7 ish. Met a wonderful girl then graduated uni, the two most important things that's happened this year. Would be higher if I got a design related job after uni instead of full time in halfords.

I tried so hard and got so far, but in the end it doesn't even... Sorry. I love t his song.

I personally would go for an 05 model with an 08 Echo lever or a SL lever. Your finger fits round the lever blade ends much nicer.

Why in pieces? That makes me sad.

I'm sorry but this is like the Dr.Dre Beats thread.

I'm tempted to say put what ever is damaged by the water in rice to soak up all the water moisture but I don't know if putting a computer component in rice is a good idea. I once spilled water on my old phone and it wouldn't turn on, I could see the moisture building up behind the screen cover. Googled around and people put their phone in rice and left it over night. I did exactly that and the phone came back alive. My sister has it now and it's still working.

I once went to a pub quiz and called our team Emergency Contraception, we came second and got a round of free drinks. True story bro.

Mines on the floor and I have a fine dust filter and it's fine. Also my sub is on the opposite side of my desk, looks more even than having everything to one side.

I like this guy more that macaskill.

I love halfrauds stories, and I work in one. Our mechanic actually knows what he's doing, even though he's a bit ham fisted with things and bash things around. Another guy is about to start as head mechanic but he's been suspended for discount abuse, made me laugh. I'm sure he has some sort of attention deficit disorder too and bullshits a lot, god knows why my manager gave him the head mechanic position. But I do agree that some people are only there for the money, a few part timers I work with really doesn't know much and the same for the 3 new guys that's been hired. Out of the 12 bikehut staff, only 5 really knows about bikes!

Anyone had experience with a POD XT? I'm looking to buy one but don't know if they are any good. Researched them on youtube for video and they sound pretty cool.

I did 3D Design down portsmouth uni. Mostly hands on making things that didn't really have to be product based. My course ranged from furniture to jewellery to graphics based deigns. Heck, one girl printed words on calico cloth and got a 1st for her 3rd year final. But on my course at portsmouth uni you can talk bullshit and the tutors will still agree. It varies with different uni though, when I had my interview at southampton solent uni, the course there was very product based. They also had many cool machinery to play with, portsmouth uni didn't, the coolest thing was probably the laser cutter. I mostly did my work on paper, cardboard. In my third year I made a full size cardboard desk (using it now infact) for my final piece. Best I did was made a few blogs and got a little corner in a trade magazine a few months ago. The course was very self directed, tutors was only really there to give you advice and didn't really taught as anything to be honest. I only had 1 hour of lecture a week, 2-3 days I had to be in uni and the rest of the week it's "self directed" but I just did something else. I only got a 2.2 though, as my research and sketchbook was crap. But I always complained that other peoples research folder was full of unrelated shit haha, some peoples had random bits of cloth stuck in it, some had half the internet printed out and stuck in their sketchbook, it was just tacky if you asked me. Did I enjoy my course? Sort of. I liked the freedom of choosing my own area, but I didn't really find that till late in my last year. Was it worth it? No. For the £3000+ I paid a year I barely got anything back, tutors didn't really teach us anything. Lectures was useless, I once had a lecture on bowler hats and another lecture on some war event called "the last stand". The only thing I got out of uni was the bit of expensive paper that says I got a 2.2. I met some awesome people and made some friends I'll keep in touch with for the rest of my life, the freedom away from home was also great, the rent and bills and money management wasn't so great haha. I didn't even plan on going to uni to be honest, haven't even planned my future! I really don't know what to do to be honest, I quite like to work with a design company that specialises in recyclable furniture but I haven't really started looking for a job like that yet. Right now I work in Halfords full time to pay off some debt, then save up some money to move out and start looking for a job that's related to what I did in uni. But if you think that the course will help you in your future and you're set on that route then of course go for it, a degree is better than no degree I guess when you're applying for a job that you want. I probably didn't help much but oh well, that was my uni experience!

Play guitar and ride bikes are the only two left for me really. Guitar I've given up on pretty much, lost interest in that and been playing for 9 years ish I haven't progressed at all really. Can play a few songs but anything that has speed or solo like stuff I just cannot physically do. I want to start trials again but I don't have the money or time to ride as I work full time. Also southampton is pretty lame for riding anything. All the parks are only really good for bmx.

Aener I wasn't joking when I said I want your babies. Excited every time I see a video from you.
-
White wall is the union, cos it's right next to the student union.
-
I wouldn't like to be served by you if I walked into your halfords... All the ones I've come across that had some sort of problem, we don't even deal with it. We just take a new working one off another bike and warranty the disc brake. Pointless spending so much effort and money on these.

F**k that! £15 for only 30%-40%?! I could strip a frame with the old cans with some left over. Geez I can't be arsed to strip my frame now!
-
It may not leak now but under pressure when you're pulling the lever it might. Just a note...
-
Is that just while you were playing around with it in your hand or actually set up on a bike and tested?
-
Ah, you read it before I edited my post... forget what I said, got it a bit confused with my old amplifier... I believe the red and white has to be used with the yellow as they are on it's own channel (I can't think of the proper name for it). So if you connected it via the red and white, you won't get sound as you're not on the same channel unless you're using the yellow for the input video. I probably just made it more confusing, sorry.

If your TV has some sort of USB then it's pretty recent, surely it should have a headphone jack that you can just plug the speakers into?
-
What he said. These brakes are lame. I work at Halfords too and I've come across a few.
-
Unrelated question to bike, this new nitromorse stuff, is it shit for all paint types then? I was thinking of stripping down a frame but no way am I sanding it down instead.

What title says really, after some gloves to cycle to work in. Ideally waterproof cos I'll be cycling in the rain some days. Price wise, don't really want to go over £25. I've had a search online, sealskinz comes up a lot but they look too thick like wooly gloves. I'm after something thinner, doesn't have to have rubbery grips on them, I have no brakes to pull. Halp?
