I really like speedrace, wouldn't mind riding for them myself ( in my dreams). This seems interesting and quite promising, are there any plans for 20"? And i agree with wimmeretz, lower bb. Too many frames with high BBs nowadays, lower BB might help with sales. Me as well have friends who are looking for a 26" frame not with +60BB. Keep the news coming.

Yep, 18t front and 12t rear is probably what you call standard. Keep in mind that crank length also has effect on how the gearing feels. Of course that doesn't mean that you can't run different set up, totally up to you.

I'd say first make up your mind which geo you want. Then take both specs and compare if it's worth for you to swap. Not really much to say, you have to think about pros and cons for yourself (in short - what works for me, won't necessary work for you). Good luck

If you want to ride trials just for fun/hobby, it's never too late. You've already noticed that there are many people similar age riding. Various, if you want to go pro, i'd say it's a bit too late (just like in any sport, i guess). Edit: so no don't sweat, keep riding, be confident.
