Sweet looking spot youve got going!
-
And if its leaking at the piston is it an expensive fix?
-
well there doesnt seem to be a visible leak, so its just gotta be changing out the pads i guess!! thanks for the help!
-
And how can I know if there is a leak? and where would it likely be?
-
Just used boiled water, soaked them, then a tiny bit of sandpaper to clean the surface, soaked in boiling water again and then dried and put back on. Its only the back brake, the front is working really well. Yeah i was thinking id need new pads What causes contamination, is it literally just dirt from riding?
-
Hey all, So basically as the title says my rear pads are F***ked again. This is now the third time in a month. They are the same pads mind you. Ive boiled the pads and the rotor, cleaned the crap out of them, cleaned the brake itself quite well, and they work fine for a few rides and then they start to slip again, this time it came out of nowhere and sent me off a wall onto my arse!ha My plan was to get new pads and give the brakes a bleed maybe 3 weeks before radfest, so they'd be bedded in by the time i got there, but it looks like i'm gonna have to do that sooner. Has anyone any idea whats causing the contamination? when i rub the rotor its got a black oily film on it, but it seems to come on quite quickly which makes me think theres a leak?could there be a seal gone somewhere?I dont want to buy new pads and have them ruined straight away you no? Just in case its relevant the brakes are hope tech trials, and the pads are hope standards (the darker ones then the pros?). Any help is appreciated Bernard

Nice little video mate

Happy days mate!!
-
yeah was thinking it was a good exercise for learning how to maintain the front end balance, gonna practice it this afternoon, weather permitting! Did that last night myself! Finger slipped off the lever in the wet, was more comical than painful for me! Ha
-
I'd stick with your plan for the element, like I said before, I have a fourplay and I've never looked back! Plus like I said I'm considering doing a DJ build using a 24 inspired frame, thats the faith I have that it can handle it. I wouldn't claim to no much about the geo of bikes, but from my experience with djs and now the inspired I'd go the inspired

Sounds like a nice all weather spot! Haha yeah thats exactly my issue, i think i might try get my hands on a few pallets and try to build up the height, rather than worrying about walls for the minute!
-
Grass would be a good idea for practicing this would it? Haha thats commitment! I stayed out for about 40minutes and just gave up! not pleased with the skitzo weather!
-
Haha dont worry man, i'll be lucky if i manage a up to front on a footpath! I get what your saying man, I'll give that a go tomorrow! Went out for a ride there tonight, but started to piss rain almost instantly! TYPICAL!!
-
cheers mate, I think I'll try just grab it by the balls and go for it
-
This, i have to say,is very reassuring to hear!! every time i see some guy mounting a picnic table super smoothly, or gapping like a pro after 3 weeks i get fairly worried and disheartened. Trying to make my movements smooth is something ive been working hard on as well!
-
my good god, thats ballsy!.... yeah i get pretty bad pains in my arm and wrist too, i just need to start thinking less about what ifs and be more aggressive. Actually got a new camera today, might take it out tomorrow and see if the camera makes me a bit braver?
-
As far as i can see you can print off a collect + form from the returns section. I had to return my POC helmet to them a while back using their returns form and it went smoothly enough
-
Thats a great motto to ride to man, i think whats slowing my progress somewhat is the fear of damaging my arm again! i broke it very severely a few years back and was told that was the end of physical sports for me... but i cant stay off bikes you no?
-
Nice riding! Also the quality of the s4 is SICK!!!
-
HAHAHA that has to go as my signature thing me thinks! yeah i've never had trouble comitting in other disciplines, but thinking about that, i broke many a bone going too big too soon!
-
good idea yeah, i've been sorta working on front wheel control, by putting up on like a 3ft wall, and shifting my weight and trying to bring the back wheel level, and holding it? But definitely trying that tomorrow!
-
Hey all, So i feel like im making steady enough progress, not as quick as some others it seems, but starting to get the basics pretty down, and starting to get to grips with backhops and working on rockwalk drops etc, But when it comes to getting up stuff, im struggling big time! i think its mostly down to confidence, and actually believing i can put the power through with the control needed. Also worry i'll right off my bike if i mess up! Ive watched alot of tutorial vids on up to fronts and stuff and im getting the front wheel up, but bottling it when it comes to lifting the back and fully committing. so i was wondering had anyone got any advice on how to build confidence, or any tips on things to practice to build my hopping power?or is it just a case of saying f*#k it and going for it? Also anyone got anymore tips on things like up to fronts or other ways of getting up objects? I appreciate any help! Bernard

really enjoyed that video, really creative and top riding! Main question, Is that helmet supposed to look like a pokeball, if so where did you get it! So cool!
-
I've gone from dj to inspired and ill never go back, to be honest I'm considering buying a2010 fourplay frame and build a dj from it as well as my fourplay I have now. its a great bike for a mixed style! I do agree you can get a great dj for the same money, but the streety style I'm looking to ride, the inspired suits perfect, I'd say go for the inspired

For your shin you'd want to be measuring your calf at its thickest point? As in the circumference of your Lower leg?
