Things I learned from that post; 1. Those LMP-1 cars are insane 2. 4:25 - wat r u doin 3. The Corvettes sound unreal, did they go for 50s gasser zoomies when it came to exhaust choice? 4. that Mario comparison

Had its moments, but it's not what you really need on a public forum.

Just had a proper look over the pics in this thread - you absolute tart. Looking dang fine.

Absolute joker - he's been dragging me through the mud with it on Retro Rides as well, despite being nice and perfectly reasonable with me and even saying 'I won't make a big deal out of it, let's move on' - gave him his deposit back as i'm a nice guy, and he's switched into an arsehole of incomprehensible magnitude, I've been with the car today, couldn't get a screwdriver through the inner wings, manages to jab a 2p hole in the inner sill with a lot of effort, the rear spring hangers he considered dangerous were clearly repaired a LONG time a go and are solid, he's an idiot. The car's only got 3 months test left and is advertised as being mechanically sound needing remedial work to the body, bit scruffy but cheap and quick at around £300 over the value of the running gear and interior. Quote of the day when he came to view it - 'the head gaskets are leaking, this won't make the drive home' He was pointing at a very small amount of dry old oil around the rocker covers... Bellend. I've got another guy coming to view the car monday who isn't an absolute dreamer, i'm going to go to town on him when it sells.

Capri buyer has decided to report me/ the car to VOSA for 'clearly having a bent MOT' because the inner wing was a bit crusty. Fun.

I love that picture.

Try and get your arse on/ over the back wheel with your arms straight, you'll be alright. Practice, practice practice! And The Manual Dream.

Man bun m8, sort it out I don't think that has ever been more appropriate - that was an exact representation of me on Sunday morning. We looked at the map today, I did between one and two hundred miles on a chassis that was supported by 3" of 2mm steel on the top of the box section, a steering arm, and the wings/ bonnet leaning against the bulkhead (that also collapsed). Scary. I was wondering how I was gonna tactfully describe the car as a turd but there's no way around being honest now

You and me both mate - got back about 6 hours a go and am now back to sitting on my own, eating a shit dinner in my room because all my housemates are hiding. I guess it's just some backward motivation to crack on and do what we'd rather be doing more! PS; the Ash/Bisi/Mystery Intruder episode in Coventry was comedy f**king gold of the highest order.

Dang good trip. Went over to Spain to pick up this weapons-grade shitter of a Series 3 to bring it circa 650 miles across the country to get it back to England via a really long ferry journey. Picked up car; Went clubbing, got a hangover; Took a scenic route through central Spain; Snapped the front off the chassis (same both sides); Did 200 very cautious miles like that until we found a welder to borrow; Came home;

8000 miles or something? You won't do more than that in a year... And if you do, you can get the clocks out and rewind a few miles in an afternoon. Not that i've ever done that, of course Dan's sort of got a point about fuel, but if you want a fun car you just need to accept it'll cost a few quid more to run it than a modern - however, you'll struggle to lose a lot of money on the car itself so that's something in favour. I got near 30mpg on a run cruising at 60 (mine's a 4 speed with a bucket and chuck it carb, gets down to mid-high teens around town) but if you got one with a Zetec or something it'd beat that consistently regardless of where you're driving it. Fun cars are a luxury, you just accept the running costs and roll with it. For the sake of a few quid every fill up, i'll put vpower in it because it's just not a regular car... Does make sense to have ti as a second car if you can, but it's more than viable to use daily if you want to.

My 3.0 modified to around 180bhp is £350 fully comp at 21 (22 now) with 2 years NCB, parked in the street with my girlfriend on the policy. You sound thoughtful... It's up for sale again as all the bits for mine have arrived the day after this turned up - typical. Had a guy offer to put a holding deposit down within 5 minutes of it going up at £3250 - it's worth that in parts all day long and has test til September. Will need welding in the next few years, but find me one that doesn't! A lot of car for not a lot money, i've not seen one on the road this cheap in years so it made sense to have it when it came up, even if it can't stay.

I'm used to having to wait about 2 months, which is f**king long but it's not three quarters of a year.

I f**king hate working for magazines, their concept of pay and timescales is skewed beyond belief. It's May, and i'm paying out circa £500 to go to Spain tomorrow and drive a motor back for them. Just got the article schedule through (aka when i'm gonna get paid for this) - my one? January. f**king January. 8 months. What the f**k.

We got change from £2k... Full 2.8i running gear underneath it, so Bilstein suspension, half decent brakes, nice interior, good motor all in all - just starting to suffer from tin worm and a friend of ours needed it gone quick to fund some stuff. And Luke, mine's going stage 3 Essex V6. Correct engine, period mods, should be nice. Whenever I sort the fuelling out, be it 4 barrel carb or injection it should be similar in power to this one, so 210-220bhp which, after driving this, is more than enough for a Capri.
-
Mine's still not fixed, this came up cheap, we bought it. 2.9 Cosworth, does skids a lot.
-
That's green, stealth mode failed.
-
How the f**k did you manage that?
-
What a careful previous owner.

Dan, they look f**king awful. Please don't.
