    New Arrival

Congratulations Mr Poopipe. He looks angry in the picture though. And Theodore is a cool name, well chosen. Maybe you should look up what that actually means
  2. I have never used one... But they do look fairly basic as far as SLRs go. That's not always a bad thing.
  3. Black, duh. Silver cameras look cheap and ugly IMO. If you've got a choice, get the black every time.
  4. Your point would have been more valid if you'd quoted someone who hadn't died a bloody death in a motorcycle accident. But hey ho, motorbikes look fun. I would get one but I know I would kill myself. I am enough of a dick on my road bike
  5. Wow, I didn't realise you could get them in green these days. For a moment there I thought they were those green frog ltd edition ones from years ago.
  6. Try the 160 and see how you go? If you decide to buy a bigger rotor/adapter then it's easily done, but you might as well try it first. My opinion is that the Hope is a really decent brake, but it's a bit of a waste having it on a small rotor as it probably won't live up to its potential. But like I say, try it and see
  7. Shimano SPDs have loads of "float" so your foot will twist easily when you're clipped in. This is especially true when you have the springs fairly loose - as you should when learning. Other pedals (Time ATAC, Crank Brothers) have much less float and I guess could hurt your knees if set up wrong. As for shoe positions, I have my cleats as far in and as far back on my shoes as possible. I.e. this means that your foot will be as far forward and as wide as possible. Obviously this depends on the shoes you choose (and riding style), but I find most of the shoes will put your feet in a really aggressive toes-on-pedal position, rather than having the pedal in the middle of your foot more. I think it's supposed to be more powerful/efficient but I don't like it. I would say as long as you're not getting any abnormal aches in your knees (especially at the sides) then there's nothing to worry about. Just have a play. Oh, and one more thing: The shoes come with a sticker to stick over the cleats on the inside to waterproof your shoes. Once this is in, you can't adjust the position of the cleat, so get it right before you go sticking the sticker on

    A Riddle For You

You don't add the two that the woman pocketed, you subtract it. The only reason that riddle works is because it's confusing. The maths is really simple.

    Usb Drivers

You need to install at least Windows service pack 1 I think, perhaps SP2. So go get SP2
  10. I think they work on inertia, i.e. if you give the pedals a good jab then they engage. But if you just pedal lightly you get no engagement. So they'd be pretty wank for trials. Unless someone comes up with another mechanism. I did think it would be cool to try one though.
  11. The Zune actually looks pretty nice (a bit bigger than iPods but cool blue-green metal colour), but the reviews for it aren't that favourable. Mainly the fact that the software is really, really buggy (Though I guess that can be fixed with updates). The Creatives that I have had experience with have been a bit rubbish. Again, rubbish software and chunky hardware. Say what you will about iTunes, it does work and I've had no problems with it. Although I don't really agree with the way it works (Basically taking over all your music and forcing you to let it store the music etc), I don't think that's a good enough reason to not buy an iPod. Whatever you may or may not think about Apple, there's no point shooting yourself in the foot by being anti-iPod. Counter-culture means you miss out on good things sometimes. I like my iPod
  12. That is exactly why this forum needs moderation. To say that your views are the views of TF is as ignorant as saying that muslims are terrorists. If you wanna be racist, fine. I don't really care. I know you're old enough to make your own mind up. My comments were aimed at the younger members of the forum who aren't old enough to make informed decisions. I still think any form of racism is ignorant but that's my opinion and you're entitled to yours.
  13. It's not immature though. When you grow up and enter the real world and talk to real people, you learn that: 1. Not every asian person is gonna go Jihad on your ass 2. Not every black person will knife you for your mobile 3. White scally kids are dicks, in the same way as black scally kids 4. Not every homosexual will bum you if you're male 5. The government does not give houses and Mercedes to immigrants just because they're foreign etc etc. So anyone basing an argument on any of the above things is just ignorant.

    24" Frames

Tell him he needs better rim tape Looks nice, though I'm not sure if I'm THAT keen on the amount of echo anodised stuff on it. As long as it rides nice though
  15. Hmmm. Irony? About time too Yeah, I have no problem with saying Eid Mubarrach to whoever was celebrating Eid. I agree it's stupid, but it's been completely blown out of all proportion by idiots, as F-stop said.
  16. This sounds like bollocks spread by right wing tossers like the BNP. I'll bet any money this hasn't actually happened. It's just made up to spread hatred, as you can clearly see by the replies in this thread.
  17. You're gonna try and make a mini-moto road legal? Why not just do what all the other scallies do and just ride around the roads anyway?

    Go Karting

Mmmm, this is all making me wanna go Karting again. I haven't been since my 14th birthday. Today I learnt the Welsh for Karting Centre. It's "Cartio".

    Sus Forks

You won't use it. I have 80-130mm on my XC bike (I think) but I just leave it at 130 the whole time. Otherwise you're always faffing at the top and bottom of hills, and you forget etc.

    Dual Screen!

4 screens can be done with two bog standard graphics cards (± Ultramon) I think. The main use for me is having a photoshop image on one screen, and all the toolbars on the other. Can do full screen editing very easily. Other than that there's not really a use for them. Give me one decent sized screen any day - I really want a 24" widescreen, but they're really very expensive.

    Injury Advice

That's exactly what I have in my right finger of my left hand. It started when downhilling too, and I had exactly the same thing with my hands being "stuck" in the riding grip. I think it's tendonitis in your finger tendons (Flexor digitorum sublimis for my hands ) and there's pretty much bugger all you can do for it. Just gotta rest it. Mine's been there for about 6 weeks and it's just about better now, but I've not done much XC riding or climbing (which is much worse for my finger) in that time. So yeah, this is just another unhelpful "rest it" answer
  22. My toe did that and it was loose at one side for about a year, until it grew out. It never fell off. But don't worry about it. The black colour is blood underneath it, which will disappear if you have a bath or whatever and get water under it.
  23. Yeah yeah... I said you COULD do them straight from the camera, you don't have to. As long as they're saved as jpegs (or maybe TIFFs?) it'll be fine.
  24. Yeah most photo shops have a booth that takes all kinds of memory cards - you stick it in and select the pictures you want etc. You don't even have to use your computer first, straight from the camera is fine. Even Tescos have some booths.

    24" Frames

Well I like my ET. It's stupidly easy to bunny hop throw about. I guess some "proper" trials moves are harder to do, but not much harder. Just depends what you like, I think it's more fun than other bikes so it easily makes up for a few inches off my sidehop. EDIT: Gear ratio is pretty similar to 26", so 22:18 or 20:16 is what a lot of people use.
