  1. Just out of interest what is a Kobe Tribal?? Searched on the net and can't find anything!
  2. I used to get this problem quite a bit, definately somewhere in the setup of your brake. Must be a bit of air in there somewhere or maybe not touching the rim very well/squarely. Don't want you to waste money on a disc when a bit of fiddling should fix you up. Besides, I've found more riders prefer a rim brake on the back than a disc as they tend to be better at biting!
  3. How much money you wanna spend an what kind of riding you looking at doing? Buying a front sus bike means the first thing you'll be doing is spending more money to get some new forks on it!
  4. Trust me to read this now I've already paid for a set of Viz forks off someone!! Mind you, I deffo won't be doin anything big enough to snap a pair of forks!!
  5. As sad as it sounds currently its nailing half pedalling onto the street sign down the road earlier on tonight as its not summat I'd normally attempt. Usually shit it trying summat like that but recently been thinking sod it and having a go, not that big but a pretty good accomplishment for myself!
  6. Are the SL's no good?? I'm after some cheap forks for my Zenith and there's some sl's in for sale section but if they're not to be trusted I may give them a miss!
  7. Can either get just a 22t sprocket to fit on your cranks and ask if anyone on here knows what would be a good combo on the rear or if you plan on gettin a proper trials rig setup I'd get new cranks, front sprocket and bashring sorted. From my personal experience I'd recommend TartyBikes for that stuff, really quick with deliveries and stuff and if your not sure what you need they're very helpful on the phone an can give you some good advice!
  8. Been busy at work tonight I can tell you, been stripping the paint off my new project. She's a bit beaten up but that doesn't bother me, should hopefully clean up very nicely by the time I've finished! And a pic of the stem I got from Ben Travis, bit of a rub down and respray and its (almost) as good as new!! Love workin nights as got loads of time to do jobs like this, if I could build wheels I could make a small fortune doin foreigners at work!!
  9. Definately too big on the front mate, I run an 18t front and 15t on the rear from advice I got on here and I find it absolutely perfect. This is coming from a 22t front and 7 speed rear cassette so was quite different but I can't recommend it highly enough!
  10. He he, got some big hacksaw cuts in it where I'm assuming Ben had to cut his top cap off so never gonna look perfect but hoping it'll look nice ish for at least 1 day before I fall off! Oh yes, been at work since 6.40pm, only another 7 hours 20 minutes to go, and if I'm not careful I might have something to do at round about 4am ish!!
  11. Just a quickie for everyone, lacquering my stem at work tonight and not sure how many coats to do. Already given it 2 so will that be enough or should I go for 1 more for good measure??
  12. They've got immense pain written all over them, definately a no no with shorts an no shinpads!!
  13. I know what you mean, the mag is quite good really, the website lets it down a lot!
  14. Got my Trialtech sport stem off Ben Travis the other day so brought it to work with me last night. Plan was to rub it down and respray it but numpty boy here forgot to take a before pic, got one after I rubbed it down with some fine wet and dry and after spraying so gonna get it lacquered at work tonight and will post pics of how she's turned out. For a first time doin summat like this I think I've done a good job!
  15. Don't know if you've ever seen it but there is a trials magazine out and whilst not solely bike trials it does have a lot in. Not like MBUK's 2 pages they dedicate Trials Magazine have competition results, interviews, bike and part tests and is pretty good in my view. Made by a guy my dad knows here in the good old High Peak. Checkout their website its here
  16. Think yourself lucky it wasn't your back wheel that stayed on! I did that years ago on a 5ft wall, nosedived to the ground and pretzled my brand new mavic rim on impact!! First thing I did when I got the chance was tackle a similar drop to prove to myself that I COULD do it!
  17. Nice one, thats the kind of info I was looking for thanks!

Don't know if anyone on here will remember a cartoon movie from years ago called Ferngully:The Last Rainforest but if they do its basically the same just not in 3D, and also terrible.Although this is just my opinion so I welcome peoples comments who enjoyed the film, can't stand when people say they don't like something and won't accept otherwise, especially the old XBox v PS3 argument!!
  19. Gentle now sam, I can't afford that much!! Tell you what, sod it I'll take the frame. At the end of the day its only £20 an if I decide I don't like it I can always stick it back on here. Not like I've never spent more than £20 on summat I didn't use, bought a Specialized Rockhopper brand new for bout £750 a few years ago, took it off road over south head once an sold it a few weeks later for bout £575!

I just can't see how that works, is the story different in the 3d version?!
  21. I'm confused, was considering buying Muels old Zenith frame off him, fixing it, respraying it then swapping all the kit off my Heavy Tools onto it but after a bit of research on the net it turns out that both frames weigh near enough exactly the same! So will I gain anything in running a more modern trials specific frame compared to my Heavy Tools Trials which I believe is officially a 14.75" frame when my overall bike will weigh exactly the same? My brain hurts, HELP!!

Wasted over 2 hours of my life last night watching Avatar, should never have believed the hype.
  23. Cheers for the comments! Was only at it for bout 2 years last time I rode, helmet arrived today after I finally got round to ordering. May be getting a Zenith frame to swap all my gear onto soon so will see how things go then, as for now I'm slowly getting back into the swing. Just a pain where I live as there's nowt to ride!!
  24. Yeah like I said it was mainly a tester for the camera to see what the quality was like and just have a quick go with an editing program. Gonna try an get a better program for editing as the one I used was only a freebie, and helmet shall be ordered later on tonight!
