Mark have you any idea what prices will be like? Will be ordering a new frame and probably forks when you guys return after christmas and at the moment I'm looking at a Born but may swing to one of these as I originally wanted a Slate II!

Completely with you there JD, this was my first bought for purpose "trials" bike. Did me fine for more than long enough! The only bits that didn't come standard are the tyres, pedals, bars and DCD.

I wouldn't say it was very hard, years ago all we had were normal mountain bikes converted to ride trials. I'll admit things are easier on proper bikes with trials geo but that doesn't mean it can't be done on any other bike!

Luckily I've not come across a set up I'm in love with so still get to play about. Lookin forward to picking up a born after Christmas, unless of course the slate III takes my fancy!

Well I can recommend the echo tr having ridden one, *though my cousins sisters dads nephews girlfriends uncle overheard someone in a pub saying the trialtech sport rims might be good so I'm getting one of them next if that helps?! *obligatory TF response

What rim and tyre have you currently got?? I had a TR on the rear which had loads of thickness to take a few grinds and ran my stiky really low for a while before I sold the wheel and never had a problem.

And bear in mind that most normal bike rims will be far too narrow to work on a proper trials frame so if you bought a new frame then you'll probably need wheels as well.

Probably gonna be best with a light grind on the front. Don't want anything too heavy or you'll be faceplanting a lot when you forget about how strong the front brake is! And I wouldn't worry about the pads wearing down too quickly, should still last quite a while!

I've spent the last 4 days trudging through 2' deep snow to clear up points and signals, nothing worse than when they get frozen up and won't work. Could be worse though, could have been doing it on nights!

That is a frighteningly low weight, I'm hoping to keep the weight down on my stock as the last 3 builds have been pretty heavy, heavy tools, zenith and an old echo control!

Any month is a good month to burn money mehewd! Plus its my bday in february and as I'm getting old I have no real need for presents so cash and vouchers to waste on bikes is the only way to go!!

After christmas I'm gonna be building up another stock bike to ride (buying most of it brand new, just using my drivetrain) cause I fancied having a brand new frame as a bit of a proper fresh start as been riding 2nd hand stuff mostly and wondered who else will be starting from scratch again? Does anyone specifically sell up at the end of each year and start new again for the new season? I'm also thinking of swapping my 07 python frame and going duel disc on my mod to get a totally new setup, is it a good idea?

I love christmas, even better now I've got 2 kids as gives me more reason to be excited and I get to play with all my old and their new toys! Our tree went up at about 9AM on the 1st

In the same boat, 27 with 2 kids means they get all the good stuff and I get duff presents. Will be getting some vouchers though to go towards my new stock frame and a few bits. Though having kids means I get to play with their presents!

Err, not sure if you've noticed but we're having an immensely bad winter which has put a stop to quite a lot of stuff so it's no surprise you haven't received your package yet. I posted a frame out on the 24th November and that still hasn't been delivered thanks to the weather.

I'm screwed on the shorts and the t shirt!!
