  1. I think kids today would just bitch about how "shocking" it rides. I'd love to try it though. Leon
  2. A short echo/zoo is probably still 1060+ He means old school short, zebdi, zero, heavytools Leon
  3. What he said The bigger the disc rotor, the more powerful.....a rim is essentially a massive rotor which is barely affected by grease/dirt, you can't grind a disc, you can't use tar. If it's not powerful enough you're just stuck with it. A disc will never ever hold as tight as a rim brake, You need to ride a bike with a good magura on it, then you wont want a disc. Leon
  4. I dont like them on the front either. If your mates are constantly splitting hoses then that's more down to carelesness or bad luck, I can't remember the last time i split a hose, If you set up a good one and just leave it, you'll be fine. In my experience it's the young teens with little mechanical experience who neglect & abuse things then brand them "shocking" once they stop working Leon
  5. You must have had an old wrecked or a dodgy one for that to happen, i've been riding 11 years and probably used 20+ hs33's, and I've only had tpa's break and the odd lazy piston. Fork out & get a decent one Leon
  6. Bb7 seem pretty safe long as the cables & caliper are well looked after, I've seen some good, and some that will barely even lock. I don't like maguras on the front, but on the rear, if you buy a good one you can't go wrong. I'm just not a disc fan, but the bb7 seems the least hassle. I've had a louise, it was ok ish but it'd never hold my weight on a front wheel gap, costs 3x what a v does and has much more to go wrong. Leon
  7. I've never used a disc that I felt was powerful enough, if you can't live without stoppies or weigh 7 stone then get one. But In my experience a v with a bit of tar is something a disc can't compete with, discs are more stressful on forks, can't handle any grease or dirt accidentally getting on them. On the rear, a magura can't be beaten, and Imo, a smear of tar beats a grind anyday. Depends what you like get an avid sd7 Leon

    Chain Problem

Skanky ring syndrome. Your old skanky chain worked with your old skanky ring because they were both skanky, it's 1 or the other, replace the lot or nothing Leon
  10. is it on pinkbike aswell? That'll get double the views, i'm sure some little cock on there will criticise it though. But that is the best vid ever, i cried a bit Leon
  11. Do you have eyes? lol It is a barracuda, hence the "B" cut out of it. Leon

    New Marino

Cheers, the colour came out as planned! I'm not sure on these f**king wounds, on my 5th lot of drugs now, dying to ride, believe me... you'll know when i'm ready Leon
  13. Hi mate, the pro 2 wheel will be more suitable, but will probably cost you twice as much as a bulb/xc wheel. Leon

    New Marino

Final build, rides to perfection Added a funn skinny rl camo seat (best looking seat ever, everyone's sold out!) and a dmr conrod stem 90 x 15 Absolute heaven, sod 24" Leon

    Euro Bb

I "think" euro is the thread size/type. 68-73 is just the width of the shell, they'll both take the same bb's. In the uk we all use euro bb. If its for a Marino frame then yes you ask for euro Leon
  16. Well that's just stupid and misleading lol Leon
  17. 121 is nothing like a 521, It's slightly narrower, shallower and eyelts are much bigger inside. i have an unused one 121 has much beefier eyelets that go right inside through both walls. And a d521 is 28.5mm wide, not 21 Leon
  18. It didn't have a bb drop, the only issue was the tyre clearance, it should have had a yoke like a zebdi. Other than that it was a proper street riders dream. You can set up maguras fine with 2 bolt mounts especially now with the evo 2 mounts so 4 bolt mounts just means more idiots stripping threads, plus some people wanna use v brakes without scummy v adapters hanging off 4 bolt mounts. The kids of today aren't gonna care about the old zero they just want another long gay thing to sidehop on. Seat, v mounts, decent frame size so using a seat is worthwhile. If it's gonna end up as just another long low thing make sure they call it something else, I don't think the original zero would be impressed. [attachment=32946:DSCF00003.JPG
  19. And Jimbo, the original geo was 1025 wb, not sure on head angle but it was really slack meaning very short reach, same wheelbase as a zebdi, but it rode completely different. I reckon i've had 6-7 of each in the last 5-6 years Leon

    New Marino

Cheers people, i was actually gonna use my post n a proper seat but i miscalculated and chose a very slack seat angle, so im gonna have t o check seat/tyre clearance once a seats on there, after i file out the huge burr lol. Even the mini seat's clearing the the tyre by 2-3mm!. I paid by western union, its a bit weird but he got the money within 10 mins in peru. You can do it in alot of newsagents, chemists, cash converter type places. Leon

    New Marino

Got it today! BB thread all good, headtube all good, brake mounts all good! The dropouts are a little thin like all owners say but my hollow hope skewer ends compensated for it. My geo is.... 1015wb (which he got spot on) 395mm stays 71 deg head angle -10mm bb V brake mounts Machined Hollow head tube Modelled on a norco/zero, feels spot on! but I can't test it for a while as i'm stil healing so can only roll around a bit. Doesn't weigh anywhere near as much as I thought it would so don't let that put you off. Total cost was about £180 including a £20 odd western union fee. Leon
  22. It shouldn't have "up to date geo" the geo is what makes it a zero, sort the tyre clearance out & it's fine. People who want a long low silver thing already have hundreds of frames to choose from, people like me who want a short proper street bike have about none to choose from, pretty much forced to find old zebdis or get a custom frame built. So let's keep the wheelbase at 1025 Plus how stupid would that downtube look with 60+mm inches added to it. I'd buy it if it rode the same, but stretching it to 1080 is just stupid, i'd rather it stay a legend than get made into some tgs thing Leon
