    My Zebdi

These aren't the new azonics, they're the old shape B-52 bars, nice enough but not quite what azonic used to be, I wont touch any of the 2009 azonic bars, but you probably saw my topic on that...lol It rides the same as every other zebdi I've owned in the last 7 years, which is a good thing I'm not gonna get a proper seat, it's weight, it's in the way and I never sit down. Skoze ssshhh I'm not quite riding yet but very soon next 2-3 weeks, I'm almost healed! Leon

May be hard to believe.....but i'm riding a zebdi Leon
  4. You don't strip a hub everytime it skips lol, if it's a big loud 1 which instantly makes the hub roll badly then take it apart, but a big part of alot of hubs skipping is people pissing about with them, stripping as soon as they buy it to make it louder/take the grease out. Anything's good if looked after properly, i got 10 years out of my bulb, in which I've seen people chris kings come and go. My mates pr02 skips worse and more frequently than my bulb, so it's not always all good. If you've got the money and don't need gears just buy the pro 2. Just remember the bulb paved away for the pro 2 Leon
  5. All hubs skip, there's no avoiding it, I've seen chris kings skip/fall apart/ worse than any hope I've seen, I've heard pro 2's skip/sound like crap, it's so much load on a tiny system it's impossible to make 1 that's skip free, but if you're using 1 gear and doing hoppy stuff you might as well buy a pro2, they don't cost the earth. As for holding me back, if it skips it skips, I've never been held back because my hub skips, It always holds when it matters.
  6. Yea, it's common sense and feeling when it can go, 9/10 times it'll skip as you put your feet on the pedals and just spin the cranks instead of on anything big. If you're reckless and need an idiot proof hub then go for the pro2, but when I sold my bulbthis year it was 10 years old and on the original axle, plus have you seen the price of hope axles? They're about £11.
  7. No hope rachets are alu, that jus wouldn't work. They're all steel, I've never used a pro 2, i use 8 gears so I've always used bulbs since 1999, the 21 clicks in a mono/xc is not enough, but the 36 in a bulb is fine, anything else is over kill for me personally. I've gone very big in the last 10+ years, I weigh 14 stone and do big drops. I've never broke a single axle, rachets will go now & then, it's a free/cheap repair from hope, They're fine unless you're a real rough b*****d or you're into huge static gaps which wont help it, obv a pro2 (later model) would be best if you don't use a full cassette of gears, but don't listen to anyone saying bulbs are shit as they're idiots, Martyn ashton and alot of the big names used them for years, and before that it was the ti glide, which was a high end cross country hub. Nowdays people use stupidly hard gears and everything's about static moves, so Yes a pro 2 would be a better bet, but to say a bulb is shit is just retarded.
  8. I'm pretty sure (can't be arsed to check) tunnicliffe is a lefty, he goes left too which is why the tuck looks awkward.
  9. Pretty much yea, but I think they should keep the old shape of bar as well as alot of people like it, especially when the the new double walls/single walls are exactly the same shape and almost the same price who the hell's gonna buy the singles? An update to 31.8 was all the old ones needed. I wouldn't mind but there's seriously not a single bar on earth that can match the shape. There's enough used ones at the moment but I don't wanna get used to nasty feeling bars in the future. Leon
  10. Never liked the feel of easton, plenty strong but I've literally used azonics for the best part of 12 years now, the ea70's like most bars i've found dont have enough upsweep after using azonics. Pro tapers are ok but similar sort of problems. Just don't see why they've done it, surely a bar that wide is only needed for tgs type stuff, for street 27-28 has always been fine and I can't see many proper street riders using full size 30 inch bars. I know it's really aimed at dh but i think there's probably more trials riders using them than anything over the past 10+ years, most dh bikes I see have easton/truvativ/raceface etc. All oversize 27/28" jobs. New single walls New B-52 All got that same sloppy down swept shape. Leon
  11. Has anyone else noticed how awful looking they are? I'm talking the 30" wide range with the all new logos and shape, they have more backswep than eastons, ans less upsweep as well, resulting in the feel of just any other average feeling bar, sure they were never the strongest but the shape weas something for the street rider that couldn't be matched, and they've taken away the 2 reasons i loved them, gone is the upsweep, and they've swpt them back way too much. I ordered a set from chain reaction As i could find virtually no reviews or non catalogue pics of them, I sold them within about 2 hours, why change something so good. I'm using the old shape B-52 O.S bars at the mo and they're ok, not quite double wall shape but good enough, but the 2009 b-52 looks horrid as well, they've basically eliminated all the old bars with the nice up sweep, all i wanted was the old double wall in oversize. Anyone else feeling my pain? I know there's other dedicated azonic users on here. Opinions welcome from like minded individuals, not school kids saying "PWNT..GU RULEZ, DENG ***" The old The new You also can't see the amount of back sweep in the pic, which is a hell of alot more than before, and with the big decrease in upsweep it makes for a very pedestrian feeling bar. That will be all. Leon

    Serious Skills

Our scenes been the same here for 12-13 years as we're all 23-26, but the general view i get of the uk scene from the next generation is basically pink rims, skinny jeans and tape measures, almost emo on wheels. Quality vid though. Leon

    Serious Skills

Cos it's all about tape measures, pink rims & skinny jeans now Leon
  14. Yes it will, i've stripped plenty of powder coated original frames/forks, it will ruin what's underneath though..

    Bike Stolen

I sold that bike on here Leon
  16. Go for the biggest tyre clearance possible, i had a 26" one with 2.7 clearance with a 118 bb and 8 gears and I still had miles of clearance. Seems stupid to limit yourself if you dont need to. Agree on the head angle, most important part and I got mine wrong, I like very shallow head angles like the orange zero (about 69deg) I went for 71 to get a good mix but I hated it. Depends how you ride, if you wanna do streety bunny hop stuff then dont bother going for a steep one, 2 degrees will make it feel like a different bike. Leon

    New Danny Mac

"Street trials rider Danny MacAskill performs a serious of spectacular stunts" lol
  19. Mate that frame was never intended to be dirt jumped lol, it's a trials frame from 2002-2003 when long bikes weren't so big. You're thinking of the Jack flash which looked pretty similar but had suspension ready geometry and rode completely different. Leon
  20. street/dj?? Jeeeesus ,have you heard of trials kings? Leon
  21. You can see who the under 18's are lol Leon
