What is the point of the DILDO? I am sure I would get real upset the first time that "anti-seat" gets lodged...WHY oh WHY, it has no use as far as I can tell. :S

What kind of bike experience do you have? That is what dictated me buying Mod, and I'm old. I have ridden BMX for years. Also have an 11 year old that needed a new bike, and that led me to this. Oh you nice post man.

My riding has gone down from 5 days/ week to about 2. It's just so wet. I have an indoor spot, but it is still full of the 59 Impala that I am restoring. So when that goes to paint I will be back to 5 days. Is it just me or are there lots of sick riders?

Why is everyone talking about brakes, when the question is about tires? I am sure that car tires that are built for water are designed to channel water away WHEN SPINNING. I am not sure that the would be any improvement in traction if the tire is not turning. So a trials bike with Aquatred style would only mean less rubber to make contact in center of tire...

How do you check wheel tension?

Side Hopping The Wrong Way

Unless you like to do static 360's, to get facing the way you favor, learning both ways makes sense. Unless you only ride street, and do one move at a time(no lines of flowing moves), then by all means hop the same way every single time... -
Saturn Yellow, fairly common color, I would however never consider painting spokes-too many angles-runs almost guaranteed. . Dayglo makes a great version but I have no idea if it's available over there...

I would say you where more then generous to have the wheels trued in the first place. No used bike is a new bike, he's a wank for sure if he expected a new bike, peddle wobble-give me a brake you wank-your new peddle will wobble in a few days... You should keep the 20 and buy yourself a spoke tool, and a few pints to forget about this ass-hat.

Made by Koza, in the Russian Mig factory, so it's called the Koza ti-mig---shitty pic but it's what I got

I am under the impression that it would make it easier to roll up things, like a stock bike is, would raise my BB like you said, and would raise my front end. I was considering a set of riser bars to get the front end up a bit, but this 24 idea would fix that issue as well. I figured out how to use some v brake to magi adapters, so I don't need to buy a disk to try it out. Was thinking I would look in the local shops for a cheap 24 front wheel and tire this weekend, and give it a go. Pretty sure this would make it feel like it has a longer wheel base, and more angle on the fork, and that should be nice.
-
IC, well then perhaps I should not do anything for a while. Thanks for the responses everyone. Caleb Oh, and I noticed my front for has plenty of room for a 24" wheel and a disk tab so that is rolling around in my head.

OK I have been riding it at least 3 days per week for the last 6 months. I am not complaining about the weight, but want to build a new bike bit by bit, and keep this one as a guest bike....
-
My bike complete, after finding a proper scale, is 18.3 lbs he frame with BB and echo cranks and triple traps was 8.3 lbs- how is this for a titanium frame? The front wheel came in at 789 grams (no tire or tube). It is a no name wheel, with a king hub The rear wheel, also no name, came in at 488 grams (no tire or tube) generic bmx hub sealed I'm thinking the front fork at 510 grams, with Maggie's and mounts is as good as it gets, and it's also Ti The bars with neck are 1011 grams, brisa elite bars and a unmarked stem So what suggestions do you have now? Thanks
-
That was supposed to be sarcasm. I want to build a weight weenie bike for sure. And keep my Ti Mig nice and solid, if not a little heavy.

No intention of being one of "Those Guys"

My bike is a Koza ti mig, I believe it was made in 01 or 02. I am running a maxis creepy on back and a heavyweight tube that was in it when I bought it. I would assume that this would be the place to start logically, with the rear wheel and tire. Would some one please share the weight of there back wheel tire that is considered light, and of course what what set up is. I am going to build a new bike bit by bit, and will be putting the new parts on this frame for now. So I want to buy nice light parts, with my old parts as backup. Because I need to buy all parts, I figure I would buy the things that may help me first. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

So I took my bike apart to re-grind the rims, and I need a new headset. It's a mod. So I threw the parts up on the scale and was a little shocked. Front wheel and tire= 3.6 lbs rear wheel and tire just over 5lbs, fork with maggies 2.2lbs, and the frame with rear maggies and bb with echo forged cranks 9.8 lbs. The rear wheel seems very heavy, but what do you think. Are these weights reasonable, or not. Where would you start to loose some weight. Thanks Caleb

The brakes may have been great a while ago. However a grind does wear out. Spend a few bucks now on a grinder, and prevent a horrible injury.
-
Same pads and setup as me it sounds like. I would say that the grind is to light. Remember that the grinder is made to smooth out the metal, and you want to rough it up. I will now be an assuptious ass and say. Tip the grinder up to an angle, so you are using the edge of the grinder. Loosen up your grip on said grinder and let it bounce a little. If you think it would be OK to drag a finger across the rim it's to light of a grind. It should be scary to touch it. Don't be afraid to grind to much. IMO it's better to over grind, then not grind enough, or else you get to re-grind sooner. And tar seems pointless to me. Seems to me that hundreds of $ worth of brakes should work without the addition of 12 cents worth of tar...

Thanks for the reply's. I am now 95% sure I will go to a disk. Next questions would be who bought a disk, hated it, and had to purchase a different setup? Basically is there any to stay away from for sure? Is there a down side to buying used disks? Do the parts wear out after time, if so how long?
-
I am thinking of changing my mod to front disk. I am curious to see how it has affected other riders. Also how much of an issue is bending disks for other mod riders? How often do they need to be replaced due to bending? I would assume that the ability to modulate the brake would be nice, but is it worth it? Also compared to hs-33, will all disk brakes be heavier?

I used to have large dreads, in that little pic, now I have very small ones. I found that the bigguns took way to long to dry, after washing. I wash mine almost every day, so they are clean. Never had any problems ridding with them, other then finding a helmet to accommodate them. I do not understand why people assume dreads are dirty, you don't COMB you hair, but you do WASH your hair.
