  1. I had one of those multitools, it was the worst thing I've ever used. Both allen keys rounded off first time I tried them, and the bottle opener snapped off the first time I tried that, and the spoke key was such a pissy fit that it rounded nipples before they got anywhere near tight.

I just listed a load of bands that I thought he might like, sorry for trying to help!
  3. I asked the guys at Tarty about this a year or so ago, and they said that they found the Hope Mono Trial rotors work best, because the pads in a Mono Trial are really deep, so you need a rotor with a deep surface to get the best out of it. That said I've got a Gusset one on the front, it seems OK, but not as powerful as a Mono Trial one, but it offers more modulation. The Monty rotors are supposed to be good, and there are loads of others to choose from, such as the Rockman ones. Mono Trials have had the same caliper since they came out as far as I'm aware, for 05 and 06 they used the original Hope Mini lever, and the 07 and 08 ones use a newer lever.
  4. Mate, Alex is right, those frames were weak when they were new.
  5. Your bar and stem combo make more difference to the way the bike feels than the wheelbase, try a shorter stem first?

    Postman Pat

I actually went out with the card once just after he posted it through the door and caught up with him, asked for my parcel, he said it wouldn't fit in the van. How did it not fit in the van? It was virtually empty as I pointed out to him, he was just like, "Hey it's not my problem, the post office is open 12:30-1:00 on weekdays," What sort of help is that? It's worse now though, the post office has shut down now, the nearest one is over half an hours walk away. The one our post actually comes from is over an hour and a half away, so if we were "out" at the time, I think it goes to the nearest one, but it wouldn't surprise me if I had to make a 3 hour expedition to pick up a pair of socks. (It's coming upto christmas).

    Guitaristssssss!

I always preferred the Pacificas, I once borrowed a 112 for about a year from someone. The neck is quite a bit slimmer than on the Squire Strats, which is one of the main reasons I loved it so much.
  9. Block up one end of the bar, slide the grip onto the other end of the bar as far as you can, attach a pump, pump the handle fast while pulling the grip on. Usually needs two people. I've heard of another method I want to try, put a load of zip ties inside the grip so you can slide the grip easily onto the bar, then just pull the ties out.
  10. Whats the biggest rotor you can fit on it then?
  11. Yes he did! In order to reduce the drag.
  12. Yeh I knew that, my point was really was really that he's driving a brand new car at bonneville, which apparantly is really hot, and then he tapes up the holes that feed air to the intercooler/radiators? Pretty stupid thing to do really.
  13. Ask them to hold it until Saturday or something? Get someone to wait in at your house?
  14. I pissed myself when they were holding up all the traffic on the bridge, but there were loads of good bits, James going fast, James crashing, setting off the car alarms and Richard taping up the front of his £20+k car to stop the air going in.
  15. Your last topic said you wanted a lighter bike? Zoo parts are all really heavy I think.
  16. Why not buy a second hand bike? I'm selling a bike now for £600 that would cost well over £1300 to build up, and it only has a couple of things wrong with it.
  17. Got any pics of it from the old days Nick?
  18. My mate had the same problem, that problem was that the tapers on his cranks got so badly worn that the crank bolt bottomed out on the BB. If they've been run loose, then you need new cranks because the tapers will be shot. Not all BBs need the spacers on the end By the way, and not all ISIS cranks bottom out onto the end of the BB. Take the BB out and try to work out what it is, then you'll be able to tell whether it needs the spacer. Either way it sounds like new cranks time to me.
  19. A few means 3 or more, so they should have arrived by now.
  20. It's piss easy on a fixie, just ride along and hop the rear wheel in the air, then lock your legs out as you land. Looks like it could work, but you'd have to give it some stick to get it off, the only way I've ever got screw on sprockets and freewheels off is to stick the chain/tool in the vice and stick my 6 foot bar on the crank arm, never fails.
  21. Saved me 75g, then I cut the knobbles and saved another 130g. I haven't gone that far on the Kot though, the tyres with half the knobbles missing just look gay.
  22. Get a lighter frame, Zona Frames are 2.3kg, as far as I know they're the heaviest Mod frames going.
  23. How did I know you'd go and do that. High bars are the future! I think they might actually be higher than mine. The XC bike is really smart as well.
  24. Looking good Matt, good to see you've sen the light.
  25. I had a Tensile for 2 years, I never had any trouble with it. I also had a Monty one, I didn't like it very much. It worked fine, it just didn't feel as solid as a Tensile.
