  1. if he bought a 2011 maggy and didnt need to cut the near 1.5m hose down he must have a hell of a long wheelbase! lol basically mate i'd give the brake a good bleed, clean the surface of your old pads and make sure they're straight, make sure the pads are setup properly with the rim. if they wont go properly your hs33 mounts may not be 100% straight (they never are) if so you can file them yourself or get tarty to do them. also i would check my rim is 100% straight and if you have an old nasty grind.. re-do it. oh also what booster did you buy? i have an echo 4 bolt and its bendy as shit! apparently the trialtech one is the one to go for.
  2. Ive got an echo lever with 2011 maggy slaves on it and its a beast! It has a magura oil bleed and its strong as heck!
  3. Hey roadies! Im looking for a road bike to do long distance biking on etc. Has anyone got any road bikes they would want to swap for a mod trials bike or just sell? Can you pm me if you do, thank you in advance! Carl
  4. are you 100% sure the lacing pattern was the same? im assuming that as you managed to lace it yourself its the same, but just thought id ask anyway. and if i were you i would just get a spoke key and practice truing it yourself, its worth learning, a few quid now will save you having to pay others to do it in the future.
  5. learnt it on the ride, took me about 2 minutes to learn... haha, im thinking if i go off something a little higher i can get a 360 back off. HAHA yeah does abit.
  6. white rim, black tape. thats what i have, looks cool. but at the end of the day its your decision
  7. is that flirting laurence?? haha. im just happy i learnt to crank spin (useless trick) and 180 back off which just looks cool.
  8. ok so i have a tensile 60 click on my mod, and frankly its crap, skips and engages crap. can i send it to tartys etc for serivcing to make it better? or should i just get a new freewheel?
  9. nice one cheers mate, i have no idea, never used the stuff.. cheers for the info.
  10. ok i think ill go with the nitromors option, i dont mind a bit of elbow grease. ill most probably sand down the areas around the threaded bits so i dont get nitromors in the holes then paint strip the rest, as long as it definatley wont bugger up the head tube or weaken the frame etc. i wont go for shotblasting cos i dont have a spare BB. oh and how do you remove powdercoat?? i take it nitromors wont touch that? i have powdercoated forks and would like to raw them too..
  11. ok so im going to raw a frame, decided to use nitromors as everyone seems to recommend it. does nitromors have any effect on BB threads, 4 bolt threads, headtube strength etc?? either that or i might just get it shotblasted which is cheap and easy, but then how do i clean out the threads etc after? any help much appreciated! carl.

    Siiiick!

    sorry if its a re-post
  13. go for my setup? i have a kenda blue groove rear DH tyre, super thick sidewall. 1100g -ish if im lucky, and a super heavy duty downhill tube, 625g i will never puncture.... lol
  14. ok so ive just run a hope mono trial front brake through the steerer tube, everythings fine it just needs a little re-bleed. the only problem in having is that when i nip up the bolts that hold the caliper to the forks.. the caliper gets pulled on an angle and the rotor doesent run straight between the pads, so it seems like i have a bent disc mount. but the forks are pretty new and have never taken a bang.. anyone know how to sort this?? i can get pics tomorrow.
  15. yeah i looked at that but wasnt sure if anything was different with braided hose. turns out its not, dont the front brake now.. was way easier than i thought.. cheers guys!
  16. ok so im going to run my hope brake with braided hose through the stem... which of these parts will i need? a friend of mine said just a new olive (number 6) but i thought id just make sure http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/disc_brake_spares/hope_hose_spares/c110p10808.html any help much appreciated!
  17. i used to work in a paint shop, that colour can be mixed very easily but getting the frame painted could cost upwards of £100. powdercoat will be around 35/40 for frame and forks. i had mine done in kawasaki green powdercoat, its not the metallic colour your after but its pretty nice i think, got the forks done in white too.. £30 finding a powdercoaters to do that colour will be VERY difficult obviously paint isnt as tough as powdercoat.. "But whatever you do don't spray it's gay. Scratches off too easily" EASIER yes. EASY.. No. paint is still pretty tough if done properly. but whatever you put on there will come off if the frame takes a bang on a sidehop etc.. basically if its looks you desperate for - get the paint and be abit more careful when throwing your frame around if its cost thats an issue - get powdercoat edit. ring these: http://www.aerocoat.net/ the guys very good with colours, cheap, good job and will do it for less if paying cash. they are near great yarmouth in norfolk
  18. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/other_frame_spares/procarbon_racing_carbon_fibre_downtube_protector/c127p11313.html any good?
  19. play sounds more like it would be used as a brand name for budget condoms.
  20. nah, 6 quid star nut/topcap/bolt kit from tartys, 2 new brake hoses and jobs done in 20 mins.. lol
  21. run front brake through stem? and lengthen rear brake hose?
  22. i dont know if this will nececcerily (spelling?) help you but when i do it, i really jump forwards, then while my left foot is coming over the frame i really kick the rear end round and pump the bars, i jump really high too so i land on the tyre when the frame has already gone round about 1/4 of the way. the endo way is to do a 180 endo and mid-endo remove your right foot (if spinning to the left) and stand on the tyre, lift left leg over... bike keeps going round, you stop and stand on the tyre, hope this kinda helps you out
  23. ahh i see, so do you think i should try the 3x disc, 2x non disc? if it turns out to be wrong or the hub isnt centred between the dropouts properly etc ill just send it all in to tartys to have someone who know what they are doing do it haha. cheers for all your help and patience mark. much appreciated!
