  1. It doesn't say anything on the site about any lubricating properties, just it stops internal corrosion?
  2. Take the bolts off and go ride until they work loose. Use a punch and a hammer and a lot of brute force. Heating the crank arms up can make both of these options easier. Also both can damage the cranks if you're not careful.
  3. Shame, but I guess it makes sense. Yes they are utterly rubbish, which is why I just recommended one over every other freewheel on the market bar the SL
  4. A lot of winter gloves are made for people who are unfit and ride casually. They are very warm and comfy but also bulky and effect your ability to control the bars and brakes. Plus, if you are fit and put effort in when riding then they are just too hot, your hands can get really sweaty after 20mins. If its cold enough to need gloves like that then its usually also too icy and dangerous to ride anywhere! I've used these Pro gloves for over a year now. They are windproof and much warmer than standard full finger gloves when the air is freezing and you're riding fast. They aren't much thicker than normal gloves so you still have plenty of control, I can ride trials in them without any issues. For £10 they are a steal, I paid £25 for mine and thought that was a bargain for how good they are. I was out for 2 hours XC on the local hills in the snow last week. It was in the evening, -2 or 3 degrees with a bitter cold wind, but my hands were perfectly warm
  5. If you can't afford an SL, then get a TR. There's really no reason to buy any other freewheel than an Echo right now.
  6. That's awesome news. I'm the same as Ali, I wanted to do this years ago. You only need to look at how thick steerer tubes have become on trials forks to realise the tube diameter isn't big enough! Should be a bit lighter and stronger, tests have shown them to be much stiffer as well. Would be perfect for use with magnesium frames and forks where stiffness is an issue.
  7. If you read the thread, you will find plenty of reasons to use a thinner fluid. You will also find that if you do it properly then there is no reason why it ever needs to freeze or wreck your seals. There is a reason why so many top riders use it! I was really against it for years and thought I knew better, but I'd hate to have to go back to oil now. I use water and anti-freeze mix which is protected down to -20 or something silly, it works great all year round. The only problem I get is sticky pistons every few months which need lubing. But that is probably down to fact my brake had had 5 years of hard use and usually has the TPA wound in.
  8. Yeah I agree. The fact it split 2 links from the split pin seems wierd... did you shorten it too much and then have to add some links in or something?
  9. You contradict yourself so much in this post! You want designers to push the design limit but then have instantly written off new ideas as stupid. You want frames to look different but then argue they should all conform to one design because its lighter and simpler?!? Obviously these frames aren't to your taste but there are a lot of people who will appreciate the new features. I for one have been after a frame like the new Zoo for years. Just a shame it doesn't have last years geo and is about 12 months too late for me
  10. I'd just let it thaw out and then try and rebleed it. I think you'd struggle to snap any of the internals just from pulling it when frozen, it might be fine after some TLC.
  11. What washer? There's nothing wrong with water if you are sensible like everyone else and mix it with anti-freeze. I just went out to check my brake and it is perfect despite the -4 degrees in the garage!
  12. Have you got plenty of clearance on the non-driveside crank? If so you could add a BB spacer onto the driveside cup and it might give you the extra clearance.
  13. Agreed! I'm really surprised that anybody could think anything less I thought it was amazing, and the whole way through I couldn't help but think how much it pisses all over trials and makes it look both gay and pointless!
  14. Definitely get a Shimano, but don't buy the one in the link above as its for a road bike! Get this one with a 127mm axle
  15. I used to think your riding was cool, where did it all go wrong?!? Too many hops! UCI F T L
  16. I've been riding for over 10 years and still struggle with all of these moves! If you figure out any secrets be sure to pass them on. Even though in the past I have done all of these moves to a decent standard, I have mental blocks which make it hard to match what I used to do.
  17. I never knew you were so well informed! Maybe you should go into politics or become an advisor etc?
  18. Agreed! I run one on my Adamant frame, which has a thick CNC booster built in. But even so the difference in brake stiffness and the improvement in brake performance was very noticeable.
  19. More like epic win! Its about time they started using it on more frames, I might have to buy one just because of that and the horizontal dropouts.
  20. They aren't 7075 and infact they are exactly the same as Trialtechs. I bought them thinking they were 7075, but was later told by tarty that apparently its impossible to forge 7075 cranks the way they are made.
  21. No that's for converting a 1.5" headtube down to take 1 1/8". Out of interest, what's wrong with an internal headset?
  22. Glad to help Didn't the April '09 video have something silly like 4 million hits after a few days? Still its good to see that the video has been a success, and no doubt it has been viewed a lot more if you include the hits from the Red Bull site.
