    Super Bargain!

Is much better with a tripod, robbed my sister in laws for it the other day and works a treat but may buy one of them ones with the bendy legs for balancing on walls and stuff!
  2. What kind of genre/length/tempo you looking for??
  3. Problem I had was once I'd screwed one side in, the axle stuck so far out on the other side that it bottomed out the inside of the tool before I got the locking cup screwed up tightly! Was fuming when I sheared the teeth off!!
  4. Just a quick one for you, anyone know the bottom bracket size on a zenith? Mines gettin fixed at the moment so I can't get hold to measure it but thought I may as well get one ordered now so its ready to go straight in when it comes back. Also, any idea if you can get replacement cups as I've taken all the teeth off the try all one in my heavy tools tightening it. If it'll fit the zona I can get it out but wont go back without new cups!
  5. Buxtons best for me, had a walk round the park the other week and there's loads of potential
  6. Not too good bout the washer but the bike looks very nice! I'd consider a mod looking like that!
  7. Tell me bout it, I just spent best part of £400 gettin my heavy tools up and running!
  8. I tried before as well and it wouldn't let me
  9. Paint job in this makes it look like its got a crud catcher-esque mudguard running all the way to the BB! Liking the riding pics, looks a top riding spot!
  10. I've never bled my maggies, even my old blue mountains I had in 99 still work great and I bought them off a mate 2nd hand! May give em a bleed and if they're lucky some new fluid when they go back on my old skool rig and see if I can tell the difference!
  11. I just used the brush when I did mine at work the other night. Paint a bit of the bike with it, let it go off for a bit then paint a bit more over it and as you do if you push down firm it takes the old off then rinse that section with water whilst brushing it down to get rid of the last bits. Worked a treat for me!
  12. Depends, if they flex the frame/forks out when you pull them on you may see some improvement but other than that its probably an upgrade to hydros. Have you ground your rim or owt as well as that may help!
  13. That could be an option, may have to keep the drivetrain though as I'm loving the front freewheel single speed setup! It'd probably be pretty cheap to pick up some 521's nowadays and could always go back to front and rear maggys on it, got my old mountain blue ones still that I used to use that could go on with some new style clamps. Genius idea!!
  14. Hey all, a few of you might know I currently ride an old skool heavy tools stock but recently I picked up an old zenith frame for doing up. My original plan was fix and paint it then swap all the gear off the tools frame onto it to help improve my riding, the thing is there seems to be a come back of the old skool on here recently and its making me doubt my choice so do I; A. Get zenith fixed and swap everything over, job done B. Get zenith fixed, fit a headset and the viz forks I bought for it and sell on, or C. Get zenith fixed and build it up out of mainly 2nd hand parts (already got forks, bars and stem) to use as a 2nd bike so I've got the best of both worlds? D. As suggested by onzatrip, sort zenith and swap gear over then rebuild bits off heavy tools with oldskool kit If I go for C it just means it will be a long time building up as me and the wife have another kid on the way so money's gonna have to be saved where possible and I can't really see the point of having 2 trials bikes. D could be the way forward! Decisions, decisions!!!
  15. May be able to find a few roaming about as got the course set at my inlaws farm, will have to have a look!
  16. Nah its just the angle and the t shirt im wearing
  17. Cheers for replies guys, will just have to pull my finger out and sort picking these sleepers up! Got about 19 I think sat looking at me at work right now, been told I can take em all its just arranging it!
  18. Running 18/15 at the moment, not 100% on the height of the street sign I did but must have been +18" at least. Hopefully gettin hold of some railway sleepers soon (if I can get them picked up) so would you say its worth stacking them up and slowly increasing the height that way? Or even stacking some up as the approach to that box and taking them away as getting up gets easier? Reckon it should only take a few hours to sort if I can get the right technique and course setup!
  19. After making a small trials course yesterday, not much but good bit of practice, I fancy trying it back to front to practice dropping off with precision onto stuff and climbing up big obstacles. The problem is I tried going at it the wrong way but I just don't know how to approach the first bit, its a 3ft tall steel box. Pics of me dropping of it are here and I had a few go's and tried using a brick for a kicker at the bottom but everytime I failed miserably as I didn't have the confidence to go for it, just unsure what would be the best way to approach it, should I go for a half pedal or approach a bit faster, coast into it and try to hop up? Any advice at all would be great as this is whats currently limiting my riding ability, loads of walls and stuff nearby my gaff but I'd rather be able to jump up them on the bike than lift the bike up to have a play on top!
  20. I've got a longer Trialtech stem that I'm undecided on putting on yet as it means sticking some new bars on but might give it a try this week and see how it all feels!
  21. Here's a couple of vids I put together this weekend, nowt special just a bit of confidence building on my part on the good old Heavy Tools! First 2 are me half pedalling onto a street sign just over the road from where I live, never tried owt like this years ago as I was always scared of snapping something, either bike or body! And a short and a long vid of a basic trials course I setup today for a bit of practice at my inlaws farm, just a couple of tin bathtubs and a 3ft square steel box. Nowt massive but good for a bit of balance practice and dropping off. And I've got my helmet finally as well!!
  22. Here's a few pics of me dropping off a 3ft steaming cabinet I put at the end of a little trials course I made today for some practice and confidence building.
  23. Bloody poser! I could only afford STX-RC V's which were no better than canti's!
  24. Done a bit more today and yesterday so will get them posted, not brilliant but I can feel myself improving! Need to as well as I'm 27 now so my body starting to degrade!!! Vids are here and pics here!
  25. Too true, the only people who made trials specific parts were the riders bodging them out of other stuff. I remember gettin my dads mate to machine me a bashring out of stainless when I was about 14 (1997) to go on my 4 arm STX-RC cranks cause the only one I ever saw was the custom middleburn one made for Martyn Ashton! First frame I used for trials was a 15" one I got from some bike company who's catalogue was a giant leaflet you used to get in the back of MBUK and MBR mags! Who remembers Crud DCD chain tensioners??!!
