  1. dc's all the way for me. tk maxx every time, I've never parted with more than 25 quid for a pair. best riding shoes, and for 25 quid it doesn't matter how long they last. mine are 6 months old now and still feel comfy
  2. thought this was quite good, nice to see trials on quite a high level
  3. when i get new bars, which will be high rise trialtechs more than likely, i`ll spray the stem to suit
  4. so here is an update, have gone dual disk now. got a 2012 shimano deore, with a 180mm rotor, and a new rear wheel. its an onza pro diamond rim on a viz disk hub. i have also sprayed my front wheel matt black to match the rear wheel, it looks miles better now. its rides amazingly well now
  5. bfw wouldnt work, as most trials freewheels are threaded so the lockring is self tightening. you put it on the back, the lockring will naturally unwind itself over time, and it'll explode. you'd need 22/18 gearing as well, and i doubt youd have enough clearance in most mod frames. mine was the same ratio 18/12, and it was only 48 click I think, it was a profile mini cassette hub. sounded nice though, but my tensile freewheel is loads better. I'm confident it's not gonna let go, where as the profile you were never quite sure.
  6. profiles are shite. I spun the driver ring inside the hub shell, and im not that much of a rider who kills parts. and the parts are very expensive to replace. would never have another, and everyone I've ever spoke to says the same thing. ffw all the way from now on, even if its a tensile 60 click if you are on a budget
  7. you want the old style clear nitromors, it's f**king lethal. got a right scar on my arm from it. that's what I did the Ashton with
  8. yes it would. get a 165 x 35. you'll feel like your arse is 6 ft in the air otherwise. and for the ultimate in back wheel feel, roll your bars forward Carthy/ Dave Kerr/ Ross Clayton style. it'll work amazingly well. you'll be near vertical on the back wheel, and get loads of power into a gap
  9. get the train from London to Chelmsford, and it's a 3 mile drive from Chelmsford to barrow farm. should be much more than a tenner for a taxi. I'm sure mick and Maria or jack would do the honourable thing seen as you have travelled from Spain to ride
  10. got the new pads today, f**king result!!! I've never had a brake this good. it's either on or off, simple as that. didn't even have to bed it in so to speak, just made sure the disk was clean and degreased, did the wax on wax off thing on a sheet of 400 grit wet and dry. gave it a wipe and installed it on my wheel. put new pads in, Ashima semi metals, and it just worked, no hassle. many thanks to dezmtber for sorting me out
  11. should be there depending on what time I get back from my night out
  12. that's a common mod for cranks line that. proper trials cranks have enough offset so that doesn't happen. middleburns are the same.
  13. i`m with you dave. she`d get it all over, and so would all of them to be fair. i`m pretty shallow, i`ll have a go on owt
  14. you can get them off chain reaction for £40, but i dont know how much the shipping would be to france. but they dont come with disks or adapters. i got a deal on mine where i got 2 disks and the right adapter for the rear for not a lot. its this one http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=67246 ive only ever had one hope brake, a mono trial and it was shite. wouldnt have another. i run this shimano and an echo tr and they are both very good, loads of bite and hold
