  1. Got my Trialtech sport stem off Ben Travis the other day so brought it to work with me last night. Plan was to rub it down and respray it but numpty boy here forgot to take a before pic, got one after I rubbed it down with some fine wet and dry and after spraying so gonna get it lacquered at work tonight and will post pics of how she's turned out. For a first time doin summat like this I think I've done a good job!
  2. Don't know if you've ever seen it but there is a trials magazine out and whilst not solely bike trials it does have a lot in. Not like MBUK's 2 pages they dedicate Trials Magazine have competition results, interviews, bike and part tests and is pretty good in my view. Made by a guy my dad knows here in the good old High Peak. Checkout their website its here
  3. Think yourself lucky it wasn't your back wheel that stayed on! I did that years ago on a 5ft wall, nosedived to the ground and pretzled my brand new mavic rim on impact!! First thing I did when I got the chance was tackle a similar drop to prove to myself that I COULD do it!
  4. Nice one, thats the kind of info I was looking for thanks!

Don't know if anyone on here will remember a cartoon movie from years ago called Ferngully:The Last Rainforest but if they do its basically the same just not in 3D, and also terrible.Although this is just my opinion so I welcome peoples comments who enjoyed the film, can't stand when people say they don't like something and won't accept otherwise, especially the old XBox v PS3 argument!!
  6. Gentle now sam, I can't afford that much!! Tell you what, sod it I'll take the frame. At the end of the day its only £20 an if I decide I don't like it I can always stick it back on here. Not like I've never spent more than £20 on summat I didn't use, bought a Specialized Rockhopper brand new for bout £750 a few years ago, took it off road over south head once an sold it a few weeks later for bout £575!

I just can't see how that works, is the story different in the 3d version?!
  8. I'm confused, was considering buying Muels old Zenith frame off him, fixing it, respraying it then swapping all the kit off my Heavy Tools onto it but after a bit of research on the net it turns out that both frames weigh near enough exactly the same! So will I gain anything in running a more modern trials specific frame compared to my Heavy Tools Trials which I believe is officially a 14.75" frame when my overall bike will weigh exactly the same? My brain hurts, HELP!!

Wasted over 2 hours of my life last night watching Avatar, should never have believed the hype.
  10. Cheers for the comments! Was only at it for bout 2 years last time I rode, helmet arrived today after I finally got round to ordering. May be getting a Zenith frame to swap all my gear onto soon so will see how things go then, as for now I'm slowly getting back into the swing. Just a pain where I live as there's nowt to ride!!
  11. Yeah like I said it was mainly a tester for the camera to see what the quality was like and just have a quick go with an editing program. Gonna try an get a better program for editing as the one I used was only a freebie, and helmet shall be ordered later on tonight!
  12. Yup and thats not even the top quality setting!
  13. Thats cause last time I rode was back in 99! Had the bike in my dads garage for last 10 years an decided before christmas to get it built back up but using proper trials components not the make it up as you go along stuff we had to make do with years ago!!
  14. Cheers matey, only just got back into riding after a LONG time off so still a bit sketchy but its coming along. Think I was correcting a lot cause I was rushing it all, especially having to press record, ride up the wall, get back down and get back to stop it whilst keeping it quite short. Will hopefully get out later with a mate who can record for me and vice versa so will have a bit more time practising beforehand and be more relaxed!
  15. Well here is my first vid made using my new Kodak ZX1 pocket camcorder. For £50 she was a bargain for the quality you get from such a small piece of kit. Bear in mind I made this more to test the camera and have my first go at editing something together, used Videopad editing software (cause its free and windows movie maker is crap) to put it together. The ridings bit ropey as I was in a bit of a rush to get it done and the angles are poor as I was on my own so had to balance the camera on walls etc. but should hopefully be getting a mini tripod, strap to fit it to helmet/handlebars and get my mate out so we can film each other soon enough.
  16. Right I've finally got round to making a vid wih this thing! Will put a link up on the videos forum, the quality is brilliant (the camera, not the riding) for something so small. Hopefully get my mate out to ride with me so we can get some half decent riding filmed but the vid does its job of showing the video quality for anyone thinking of buying one!
  17. You'll find you'll spend nearly that much sorting the front wheel out, gettin some half decent brakes and setting your trek up to single speed. You really wanna get rid of the forks for some rigids to start with, ditch the biggest chainring, cut the teeth off the middle and fit it where the big one is currently to serve as a makeshift bashring and get the front wheel trued by a bike shop an get the brake back on an setup nicely.
  18. I'd go for a Specialized, pref a rockhopper if you can get one in your price range. Worth having a look on ebay for one, wish I'd kept mine now, was a quality bike!
  19. I'll be coming but only to watch I'm afraid for 2 reasons. 1. Not sure what class i'd be best in as its been a while 2. Gotta take my son to swimming lesson at 11.30!! Looking forward to it though
  20. Might be worth going to a MX shop and trying some proper motorcross/enduro gloves to see if they're any better for you!
  21. YES!!! Just been given the OK and told I can take as many as I like!! Can't complain at that, just gotta figure out how to collect em now!
  22. Not used them myself but there is a lot of praise given to the BB7 an BB5's. If it was me buying that bike I'd just ask to change the rear disk for a HS33 and probably stick at that for now to start on!
  23. Sky Sports and the BBC have a program when showing football that shows the direction of all the shots in the game, passes made, speed and trajectory of freekicks and stuff like that. Could be worth trying to get hold of a national sports program to see if any of the people who make the show can help you, don't know if you'll get anywhere with it but worth a try!
  24. Wahey, I may have just blagged myself a load of railway sleepers for not very much! Luckily I work on the railway so I've got a headstart and theres a pile of old ones near my signalbox that I'm trying to claim to chuck a trials section together. Anyone got some or used em before an what did you make?? There's about 12 down here that I can see so gonna try an get as many as possible! Edit - Just had a walk down the track and I've counted 19 so far, the guy who I spoke to about them said he'd rather they were away from the track so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
