points you make, but I still reckon that a 19 year old is safer doing 70 in a 40 than, say, my Granny doing 55. They might be easy to see but the one that should have got me was behind a hedge. That was over 6 months ago but I've had nothing through the door yet.
  9. Hmmm, if I can blag a lift I might well dust the Koxx off. Can't ride for shit any more though, but then that's not the point is it?
  10. I went past a van a few months ago doing some miles an hour in a 30, I think I posted about it in the bike thread but didn't make my own topic. I wasn't whinging about it either. You took a risk, if it goes to shit then just deal with it. Love how many people have been all hgih and mighty about this as well. It was 70 in a 40, not exactly the worst speeding offence ever. He was on a sports bike that'll stop fairly quickly if needed, plus he's young so probably has decent reaction times. Which is safer then, him doing 70 or some old duffer in a metro doing 55?
  11. Tried to reply on Facebook, but my internet is being awful tonight so looks like my replies aren't getting through. Basically that card is more for HTPC purposes. It'll handle HD video whilst using a tiny amount of electricity and kicking out a tiny amount of heat, but it's not exactly gutsy. I'd say a 4650 is your minimum, or buy a cheapo card to stick in the PC at home and bring the 8500GT up. Have you been coshing it much though Ed? Tried running Prime95 while also running a GPU intensive benchmark? Just to kick seven bells out of the PSU. I'd recomend the Unigine Tropics benchmark alongside Prime95 personally. The Unigine Heaven benchmark is also a good one, but it's far more demanding so the framerates won't go as high as with Tropics.
  12. I had an ATI 4670. Got it for about £50. It was very impressive for the price. Next step up would be a GTX460 or 560 I reckon, anything higher might be limited by your CPU.
  13. Check you haved the graphics drivers installed, and check they're the latest ones.
  14. Fair doos mate, and no, no I do not. I don't have any spares really.
  15. Definitely sounds power, heat or driver related to me. First thing I'd try would be to wipe Windows and reinstall. Got a spare hard drive though you could install it on for testing? I keep an old 40gb IDE for exacty that. Next I'd find some fairly local nerdy b*****d, possibly living in Sheffield, with a working rig, and see if you can wack the graphics card in that, and one of his in yours. Maybe? BTW what socket was your 4400? 939? I need to check my spec list again but I might be after one before long for my Aunty's computer.
  16. In. I see crafty mod edits...
  17. Can it not go any higher than that? Would require a hefty vcore but I think Q6600s are good up to 1.55v for daily use? Fair enough, good plan though. Temps are OK for me atm, if they become an issue though I'll get a new case. Thinking Haf X probably or the equivilant at the time.
  18. Pfft that shit ain't water lad, it's fake. Seriously check out rule 9 in the project logs on OCUK. Side by side for Crossfire, I got a second 5830 on ebay for £90 posted, it's running nicely so far! None of the microstutter or other scary issues people talk about. I got another of the Powercolor ones. They use a 5870 reference and cooler, so even when they're running as high as I can clock them, they never get close to their max temp. I fancy water cooling, but it would be wasted on me. I can improve my air cooling anyway should I need to, but at the moment it's enough to deal with everything running the maximum recommended voltages. CPU limited in some stuff now (Crysis), so the next upgrade after an SSD would be a 1055t/1100t and a water cooling loop for it, but that'd cost £500, so I can't be arsed. I'd do better sticking to air cooling and getting a Sandy Bridge setup!
  19. Ah reet, fair doos. That's why I run 3.7ghz for day to day rather than 3.8ghz, as it needs a silly voltage bump to get it stable so the CPU fan makes loads more noise under load. I thought the CPU-NB on those chips could be boosted to over 3000mhz? Get your cooling sorted man! I can just about max this system on air cooling (if I remove the front panel), but in the same case (Antec 300 right?) you should definitely be on water. If you removed the HDD bays and suspend the HDDs in the 5.25" bays, then you get less noise an more space. I've got enough room in mine for one of the the thick 240 rads in mine. No, never used SiSoft Sandra. As for getting your 1m scrore up, I'm using W7 64bit. At my highest clocks I get about 17.3secs on it, but to be honest it's just a shit test for AMD chips, there are far better ones out there now. Couple of shitty phone pics of my desk at my uni flat. I recently got another graphics card so I've been overclocking and benchmarking a lot this last week or so. For those that care, stock settings are 3.4ghz CPU, 2000mhz CPU-NB, 1333mhz RAM, 2000mhz HT Link, 825/1050 graphics cards. For daily use I run it at 3.7ghz CPU, 2600mhz CPU-NB, 1333mhz RAM, 2000mhz HT-Link, 875/1100 graphics cards, and for benching at 3.8ghz CPU, 2800mhz CPU-NB, 1333mhz RAM, 2000mhz HT-Link, 900/1125 graphics cards. The reason I don't overclock the RAM or HT-Link is that they've given pretty tiny increases in performance in the past.
  20. Not pushed it further yet then? Have you overclocked the CPU-NB mate? Just pushed mine from the stock 2000mhz to 2800mhz, saw some OK gains in game benchmarks. Went from 67fps to 73fps in the DiRT2 benchmark.

    Android Apps

Every facebook app I've used is shit. All I want is one that checks for updates every 5 mins or so then alerts me when I have one, like the Twitter app. Anyone know of one?
