  1. No I tried it by also adding a 2.5 mm and 5 mm spacer under the stem with the same results so still none the wiser
  2. Echo sl sealed internal . Headsets great , bearings good and cups are nice and tight
  3. Anyone have any tips on keeping it tight ? Yesterday my trialtech forks came , along with new try all 3d stem and rock man sloping top cap . Knocked a new star fangled nut in fitted everything nicely and the steerer is cut to about 2mm from the top of the stem . Both stem steerer bolts are as tight and even as they will go without snapping or threading them . All seems perfect but after 5 mins the headset starts to develop play and can't figure out anything more to do . Anyone else had this problem and solved it ? The echo stem I just took off never came loose Cheers
  4. Has the design of the tabs changed /got bigger from the older sl to the newer sl ?i have the newer black one , I believe the older sl was silver ?
  5. It's probably going to be another purchase for the official echo tool this time ,just seems a waste of money really
  6. Been needing to remove my echo sl freewheel off the cranks for service so I can ride again.i didn't want to pay 22 quid for the echo tool so bought the cyclo tool instead.its advertised as being able to remove echo freewheels so bought it. Received this morning and the prongs on the tool only just touch the inside recess on the freewheel . Just popped to my local bike shop to borrow the vice ,bolted the tool to the cranks and tightened the tool in the vice.started swinging on a long bar over the crank arm only for the tool to keep slipping out.it refuses to stay on. After about 20 attempts I've given up and my cyclo tool and freewheel tabs ain't looking too clever . Never had problems removing other freewheels just this one. Surely if the tool is advertised for echo freewheels then it should work ? It's just to small to get a grip
  7. No worries dude, someone may have one somewhere
  8. Is it an echo one? Believe they were 2 finger. I think my last one was an 08 rounded one which was comfy. Should never have sold it. I'm interested if yours is an echo blade mate can you upload a picture?
  9. I'll stick one up....Never know
  10. Does anyone in the uk still stock them?not having much luck finding any at the minute . Want a black one for my magura hs33 05 lever
  11. I have taken apart many tensile and eno freewheels and serviced and replaced parts no problem whatsoever . I have worked as a bike mechanic in a couple of shops too . I was just unsure wether the locking actually unscrewed for service or wether it had a welded locking that couldn't be removed . I hadn't had chance to take a look so asked here first
  12. It started crunching noises on the way to riding ,then started random skips .sounds like little bit of pawl or ratchet tooth may have chipped off and is messing the inside up . Only way to find out is to take it apart and clean it all out
  13. Ah cool, I take it the lock ring just screws on and off like tensiles and enos then?
  14. Can it be taken apart to service? I have not been able to take my cranks off to have a look yet but I heard you can't as it's sealed? It's banging inside so needs to be stripped and cleaned really incase any metal shrapnel is floating around, thanks
  15. Can't see anything wrong with your technique mate. On a wall that high your going to hit the edge anyway as its quite low . All I can say is try and land a little steeper to control the bike on landing . As the walls get higher your going to hit the wall on the face more and more . Your front wheel can only hit so high . I found it better learning on bigger walls to get the front wheel tap dialled . Each to there own though
  16. Cheers mate I'll go have a pop now
  17. Just wondered how to get the blade off as I want to remove the piston and replace seal. Is it a tap out job? Any particular direction? Thanks
  18. I have the ice toolz bmx tool from tarty bikes .its advertised for 1/8th chains which are very popular trials and bmx size .however I also use a huge 3/16 bmx chain as I'm heavy and break everything . This tool does the job .... Kmc k910 (which I use) and the gusset tank chain are no problem . Hope this helps And it also splits normal 3/32 chains no problem
  19. Photos taken on new iPad so hopefully not too bad ,comments welcome .
  20. Having read through that, I now think maybe not! I hardly ever crash, but I'm a very big (19 stone) street rider. And I do ride hard. Don't think carbons cut out for me lol
  21. Does anyone know how strong these bars are compared to something like trialtech. Fancy something different and live the graphics, but ain't to sure on strength. Would they take a good street beating? Anyone heard of any snapping? Cheers
  22. No mate Tom sold it to Paul and Paul sold it to someone on here ... Most likely be working this Sunday so hull is not looking good
  23. Seems as my zoo died pretty quick I went for the beefier option ... Rides quite nice . Pic below , excuse the quality as its my phone camera
