  1. tnn lgm's with a medium grind (work brill) echo tr brake clamps (easy to setup) and trialtech carbon 2 boilt booster(light and stiff) awsome setup to be fair but to be honest any half decent combo would work well if setup properly !
  2. lol.... wiggys cool dude, and a good rider, he was so happy nailing that gap , it has'nt suprised me him putting it on here lol
  3. Well done wiggly ..... I'm gonna have it this weekend both ways .. If my brake held better I would have done it That gaps the reason my headset is dead ! Bring on saturday ! You riding Lincoln ?

just wondered what people think of the standard 1/8th headsets ...... which ones are good and which are bad, i have an echo headset the slightly older one with the larger cups but its died after 3 months use, was considering getting another but the cups are slightly smaller so not convinced .. also looking at the neon bow 2010 ones at £35 ... anyone tried one yet? cheers
  8. why dont you go with the trialtech race welded ? it comes in 120 x 20 too...... and its £30 , i had the forged and it felt like cheese and my bars creaked like hell..... and its not heavy, tarty had the weight at nearly 300grams which was wrong as trialtechs website had it at 218grams .. i was going to mention this to tarty when i orderedmine but it seems they've corrected it , .. brilliant stem and super stiff and strong
  9. yeah ive got the echo headset the £40 one... headsets fine though to be honest ... will keep it for a while yet
  10. cool.... was thinking along them lines myself ... might just give that ago !!
  11. evening all.... ok i bought a second hand gu typhoon 06 stock frame off a mate and when i put it all together i noticed i could push my headset cups into the frame with a bit of strength with my hand . i know this is the sign of a flared headtube but up until recently its been fine . i took my bike out the house this morning and noticed the headset was very stiff and turning the bars i noticed the bottom headset cup turned in the frame . i took it all apart and now the bottom cup just falls in and out ... i re greased everything and cleaned it all out and its riding ok again , but is it going to get any worse? or is there a fix for this ? ive never had a problem like this ever on my bikes , just curious really , i suppose its only got to last me another month or two before i buy a new frame cheers
  12. They were second hand , the stem is virtually new condition and the bars are alright ..... I thought trialtech bars and stems were great ? Anyone on the thread size ??
  13. Morning all ... Does anyone know the thread size for a mech hanger hole ? My mate has machined a steel hanger but needs the thread size so it can be drilled out for my tensioner to screw on , cheers Secondly I recently got a trialtech forged stock stem and stock bars but I can't get them to stop creaking . All the bolts are tight and even , and greased up , but they creak like fook . Any suggestions ?
  14. i remember the old school stuff ... around the time i ran the cycle department at jjb sports 1999 lol.... however i feel the opposite , i broke more in them days than i do now , i would snap a pair of azonic bars a month , fsa cranks only lasted 2 months at best and hope xc rear hubs ... well i cant remember how many of those i broke , went through 3 azonic shorty frames in one year and 2 planet x jack flash frames the year after , as well as a handful of excel frames (pace copies).....and to top that off i was actually 13 stone super fit , i quit 5 years ago around the time the base ta26 was out and have just started up again about a year ago, and to be honest i reckon the newer stuff is stronger ..and im 18 stone now ! i think its because manufacturers are giving the extra forces trials puts onto components a more serious thought than back in the day , i suppose its also about your riding style , once you learnt to ride well , you can work on your smoothness and things last longer .! old school was fun though ill give you that!
  15. does anyone know how well the echo slaves work with a magura lever ? pretty much the same ? and how much extra clearance you actually get using the echo slaves ? im led to belive its the echo levers that are prone to leaking and not the slaves
  16. aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh........did cross my mind , so it does not affect the tightening up of the bb if i lose the spacer on the cup? i was convinced you HAD to use the spacer if my frame has a 68mm shell..... would even things up nicely if i can take it out
  17. did think that but not going too.... infact i thought i mention the drive side crank arm ... there is about 10 mm clearance on that side ... my bb shell is 68mm and i have a truativ 128mm bb , which im using the spacer on the drive side cup ... it seems to un even ! 2mm non drive side and 10 mm drive side ... how come? i take it i cant take the spacer off the bb cup ? or is that just if you have a 73mm frame shell ?
  18. can you buy little spacers that fit over isis bb axles to space the crank arm out just a little more ? my left crank arm is about 2mm from touching the magura slave cilinder when it rotates ... im ordering some new heatsink pads soon and i know how fat the material and cnc backings are , and i know that once fitted the cranks going to hit the magura slave , its needs spacing out about 2mm more ... , some would say if there are spacers , that it would not do the crank and bb strength anygood but i dont have another choice ...
  19. good to see bigger lads (like myself ) enjoying trials haha
  20. rode a couple weeks ago with him , and he's using a trialtech undrilled rear rim , smooth , with heatsink yellows rear , and cousts on v brake at front ... similar setup to me
