  1. Just replaced a 130mm 30deg mod stem with a 165mm 35deg. At least I think it was a mod stem
  2. From what I've seen of other stocks with high bb's they run short mod stems, around the 125/130mm 20-25deg mark.
  3. All 160mm bb7's I've used felt like if you tried stopping with any speed it'd just snap your forks clean. They're absolutely LETHAL.
  4. I agree, the forum is full of bitchy manchildren and I'm one of them. If it wasn't for the classified section I don't think I'd visit often. I think for a front it'd be okay but I wouldn't trust it on rear.
  5. Nitromorse, working your way up with different grit sandpaper and then polishing or acid dipping (if it is even the correct term) and having it come out (as far as I know) polish... Hmm touch choice. I'd rather pay £25-30 to drop something off and pick it up then pay £10-15 and then waste a lot of my own time doing a halfarsed job.
  6. Did you even read the entire post? And why mock weight weenies? Yes some go too far but so do the hundreds of "HURR TOO LIGHT GO POO" comments I've seen.
  7. New mini master looks wank imo, and they've got rid of discs :/ Not that I'd buy one anyway but the old was such a fun bike to ride.
  8. The i3 isnt actually a bad processor for the cost, doesnt list the speed of ram but I assume it'd be 1333mhz. That "intel graphics card" is actually just the gpu built onto either the motherboard or the cpu (can't remember if the i3 has on-die or not) and will be terrible for anything graphics related.
  9. Would love to ride there if only I had puncture proof tubes
  10. Dye those jeans an asortment of colours, shrink them in the wash and move down south and you've got me ;D Minus sidehops.
  11. Hey guys, looking at getting my frame acid dipped just so I can get that pimp polished look, I'm going to phone around tomorrow whilst work is quiet but I'm wondering from first hand experiances how its been for you? By that I mean how well was the finish once it came out? Did it need polishing at all? How much was it when you got it done? etc. Cheers, Mikey.
  12. I'm not saying the brake itself is shit, just the performance is, my front discs have always been amazing, I just have no luck with rear It's a lot better now, can be temperamental at times but I've moved my reach in and I'm getting more power out of it. As for the front wheel all the spokes are tight and the wheel is still true after 3-4months use, trying controlled stops it flex's and shudders a bit, might be forks flexing though.
  13. Yeah they're vented, kinda dissapointing though because its a really loud squeel and the rear brake goes to shit at the same time. I imagine somehow I've contaminated newpads / rotor / brake despite being stupidly careful. Not much bite or hold on the rear still and when it slips it makes a growling noise. Front is amazing, only problem is that my wheel is built 2x and flex's like a fanny.
  14. Did the person who named that town just smash his head into the keyboard?
  15. So you've basically just destroyed 2 frames within hours of being built? Fair play to you
  16. The fact that he's popular means he probably has all of TF on facebook and we already know about it.
  17. From the looks of things Bristol has a big trials scene, go talk to any and all trials riders you see about, introduce yourself, make friends etc. Chances are you'll be able buy enough bits from them or they could give you advice on whats good or not in regards to buying off of here.
  18. Heya guys, cleaned calipers, brand new pads and rotor, touch of water on the discs to help bed them in and they squeak / honk like crazy. Sounds similar to a contaminated brake but only happens when wet and they are still bedding in. Are these brakes just noisy when wet? Or shall I wait until they've bedded in more?
  19. Filed adaptors down and added 1mm of washers and it fits
  20. Sigh. I had ordered 180mm rotors until someone I spoke to at Tarty said this brake could run 160mm with the A and F adaptors. I then asked to change my rotors and just caught them in time. Apart from filing down the mounts I'm looking at another £18 per rotor and the shipping cost to send my mounts back? Edit* turns out my rear caliper only needs 1-2mm of spacers either side and with the onza sliding disc tab should be fine. Front Is the one pictured.
  21. So you think it'd be better to grab less of the disc and run it how it is?
  22. Nevermind whether the adaptor is the wrong way around, it does it with both brakes and both adaptors in varying positions. Click#1 Click#2
  23. Thank you. New question. V2 calipers wont fit on my IS-Post adaptors, caliper hits the adaptor. Can I get away with filing the adaptor? Or do I have to bite the bullet and waste yet more money replacing my brand new rotors for 180's and getting new adaptors?
  24. New question, post #3 Got a tech V2, selling forgot to include the pads aswell as giving a false description of the levers At least he's refunding me enough to get some clarks pads for it. Organic or sintered for trials?
