  1. I really dont wanna seam like im up craigs ass or just bumming for the sake of it... But... I have to totally disagree with your comments, His work is saleable and from what I can remember (site offline now) it would appeal to a large market. Im fully aware your teachers at university know better, after all thats why they teach (oh wait, theyre crap I forgot..) Sorry to rain on your parade but your probably being taught everything you dont need to know and loosing the element of design which makes it special.. ie passion and interest. Even if craig wasnt producing anything worth looking at, having dedication, belief and interest will get you a million times further than any degree. either way, put your money where your mouth is, lets see this freelance work then. (as for his abreviations and "unreadable" logos bla bla bla... check out 123klan even 2advanced - both technically bad designs with unreadable elements, both top of the game. FULL STOP.
  2. who cares, grab a bargain.
  3. He just had the ideal shot... her head was out of it but then she realised and thought that posing for this would get her noticed and she'd become a supermodel. bless.

  5. I know your probably not looking at it, but her belly button??!?!? euurrghhh Normally wouldnt say no but in that lineup shes definatly not the bestest
  6. everyone does things differently, I dont ever use layer masks and I dont ever desaturate to make black+white. There are no right/wrong ways - infact you can achieve the same thing in photoshop but get there using hundreds of different methods... I would have duplicated the image, made one (the top layer) greyscale: Image > Adjust > channel mixer > Tick "monochrome" if you wanna adjust the level of greyscale/black white use: image > adjust > brightness/contrast - that way its exactly what you want... Then i woulld have made that layer 30-50% opacity so i could see undeneith properly and brush away the areas I wanted the colour to show through.. Alternativly on the colour copy.. Select > Colour range (choose reds and adjust accordingly assuming you want red parts) and then copy those ontop of the layer... Doesnt matter how you do it, as long as you end up where you wanna be.
  7. all ipods have the same "dock" or input/output cable (other than the shuffle) so anything designed for an ipod (by apple or other) will be suitable.
  8. #6... are those real? lol.. bit of google research... She looks pretty fkin amazing, we must admit... same girl, less camera work/tweaking etc and err... Can't hotlink so click here in the words of borat... "not so much"

covert her, if you wanna know how watch cruel intentions only number 1, others are pure shite.
  10. it can be, want to do my paperwork? (not meant in a snobby way, but thats kinda the point of the bauhaus, that was revolutionary to be using pre-cast cheap concrete slabs etc, mixing with steel/glass.. hadn't been done before and shows how economical the method was by the fact its now so common you think of it in the like of offices ) Also because of the nazi's splitting up the school forcing a lot of the tutors/pupils to flea abroad meant a lot of the teachings/theoris traveled abroad as well!
  11. the effort involved proves your worthyness of representing your feelings in such an abreviation.
  12. kind of agree, walter gropius (founder of the bauhaus) made a cool house though.. Gallery: http://architecture.about.com/od/greatbuil...iushouse010.htm

off topic but slightly related.. You know the teacher whos class named the bear mohamed... I understand the concept as to why it wasnt aproved of (naming someone god for example) so why are there soooo many people called mohamed? is there a line between humans claiming to be god and teddy bears? The crowds of people protesting saying she should have the death penalty, I cant think of a bigger waste of lifes than those devoted to that religion.

After watching zeitgeist (sp) and already being a non believer I couldn't be any less interested in religion... I agree to an extent that following the bible will lead you down a "better" path but religion can cause SOOO much trouble as well.. I think it resonable to be religious in older generations, when these "miracles" couldnt be explained but so much has happened since then coupled with the complete lack of an argument against scientific explanations from the bible :/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_EXqdJ4L7I LOL
  15. aarrffff I must agree, Tis very eye catching and good design, Theres just nothing about any of those that make me...... jaw dropped. Still not got the wow factor for me, Would happily keep turning the pages if I saw them in an architecture book. I appreciate thats not the case for everyone, But i will endevour to find some more examples!
  16. without meaning to offend, this website is years ahead of tarty. -- "KO Bikes Iris Bash Ring" Isnt that meant to be isis? http://www.trials-uk.co.uk/product.aspx?productid=62
  17. Peter Zumthor: Ive never heard of him so assume these are the works your talking about (so others can see) in my opinion, theyre nice but not fantastic or radical, Again my opinion but a completly different league.
  18. Seeing as someone mentioned architecture, I thought id post some amazing stuff just to get you thinking... Im big-time into architecture find myself using it for inspiration for smaller projects, I'd love to have been an architect and if I actually get to a point where I could support myself financially for another 7 years would happily train for it... I really like my brutalist architecture, sometimes modernist.. King of this is Tadao Ando: Just a tease... Soooooo many more amazing projects! lol. Also, of course zaha hadid, my favourite is in cincinati.. Also vitra fire station is mental.. Found this on mocoloco, wicked idea! http://www.zerohouse.net/ Theres another cool building i found, Links graphic design and architecture completly... Need to remember the site so i can hotlink if not i'll upload my saved piccies. Anyone got any good design blog kinda websites, www.mocoloco.com is the only one i'd recomend to people. (ps I havent written much about any of the architects/buildings as i assume people dont wanna read... also just finished a 7000 word essay on tadao ando and previously did one on hadid.. lol )
  19. I think its because its an internet funeral in a war game... that attacking it is actually very funny... I think that comment about dropping loot is pretty harsh but at the end of the day, people die and unless you know them.. it doesnt really matter. Sounds incredibly harsh again but before you go hating me realise that its true, its tragic for young people to die but it happens Also, being trials-forum we actually meet up in the real world, Where these guys will never meet so it makes it easier to say/do whatever you like.
  20. Firstly Simon is one of the most competitant coders i've come accross, trials-shack and various other ecomerce solutions all w3c compliant etc is a big enough tick in my books... as for this Im subscribed to ICON which also comes with a free subscription to grand designs magazine as its a sister magazine... ICON is ususally pretty good but i dont usually bother looking at GD as its crap. http://www.iconeye.com/ http://www.iconmagazine.co.uk/ I used to buy computerarts but it was a bit too "geeky" side of design and other than the pretty pictures I wasnt interested. Covered too much of a wide area.
  21. So true and an unfortunate truth is that there are a stupid amount of "graphic designers" out there and again, unfortunatly university/college dont teach you 1% of the things you actually need to know. Still, a qualification is a step closer to getting your foot through the door. If you can build a personal portfolio you'll be miles ahead of any graduate, if you cant get paid work do some work for free and you'll soon find yourself with paid contracts. I have no training for graphic/web/print design other than a self taught passion, as said earlier i've twice been offered fulltime very well paid jobs. I've also activly freelanced for 3 or more big companies and a few private jobs. None of which have been chased by myself, Always approached.
  22. Dont think i knew him but always awful to hear about young people dieing. RIP and hope everyone related and friends is ok.
