Um, you sure they weren't .jar files? Eitherway, .rar files are compressed files which need to be uncompressed before you can use them...

Um, .rar is like a zip file... but a rar file. Download winrar to unrar them, then install them onto the phone.
  4. Some get validated within 2 posts. Some are still in here with over 500 (Id guess). Read the announcement for all the info you need.

    Tf Makeover

I reckons something less fussy. As has been said, more web 2.0 (how cheesey is that). Square corners, solid colours etc

You can now select the county you live in in your profile. Look next to this post and click on 'Pembrokeshire'.. thats what it does... Inprovements (eg, maybe have it so it says From: Tenby, Pembrokeshire?) welcome

Thats easy enough to do with a custom profile field, I'll sort it tonight/tomorrow. Then you can search for people based on their area

The only way I could see regional subforums working is it was split into england/wales/scotland/ireland/elsewhere. If it was into more subforums than that then people who live on borders would never see rides next door to them (unless they checked their subforum and subforums for all surrounding areas) - same problem applies to seperating it out into countries too. Rides like 'big london/bristol ride' wouldn't get much attention either... We have some updates on the way to worry about first, then some changes may be made.
  9. Fantastic. If we all posted all of our spam on here.... erm, it'd be spam! Spam. Closed.
  10. Use one of the other topics..
  11. and the first (the new one) does
  12. Don't really see the point in this thread. Post in the 'angry thread'... congrats in advance for beating someone up.
  13. Hmm well I've said it before (did I say it? or was it just in my head... anyway..), even I don't really see the point in SM's (no offense to you lot) now really, it creates a lot (well, a bit) of hassle - threads like this obviously, is a level of 'authority' which isn't really needed, it lets a few members know they're appreciated around here (which you are), but a lot more think 'why aren't I an SM?' and, in conclusion, the idea of SMness has been lost really. Can't remember who has turned down being an SM, a couple though, but now I'm older and slightly wiser I can see where they're coming from.
  14. Auto Mod Please use the Best Of The Internet for topics like this.
  15. Brainiac says no. Waste of money.
  16. A few alternate options 1. Save yourself the hassle of fitting a head unit, and use the time you saved for burning CDs. 2. Get an FM Transmitter - heres one selected at random - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LCD-200-CHANNEL-FM-T...1QQcmdZViewItem (edit: get one that plugs into the fag lighter though) Dont go for the cheapest possible - mine was a bit shit - i've head good reports about them if you spend a bit more though.
  17. Kazaa Lite Codec Pack has always served me well. Somewhere on here - http://home.hccnet.nl/h.edskes/mirror.htm

  20. Good point bongo. I'll just have to move the line rental to another house when I move out I guess. All working now, seems they've upgraded me to 6.5mb maybe (?) downloading lost at ~600kbps so I guess so. Just as a small review for the benefit of people who'll come across this on google. Freeola seem to be resellers of enta.net. You dont get a modem or anything, just a username and password. Support is good, got through straight away - although I got the feeling it was just one bloke sitting in the office. So not a big company. All good so far, seems to be the best deal by far if you want a short(ish) term contract.
  21. Why don't you just register as self employed and go out and work? If not just join an agency/contracting firm. Loads of people in my old work (IT people) were contractors, worked with a few of them. They just register with an agency and the agency offers them work when they find it. The ones I worked with had their agency jobs for years, and the agency pays a lot more than if they were employed directly by the company.
  22. Post whatever you like in here* *As long as it is within the rules.
  23. Its T6 Torx you need. They usually come free with replacement screens if you buy them off ebay, Small (tiny) flathead screwdrivers you can get from quid shops and the like.
  24. Serv-U FTP (or something like that) is good.
