  1. Probably stick around till about 1ish depending on how knackered I get!
  2. Got an available window to have a ride somewhere other than my hometown in the mornin so might chance a trip to Matlock. Anyone gonna be about? Think I'll be there for bout 10ish. Will take my videocam to catch all the low quality action!!
  3. Nice one, will have a strip down with it at the dinner table tonight! EDIT: Sorted it now, was pretty obvious when I had a look but had so much grease I could barely see a thing. A few springs looking a bit ropey but it should be alright!
  4. Right I was out riding last night and spotted the lockring on my tensile FFW was loose so I called it a day and tried tightening it up this morning, the problem is something is obviously not in the right place so it now doesn't work at all. Anyone have any detailed pics or instructions on how to build it up and how all the springs and pawls should sit??
  5. Got mine, not using one yet though as they're spares but seem pretty good, especially for £2!
  6. Right ive just sold a few sleepers so can finally order my new wheel but I'm stuck on what hub to use. I'm torn between either a TR modded by tartys or a because, though tartybikes are currently out of the because. Are there any real pros or cons between the two? It's not desperate as I probably won't be ordering my frame till just after Christmas!
  7. Oh yes, a crud catcher was essential trials kit back in the day! Wish I still had my rockhopper just to play on, was a great bike to ride but snapped it when I landed with one wheel either side of the landing ramp on the small dirt jump pictured. What made it worse was the fact we'd only just got there and it was the first jump I did! Still got the dodgy black freespirit frame (with the powerbar bottle) and the red frame in my dads garage, and the crud catchers on my dads bike!!
  8. Means you can put as much or as little power down as you want whereas with no modulation the brake would either stop dead or do nothing, if you get what I mean?! Think I'll hang on till I get my new frame and see how I feel. I don't mind swapping my disc only forks for some disc and maggie ones if it means I've got the option in future.
  9. That's what's putting me off as I live in a hilly town so its always downhill to go home!
  10. My hope trial is currently running on a newish (but bedded in) 180mm wavy disc so maybe some new pads may make a difference.
  11. I'm considering swapping my front disc to a hs33 but I wanted a few reviews from people who run HS33 front and rear. I find trying to go up to front a problem as my disc doesn't hold enough but I'm worried a magura will be too grabby?? Is it worth changing, or should I consider a swap to a BB7?
  12. I've got stikys front and rear which I got 2nd hand. The rear has worn down quite a bit and so is a bit lighter but I find the grip great, although I can only compare it to oldskool IRC El Gatos and Kujos. I think the deal from tartys is a good one though and worth a try!
  13. I remember really wanting an arrowhead but then the heavy tools came out so I bought that instead!
  14. Just a few random pics from back in the day! Ranging from about 10-17 years ago, and not all trials related. Love it!!!
  15. Some photo's I dug out and scanned! My first trials incarnation My 13" specialized rockhopper pre magura and bashring My cousins Azonic And a few pics of me in action and one of my old mates!
  16. I don't like the ones at the top, mainly due to the decals as I was considering getting a stock bow but that put me off. The x ray at the bottom is quite tidy though!
  17. Couple ordered, cheers for the heads up!
  18. Another thing to note as I don't think anyone else has said, drink water, a lot of water. You want to be downing about 2.5l a day from my experience if your not already, it helps a lot. And if you want some decent low price protein have a look on myprotein.co.uk. Thats where I ended up after spending a fortune on all the different brands and found you save quite a bit of cash, plus the ground porridge oats and stuff they sell is good to throw in your shakes to add a bit more carbs and aid the bulk!
  19. I've been struggling with uploading images lately myself, can't do it in a post at work it just comes up with "Error This upload failed" though I'm on some crappy Microsoft server running a hybrid of NT and 98. Tried uploading some pics to my album at home as well on Windows 7 with IE and everytime I click on the button to upload it just refreshes the page.
  20. Is there such thing? Bought this the other day and had a few games last night online. I now remember why I traded World at War in, is it just me or do you need obscenely good eyesight to be able to read the tiny writing on all the screens?? Not impressed to be honest.
  21. Depends on the tyre/rim combo as to whether it could come off really. Don't think there really is an average everyone uses, just down to what feels good for you personally! Think I run about 35-40 in the front and 20-25 in the rear myself.

    Forks

Think he meant no weightsaving holes drilled
  23. I assume you mean the crossover that goes over the wheel?? You can cut it and reattach but the pipe may be too short then which may lead to it splitting if it's stretched too far, and as for pushing the barbed fitting on you'll need some blocks (http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10026&category_id=5) to clamp the hose in tight. I always find warming the hose in a little boiling water does enough to ease it in though you've gotta make sure you tap it in dead straight! I went through about 4 crossover pipes getting it right!
  24. Yeah thats right, or try and pick up a cheap rear disc brake as it may work cheaper than buying a brand new lever!
  25. Have you recently had new cranks and/or BB?? And are they taper or isis?
