  1. That's a valid point, I just guessed trials ones still used the lock ring! I think mine is around that size, you can get different ones though anyway. To be completely honest with you I am now trying to think of ways of building up cheap 700c fixie wheels and ripping off clueless hipsters on ebay now haha In all fairness, I'm sure I could pull off calling onza an old school italian racing company
  2. I paid 50 quid for the bike so spending £35 on just a hub seemed silly. I managed to pick up a whole wheel with both a freewheel and a fixed cog for £25 though Someone suggested I used a 135mm fixed trials hub, has anyone used this on a road bike? I quite like the idea, they're low flange so it'd look pretty neat
  3. Couldn't find any cheap ones, the local bike shop has saved the day though - just picked up a bargain
  4. So I picked up this old raleigh racer on ebay this weekend (impulse buy) with the intention of stripping it down and turning into a fixie (hipster as f*ck, I know) I've pretty much got all the parts I need except a rear hub... I found a few online for around £30 but then you add a cog, freewheel, lock nut and spokes on top of that and it ends up pretty expensive (bike was cheap as chips so I'd like to build it with out putting much money into it) I don't know if it's just me but surely a flip flop hub is almost as simple as a front hub (those you can pick up for a tenner), does anyone happen to have one lying around you'd be willing to sell or do you know of anywhere that sells them at a decent price? (f*ck all on ebay atm)
  5. More trialsy street trials, love it! Although I can't say that's how I ride and I'll probably look like a bit of a hypocrite here but flowy trials lines are a lot more enjoyable to watch than when people focus on the bmx'y stuff
  6. That's just made my day
  7. I'm thinking of some kind of mega jam bicycle olympics type event haha It'd be well better than watching the X-Games!
  8. Tell you what, it'd be quite cool to get some of the highest hoppers from across the board (all kinds of bikes) and see who's got the highest hop over all
  9. I still hop dead straight, bad habit from bmx ha And yeah, I have mine pretty slammed, not into the whole 10" rise bars/top load stem stuff so the 24" is a lot easier to lift up. Also, I think it's Rob Wise hopping over the two people, that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen ha
  10. It may have been, I'm not sure. It wouldn't surprise me if you could go as high if not higher though, I find my 24" a lot easier to hop than the bmx even though you need to go higher to clear stuff because of the bigger wheels.
  11. Gabe Brooks has the unofficial highest hop at the moment I think, it got up to 44" at simple session, he couldn't do it and Chad Kerley got the win but then he asked to put it up another 5" and he cleared that as if it was nothing
  12. World records are generally quite lame on bikes and a lot of the times there are many people who have done stuff better just didn't happen to have the judge there with measuring tape...
  13. As a BMXer I think the world record drop title will always belong to either Sean Burns or Jimmy Levan... http://www.fatbmx.com/uploads4/2010Q2/wk23/jlevangap.jpg - not to flat but still amazing every time I see it
  14. That was awesome on so many different levels! Putting the trials back in street trials as well! Rad style, great lines and some ballsy moves all over the place
  15. Thanks! Although I couldn't quite get it as smooth as I would have liked, those hops annoy me every time I see it ha
  16. Definitely, check this out if you want - he sums it up really well https://vimeo.com/74612469 http://youtu.be/-LMEVmjt0L0 Happy now?
  17. awesome, give me a shout! Thanks buddy! Cheers haha thanks! Thanks man, see you in Glasgow hopefully! Also, the pedal ups are something I "developed" when I failed at learning the proper front hook things haha They still get me up stuff so I don't mind
  18. Cheers! And definitely, when are you guys next in pompey?
  19. Thanks, this is my third video since I got a trials bike, watch the other 2 if you want http://youtu.be/vA_-zYS79cQ and then this about 3 months later and now this one another 3 months later
  20. Hop ones are not so bad, the one from a fakie manual took a while to figure out though And that's rad, go out and do some wheelies!
  21. It's something I do brakeless on my bmx, pretty much a lawnmower just without the brake. This one was brakeless too but simply because the lever was on the opposite side and I'm too lazy to learn them the other way
  22. Bad habit from BMX, I put a lid on when I go upside down
