  1. Been riding for less than 2 years (started in 2013) so I think this is possible when focusing only on certain techniques. The overall performance would be interesting to see. On the other hand, I don't have much time to practice. I think I'd be much better practicing 6 times a week or so rather than only 3 times as I don now. It all depends on the situation of the rider.
  2. Well, from seeing videos on Trashzen this isn't always necessary but from personal experience I know that it levers you up more and will especially be necessary for heights where you can't plant your front wheel onto the wall easily. I kinda aim like in my second attempt. The lower end of the front wheel touches the edge and levers you up having some speed of course.
  3. Kinda scared of heights higher than 65cm. That's why I don't jump up really on the second attempt.
  4. How did you get this booster onto your rear brake? When writing "the little red knob" I don't refer to a TPA but the Speed Dial 7 Lever that gives you even more braking power as you can adjust the mechanical advantage. edit: Never mind. Just saw your setup on the 20''. I'll try that on mine as well running dual boosters.
  5. Get one of those rare XTR Carbon Boosters (or Salsa for that matter) and your rear brake will performe much better. I ran mine with a TRP Booster in the beginning but putting on the Shimano booster still made a huge difference. Also, the SD7 lever gives you the opportunity to adjust the power of the brake. I dunno how the FRs are but dialing in all the way the little red knob on a SD7 gives you more power (better mechanical advantage/softer bite point). edit: Why not run front Vee as well?

Had a Deore and didn't like it. Also, as written above, the Deore seem to produce more friction or have less mechanical advantage. At ceteris paribus the SD7 have less resistance when pulling them. I really like them.

True. I wouldn't recommend Deore Levers. Had it for a day and friction was somehow too much. With the SD7 it works like a charm. No need for the overpriced Ultimate levers.

Yeah, those forks look good but I really couldn't get good braking out of them or the Racing Line Nano brakes that I've used them with. I am aware that many pros use these forks without problems but once you've used a vee setup and noticed that there's almost no resistance at the lever when pulling it, you won't like to go back hydraulic. Just my personal opinion. Still got those forks in my shed though. edit: Could try the Try All forks with a vee adaptor but I've read that this isn't just the same as when mounting them on the front.
  10. And I'd like to add this quote:
  11. Well... I don't really like the look of unicycling. Just my personal opinion. Looks like he is doing parcour as there's no real rolling movement.

Again some changes. V-Brake is so far the best brake I've ridden and I've had pretty much all the trial brakes out there. The grips weren't supposed to be like this but I tore one apart when changing the brake lever. Gu Echo¹ by niconj, auf Flickr Gu Echo by niconj, auf Flickr
  13. Should've fast forwarded the one wheel guy much more.
  14. A Disc Brake lever piston with its small diameter pushes to little fluid for a Rim Brake where the lever has a piston with a bigger diameter, ergo pushing more fluid. Just think of how little the pads move in a disc brake caliper compared to what a rim brake pad travels.

    Try All Forward

Dunno if this is a new tyre or an old one. I thought Try All was no more... ? "Build by Vee Rubber" -> Probably not as good as the Sticky Light.
  16. This is what I've done the last couple of weeks. I've gotten as far as this: http://videos.mtb-news.de/42736/up_to_front_practice Probably not as high as one should jump when practicing this move* but I think moving up a palllet every other month or so will bring some results. Right now I'm at a point where I still have to visualize the move before doing it so that the technique still isn't quite right. For example, I should lean more over the handle bars. I think it's like everything else in trials. Practice x1000. *
  17. Thanks so much for the offer. PM'd you. I think I will have to get down the technique first in order to use the strength I already have. In the last video I don't even jump a lot because I am too unstable on the rear and the technique is crap.
  18. Just wondering... does it feel weird for you to ride with brakes?
  19. I kinda had a breakthrough with this technique today. What I did wrong was having my arms stretched and my bodyweight too far back. I also didn't really jump up like during a pedal kick. Today I did two things differently. I really jumped up and when on my highest point just moved my bodyweight to the front leaving my hips right at the handle bar. Once you land in that position the wheel swap is so much easier. I first tried the wheel swap on the floor but that didn't work out so well. I was surprised how easy it is jumping onto things.
  20. And he's just started lifting weights if I'm not mistaken. Here's where I'm at right now. When practicing it feels much better than it looks on video.
  21. Unfortunately I don't only hit the stays but also the spokes and the hub flange quite often.
  22. Well... I think I could jump 1m or more to the side but it's the "up" that I can't really manage yet. When doing the sidehop to rear (which I think is what it's called) everything feels just so right. Once I'm parralel to the wall it becomes weird. Probably because I can't really see how high my rear wheel is or where exactly it lands. This influences my braking technique as described above and also the way I preload. When doing it to rear and being sort of diagonally to the wall it's different even though it really shouldn't be. Dunno if you get what I mean.
