    Films!?

I'll be controversial too! Reservoir Dogs bored me shitless. Everyone raves about it, but I thought it was awful.
  2. Nahhh, there's always been argumentative wankers in trials. I remember the whole TGS vs Comp/natural riders battle before Inspired was even born.

Also just rent. Our monthly bills are about £200 on top of that.
  4. Ah yeh I guess, but even if it's as high as 50% who are costing more than they contribute, that still means this new test is harder for the other 50% who are decent people. Just seems like a solution that isn't precise enough. It'll make the entire group's lives harder in an attempt to filter out the scum. (Ignoring of course that people who head over here for a life of crime are more likely to come in illegally). Still bordering on f**kwittery IMO.

You should all move north. We're paying £350 for a 1 bedroom flat (but pretty roomy for a 1 bed) pretty much in the center of Sheffield. The other day I spotted a 2 bedroom (both large double rooms) with a big lounge and separate kitchen for £395 a month. Would have gone for it but it was too far into the sticks in the wrong direction.
  6. Prove it? It's a reasonable assumption to make IMO, 11% (371,000 of the 7,012,000 migrants here) is mentioned in loads of sources. If that many are claiming some form of benefits, then the other 89% aren't?
  7. 11% of foreign born people are on the dole, meaning 89% are not. You can assume then, that this will only serve to upset 89% of people who are trying to come here to make a better life. Genius? It's bordering on total f**kwittery of the highest order, sir! No idea how real it is to be honest, maybe the BNP set it up in an attempt to put people off from coming here.
  8. It's rediculous, it's so hard even British citizens can't pass it, so how is anyone else going to pass it?
  9. Step 1: Take the test: http://www.ukcitizenshiptest.co.uk/ Step 2: Vote to say whether you passed. Step 3: Comment on how ridiculous it is.
  10. This. At first I thought, "wtf?". Then I thought, "seriously, wtf?".
  11. Cheers dude, will bear it in mind.
  12. I'm not working, I'm at uni, but the answer is roughly 3 months if I don't run to Daddy. When I was working last it was about the same.
  13. Theoretically yes, but so to HDDs. I remember one guy saying that in the last year, a far higher percentage of HDDs sold in the last 3 years were returned to his shop than SSDs. Basically they'll all tend to last for a few years, at least until they are obsolete. I'd have 2 internal drives and re-use the external as a backup drive, because external drives are generally rather slow.
  14. Possibly, possibly. Depends what offers I get and how much kit I can borrow! I still need axes, crampons, trousers, a down jacket, winter sleeping bag, decent stove, decent headtorch, better bag and so on, and so on... Good thing I have some simply amazing mates to scrounge off.
  15. It's all gone round here now, but should still be good in the mountains for a while yet. Hopefully I'll get to use them before the winter has gone. I believe conditions are still good in areas of Scotland, just need to blag a lift from someone!
  16. My helpful contribution, my setup: Ideally a backup in there too. I'd say go for a 128gb SSD as a minimum. I have 128gb Crucial M4s in my desktop and laptop (don't recommend them, nothing wrong with mine but recent firmware issues). I install most of my programs to the SSD, because I want things to boot fast. However, my Steam folder is 60gb so that won't fit.
  17. I rather enjoyed that. Not normally the stuff I enjoy on Top Gear, I want to see more adventures!
  18. Well, standard 1275 makes 69ft/lb, so it clearly is enough lol, especially if you consider that the Bandit is only 67 ft/lb stock. With mods it could easily generate more torque than a 1275. Depends what you want from it really, if I ever build a mini I won't really care what it does over 60mph, I'll have big bikes for that. I want something that handles like a go-kart, sounds like a bike and makes twisty roads below 50mph as fun as they are on a little bike. Maybe I'd be better off with a 1275 then thinking about it...
  19. I spoke to a guy who used to race Minis, who reckons anything over 100bhp made them too unruly to really thrash in the twisties. Bandit 12s are only 100bhp stock anyway, with a loud can and a few tiny mods, they're 120bhp. Anyway, the oil cooled Suzuki engine (Bandit 1200 being the last incarnation) is one of the most easily turbo'd engines I know of. With a smallish turbo and IC, and a lowered CR you can get 250bhp with a pretty decent torque curve on them. They are also arguably the most reliable bike engine to have ever produced over 100bhp stock, apart from the Hayabusa. You can easily get 145bhp out of them, just stick GSXR1100 cams and carbs on them, but it ruins the torque at low RPM.
  20. You guys do realise that you can just close these things and not watch them?
  21. I've still never seen a Bandit 1200 engined mini. No idea why. With some super basic mods they can make 120bhp, maximum torque at 3500rpm but with bags spread out across the rev range, and relatively strong clutches and gearboxes. I believe the issue would be that they're physically quite big, and that the chain would foul on the gear changing mechanism, but I'm sure they could be overcome with the use of a cunning plan.
  22. These are mine now. Oh so very happy, they're £350 normally, I paid £178. Now just need to get in the mountains to find some ice!
