  1. I work in one of the only local bikeshops around here and why would you even think of recommending people should pay for work to be done? Labour cost is stupid in most shops. Everyone should learn to do their own work, if they then decide they're too lazy fair enough, throw it in a bike shop, otherwise hey! Money saved.
  2. Hmm well I dont mind building to be honest, just f**king hate delacing, especially when my old spoke key was shit and rounded half the nips off. Might just leave the hub for now and do the rim, it's a raw'd Echo Urban 09 I think with a dead ground sidewall, I'll smooth it then tape and spray.
  3. Atm my wheel build is perfectly true, theres no even any up or down. As Sam said I cba with delacing and rebuilding, it's so boring, I'd rather try it the way I've asked for information about.
  4. Sounds like so much more effort than painting them
  5. Including the spoke heads? Nipples?
  6. Heya guys, wanting to paint my hub / rim but im too lazy to delace it. A few of my bmx mates just used to spray the entire wheel but I'd like to keep my white spokes. Saw someone had done it on here a while ago with a tiny paintbrush. What paints would you recommend me use for this task? Hub / rim are going to be matt black so no laquer to paint over.
  7. If I ever make a video, it'll have something similar to this faded into the background so bike noises are still there.
  8. It's chilled and it isnt heavy dubstep. Can't see it fitting into a video though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sexYYIxFYAg
  9. Coming from a guy that went from magura blacks anything would be amazing, didnt you mention it was already starting to slip?
  10. I'm in love with the original silver sky so I'd keep that personally.
  11. Pink tech would be the Pink Tech x2's
  12. Probably best with your brake, it's a decent brake but not sure how it holds for trials.
  13. 203mm will put undue stress on the disk tab and will shorten the frames life span, it'll also put more stress on spokes which could result in some snapping. You could get away with a 180mm although I wouldn't recommend it. Dh use 203mm rotors because they need constantly high braking, the bigger rotor helps to keep things cool and keep braking consistant. Smaller rotors start to glaze when subjected to long periods of constand braking and the brakes will fade.
  14. anything other than 160mm is overkill on a mod. Just throw water on the brake and drag it around a lot, keep repeating until it gets better again. Personally I've just bought 2x Alligator 160mm's. Haven't fitted them yet as I'm waiting for brakes to arrive but they look pimp and are light as f**k.
  15. If I can get my brakes sorted I'll be in for Reading.
  16. Looked lazy and sloppy yet still impressive stuff, must be the weight
  17. I phoned today and whoever I spoke to wasn't 100% sure and sounded busy at the time, to save the lads hassle I thought I'd ask the community In the basket now.
  18. Gunna be buying these tomorrow, anyone going to say yay/nay before I go ahead?
  19. Heya guys, getting some Hope Tech V2's next week at some point, already have 160mm rotors on their way for it, they're post mount so I'm having to get 2x this. Am I right in thinking its Adaptor A for front 160mm and Adaptor F for rear 160mm?
  20. Paid for some Tech V2's last night, saw the change and started to have second thoughts, the fact you might be able to bodge them sounds awesome!
  21. Buy a pack of 36spokes for £10-15 or purchase them for £1 each at my place of work?
  22. In my place of work we charge by the hour rather than by job because all we get are peice of shit bikes that take 10x longer to fix than they should. £40 an hour, typical build from scratch takes about 90mins, plus spokes (cunty owner charges £1.50 per spoke + 30p per nipple) you'll be looking at about £90 for a wheel build. I need to find a new job.
