  1. Trials doesn't seem to need the other types of muscle fibre though (slow/intermediate) as much as fast twitch. Unless you're an endurance trials rider it's likely you're going to do a section and have a load of recovery time. So it would be best to keep your weight down and strength up. Rather than beasting it in the dead-lifts and becoming a powerhouse who's body weight is stopping them. After all a lot of strength is acceleration anyway.
  2. Like a boss, back to the high jumpers doing trials. I'm mates with the under 18's UK long jump champion (I think that's his title) and he does an incredible amount of plyometrics and weighted plyometrics and very little heavy lifting as that builds too much weight when compared to the minimal weight gain/power gain of other methods. I assume the same principle applies to trials?
  3. Depends what coating you want, powdercoating can range from about £30-£60 for a frame..
  4. Love his riding, such a different style to everyone else. Music was a bit dodgy, but enjoyed it
  5. Surely 'plyometric' training would be the best workout for trials, rather than lifting. As it increases the speed at which muscles can contract and the power they exert when doing so. So in sidehops for example, you'd want strong fast twitch 'explosive' muscles not very strong slow twitch muscles from lifting heavy weights. Correct me if I'm wrong..
  6. It's december 2011 now, where's the full video?
  7. Love his riding This was mostly him doing front hops and riding around.. I still loved it.
  8. The style in that was mental! The manual roughly halfway through round the edge of the wall down, in front of it up onto a different wall to 360 off. (did that from memory, correct?) Either way it was bloody awesome, your riding really motivated me to go out and get better at street! Edit: I was wrong, I got two clips mixed up.. both of them were great though
  9. I hate you for introducing this to me! oi, oi, oi oi, oi, oi, oi E para quebrar kuduro.. Again, damn you!
  10. I'm sure many people do, care to elaborate a bit?
  11. Having never met Oli. I felt it appropriate to read the entire thread to get a feel of what he was like as a person, and loved what I read. Not one bad thing said about him, and the forum all pulling together to complete what he started and was clearly passionate about, is really good to see. I'll certainly contribute when some money comes my way. Makes you realise how accidents like this can happen to the best of us, would hate to see this happen to anyone else. Thoughts are with his family, and obviously you guys on here who were close to him. Oli
  12. The last part of the video was monster! I can't believe I thought of stopping watching after a min or so of skatepark riding! Really like those to fronts in there, taking your foot off musty be a bit risky on the ol' shins when it goes wrong though
  13. What bike do you ride? I'm sure that there's components on your bike which aren't the lightest, saves the effort and permanent damage to your frame!
  14. Did you look at the picture? As a started bike I think that'd be fine, although something newer might help you progress faster.
  15. Are you joking? I have a set up front at the moment, and they are the most dangerous thing you can put on a bike. It's like riding brakeless, but you don't know when it's going to hold or not! Edit: And that's in the dry! on a medium grind!
  16. Nah there's a hub there, he's most of the way there
  17. Yeah after about 2 hours I start to get bored, and also doing buggy races.. those things are sh*t! But for the first hour or so it's great fun
  18. I play loads of rugby, so I've kinda got myself into being as fit/strong as I can whilst still being light. As I get lifted in the lineouts, they would complain if I was heavy! So I'd say rugby and fitness were my hobbies and also playing DiRT 3, love that game!
  19. Where are the xmas eve rides for us South Eastern folk?!

  20. Flip you look so dialled on that Marino! The guys face at about 1:55 standing next to the sidehop did make me chuckle Last clip looked like a proper arse stinger! Keep it up
  21. Repost, although it is such a good video! Really like the way it's been produced, nice fun atmosphere with sweet riding
  22. In winter I get more of an, 'I'm gonna nail that b*****d mince pie right now' feeling. Failing that, watch things like this before going out riding. WHO AM I?!
  23. Love how simple that looks, no flashy editing just a rider and some rocks
  24. Depends how big your hill is I suppose! But I agree with Mark, sounds as if it would do more harm than good
  25. Love that front rim, looks good with the plain coloured bike
