I must admit I was a bit concerned a first when I ordered it but now it's built up it feels great. The frame alone feels quite solid though I've not had a "proper" ride out on it yet. Definitely value for money though!

Just stuck a new chain on and swapped the rear clamps and booster for some TR's with a 2 bolt trialtech so the rear brake works now I can set it up properly. Rides very nice and feels really light, gonna have to get it on the scales but is really easy to flick about on, I'll hopefully be making some big improvements now!

There the standard 4 finger ones, that's why I went for the 11's assuming you mean the brakes!

Finally got my new Because built up but not ridden it properly as I need a new chain! Spec is almost all brand new except for the stem, bars, tyres, BB, cranks and freewheel. Because Simple 2011 26" (thanks to AliC for suggesting it) Trialtech forks Trialtech circle and square hole rims on TR hubs 2011 HS11's, Echo TR clamps with trialtech 2 bolt booster, HS yellows and TNN LGM's Tryall stiky front and der kaiser rear 2011 TR pedals Echo SL headset Trialtech cranks with SL FFW on Tryall BB Tryall NUC stem with 9D risers and rockman foams Rear tyre is tight as foook but just needs a tiny bit more shaving off the sides so it doesn't rub at all and need to sort some chaintugs or big adjustment toothed cams (20mm aint enough). Not weighed yet but official weight going off tartybikes is around 9.2kg so happy with that!

Cheers Matt, would 170's make much difference from the 165's on my mod? Heard quite a few people say they use them.

Well maths always was my strong point at school. Sadly though that was 12 years ago so a long lost skill I'm afraid!

Yeah it's exactly the same ratio but it felt odd when I was pedalling, I suppose it could be as I'm riding a frame with a BB rise of 35mm compared to the 15mm's on my last 2 frames so it might be that making it feel weird. When one side was at the top of the pedal stroke though it just felt huge, would running 170's make much difference to leverage and how much power I can put down?

Same here, though the idea of push notifications when you recieve PM's would be a nice touch on my phone!

I had a quick spin on my new because earlier and the cranks felt really weird. Not sure if it's just because I've not ridden a stock since about November but it didn't feel right, I think the arms are 175's and they felt massive so wondered if anyone thought dropping down to 170's will make much difference to how the bike rides and feels? I'm pretty sure my mod uses 165's so I can't swap them over to try but I don't wanna splash £50 on a new set if they won't be right. And I've had these cranks on my last 3 frames and they felt ok which is why I'm a bit confused!

Won't be getting him a trials bike yet as the cheapest kids bike they do is over £500! Though they do some pretty good kids bikes for round the £100 mark so I'd prefer to spend an extra £10-20 over a generic halfords kids bike and get something I know should be of a pretty good standard.

My son is due an upgrade from his balance bike and I was hoping to get him a monty but the problem is I don't want to just order one without him trying it first in case it's too big or too small. So, does anyone know anywhere where they have the bikes in stock so we can go and try one for size??

Oh yeah forgot to add, in terms of freewheel if you can afford it go for the Echo SL, if not a Tensile is pretty good. I run one of each on my stock and my mod so can vouch for both!

Before you change your stem I'd stick some risers on your bike of you've currently got flat bars. I'd recommend either tensile 9d, tryall rage or trialtech bars and go from there. Not sure on the levers as I've always run hydraulics but tyre pressures you want to be looking probably between 20-35psi, just give them a try and see what feels right whilst riding.

Have you considered a Neon X ray? Thats about the right geo and cheap enough to splash out on some other parts as well!?

I'm the same, everything looks great but the tyres actually look like they've been done on a computer. Although me not being an expert I can probably assume that trying to get the right texture for rubber is a pretty tough job
