No problem, steel will always dent easier though, even the heavy duty stuff, tubes have to be thinner because of the weight (about 3x alu) So a long tappy hoppy gay bike with long tubes is a bit of a no go, even with heavy duty steel, never mind the light stuff. One slip to downtube and it's terminally damaged. Rings a bell on tf..... Leon

That only really applies to straight tubes, frame are made of tubes that are joined from all angles supporting each other. Steel doesn't just bend all the time, with handle bars the steel ones will get very bent before they break, the brittle alu ones will just go without warning. the frame will only be bent if it's cracked like my old norco did, if you crack a chainstay or seat stay then after a while your rear end will be misaligned. If alu cracks it's pretty much done, if steel's repaired it's just as strong it was, if not stronger. Steel is more forgiving, the alu being more rigid doesn't absorb the shock so much. I'd say advantages would be pretty minimal untilone breaks, steel is infinitely repairable. And it's personal choice too, some people just prefer it. Same as alu you dont want steel too light as there's usually a price to pay, my norco leech frame lasted 6 weeks from brand new, which i think is disgusting even if it was the price of a marino, let alone the actual cost of £500+ You cant really compare the inspired (top quality alu and pretty much good as it gets) to Marino who's using budget steel, nothing flash, but making the most of it. If he had reynolds 725 tubing or something much lighter you would definitely notice a difference. I understand leeson use high quality steel but I've never had 1 as I really dont like the look of them. Leon

Shit cranks break ankles like that. Middleburns cant be beaten. Leon

You might aswell go for the biggest tyre clearance poss, not sure how it'd affect a 24" but on my 26" I could run 8 gears on a 118mm bb and the chain was nowhere near the tyre & chainline was fine. Plus the rear end was not exactly inch perfect so it's a good thing i had the huge clearance. Leon

There's already inbetween bikes like the ashton, shorter dengs, free trials etc, and there's endless long frames, there's nothing ultra short anymore. Lengthening the frames WILL compromise the ride, i bet if you added 10mm to an inspired it would feel like a different bike, not in a good way You can sidehop a zebdi, it just wont be as high as a gu typhoon You can 360 a set of stairs on a zebdi.....show me that on a gu. You cant have it all and shorter bikes are a better compromise, trials kings had all the street moves but could also sidehop roadside railings, back wheel a good height, while long bikes are terrible for anything that doesn't involve pedalling. You cant please everyone, some people love high bb, some people cant stand it. Zebdis are cult frames, Petr kraus was world champion on a zero.....so they cant ride that bad, they're obviously just not for you.
-
Xc bike? Are you serious? Have You never see trials kings? What old school bikes have you owned? I'm 6ft 1, the zebdi/pace/zero era are all roughly 1025, you cant ride proper spinny slick street riding with a big stupid frame flapping about under you. As far as that kind of riding the pashley was about the longest at 1040, after that it becomes all static and slow.
-
If it's designed to be ridden proper streety then that geo is still too far off, 370 stays are way too short, +10 is ok, 1050 wb is too long, an ashton is 1050-1055 and that felt pretty unrideable to me. 1025 +10 385 And whatever a mk4 zebdis head angle was, everyone had one, no one complained about geometry so why change it? it's street enough but still long enough for a decent amount of hoppy shit. Unlike a zero which is the same wheelbase but completely bunnyhop biased. Older more experienced riders who have actually ridden real street....help me out! Leon

I bet if you leant hard enough on those poor double walls they'd spin all the way round Leon

Probably one of the best all round bike riders in the world....

I still think the Zebdi is the best thing that ever happened to street trials in this country, we need something just like it, it was strong enough, a decent size for a seat, short enough, light enough. Hoppy deng kids are spoilt for choice and dont give a shit because their idea of street is backwheeling a wall without pedalling. I've just unbuilt my marino and rebuilt my zebdi, because nothing can compare. I'm not interested in 24" wheels and it's like we're forced to choose between hoppy shit and 24". I'm sick of 4 bolt mounts tooooo. Leon

Someone copy a zebdi please....every last detail

Right I've used avast as well now, loads of viruses in the virus chest, what do I do now to get them off my pc? I'm assuming it's delete from chest? Just making sure... Leon
-
Yes because discs are really fork friendly.... Leon
-
Got the norco rigids with my norco years ago, they looked so feeble I never used them lol. Leon
-
Pashley forks will outlast most deng forks. They're either tuf guys or the old old norco steel ones, if you broke tough guys then you are one rough b*****d! Leon

Makes no difference what year. Those people got unlucky. Leon

Ok cheers everyone, trying the new avg first. It appears i have a stable full of Trojan horses!! 34 threats so far. If there's still problems i'll use the others listed too. Leon

My pc is pretty sad, it plays radio and music out of nowhere...... I have virus warnings featuring spelling mistakes...... Basically I need some free anti spyware, strongest stuff you got. I know it exists as I've used avg successfully before, kaspersky aswell but this time it wont open because i "haven't uninstalled AVG8" even though i have! Also are there any files that absolutely shouldn't be on my pc and need deleting? There's one called WINPC which tried tricking me. Anyone have any ideas? I've paid for norton before and found it crap, i'm a tight arse too Leon

Good old leeson tyre clearance! Leon

Surely you'd get more done on a short bike...Not only wheelbase wise, but a short bike spins much easier Meh Leon

I see lies at 58 secs too!! I've noticed this in most of his vids Leon

To be fair that's a huge lion and one pathetic bear Leon
