  1. Is he someone that would have expected you to ask his permission before you proposed to her? If so and you didn't, maybe that's what narked him.

Nah, in OS X there's two types of programs. Ones you can drag and drop in your apps folder, and others that you have to install in a way similar to WinXP, by double-clicking the installer icon. So what you did was right for Final Cut, because I assume that was an installer. To answer you question - Yes, you can delete the .dmg if you like. You shouldn't have to use .dmg's day-to-day at all.
  3. So why has boon edited the first post? Has someone been paid off by trialnoir? And can anyone tell me what happened?
  4. I agree really. Judging from the pic, it looks like it'll have pretty insane geo too. I mean BB rise of course. So I think this is just a test frame, see what ideas work etc. I can't see it going into production in that exact form. You'd have to say well done for trying it though. If it is strong enough and the geo isn't too weird then it might be pretty cool. Having no seat stays could be a good thing in terms of crank clearance and chainstay length. And the main straight bit of the frame should be pretty strong. I just think that bb is going to fall straight off on the first big drop...
  5. Learn both ways equally and then you'll know for sure which is best for you. I am rubbbish at sidehops (so you can ignore this if you like), but I find them easier to my "bad" side. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any real effect until you're doing 40"+ at least

A .dmg is an archive file, basically like a .zip file - you're not supposed to run things out of them. When you mount the .dmg, you're not "installing" anything. You're just opening a folder, basically. So open the .dmg, and that will mount the archive on the desktop. Then from in there, drag the program icon to anywhere else. The obvious choice is applications, but it will work from anywhere. And then after that you don't need to keep the dmg so you can delete it. A lot of people seem to have problems with this system. It's really very easy but I guess it's not intuitive if you're used to Windows. EDIT: Sorry, I missed the second bit of the post. It sounds like what you did was drag the icon to the dock first. Dragging to the dock just creates a shortcut, so if your file is buried in the .dmg already, OS X will have to re-mount the .dmg and load it from there, which is slow and takes up too much space. You need to copy it to apps first, and then drag to the dock to make the shortcut But... nor was that
  7. Different forks are not gonna make it feel any different anyway. Just ride it.
  8. No one plays 1.6 any more though. Only people with old computers that don't work on Source.
  9. Well it might be different if it's Carphone Warehouse, I understand they control their own contracts, so your contract is with CPW not O2. So I guess you should speak to them.
  10. The only time I have ever had to do that is when I got told by a server admin to change my rates. So I did and I never had any trouble before. From reading that you would think it's something every CS player is supposed to understand. Don't worry about it.
  11. Yeah, you can't cancel it because you've signed for 12 months (Hopefully not 18 months!). The only thing you can do is to change the tariff to the cheapest one - I think that's £15/month - and pay out the remainder of the contract on that tariff, so £15 x 6 months left = £90. But you will still keep your phone.
  12. Yeah. They're just if you need them though, you don't have to plug them all in if you don't need a parallel port or something. The heatsink would suggest that you've got a Pentium3 slot thingy, just in case you didn't know. And yeah, lan card, 56k modem.
  13. So you plugged something into an output and it didn't work? Duh... If there's no other connections then no, you're stuck I'd imagine.
  14. Will BF2 work ok on an Athlon 64 3200+, 1Gb ram, 9800XT?
  15. That's because it can't, Pete is talking crap. Dunno why he bothers. Anyway, it looks pretty rad
  16. It is a lame excuse, but I agree with Mark, really. It'll make you look loads better in the eyes of your fiancé if you manage to get her parents to come. I reckon you gotta be the bigger man and talk to the tosser
  17. Haha, it's called puberty I sweat like a bitch, the most annoying this is that it's mainly my arse, so I end with sweat patches in the worst place
  18. So what you're saying is that this is a stupid design for a frame? A bad frame is a bad frame, regardless of whether I get to ride it. Now I'm not saying this is a bad frame because I've seen one bad picture of it. In fact it's probably a really nice frame. But I think we are allowed to speculate about it without the guy who posted it getting annoyed. This is a forum, that's what happens. Haha, yeah. But it's not even going to be sold to us, apparently, so why should he care?

Yeah, that's right. That's why it has exactly the same geometry, and rides exactly the same (Even though no one on here has ridden one). The only thing it has in common with the Pitbull is that big gusset. Aside from that, it's one of the most innovative stock frames I've seen for a while (horizontal drops, BMX spacing, different geo etc). Not saying these things are good - I'm definitely not convinced by BMX spacing - but to say it's the same as a Pitbull is just dumb. Just dumb.
  20. mink (on the forum occasionally) had a phantom gear for a while when he snapped a hanger. They do actually work, and his didn't cause him any problems. It was sketchy as f**k though, every time you pedalled, the whole thing moved down about an inch and obviously that made the engagement feel really mushy. But he had it for a couple of weeks with no problems. I always wondered why someone doesn't make a tensioner that attaches to the stays (on the bottom, obviously). I guess it would be pretty hard to make, though. The Leeson KISSS is kinda like that and it works really nicely IMO, but it's still quite close to the back of the bike.
  21. Now now, don't get shirty. If you've bought a legit version of tomtom for £10, I'll eat my keyboard. It'll just be a copy, so you might as well have just downloaded it...
