  1. Why have Braun (Makers of fine electric touthbrushes and nose hair trimmers) got a stand? :-
  2. Does Akrigg even have a signature frame? (Y)
  3. Yeah, I think I've heard that about DOT fluids, but I'd be surprised if mineral oil had the same problems. No matter how many times I (or anyone else, for that matter) bled the brake - there was ALWAYS some air. Cool to be able to see it though (Y)
  4. We need a price on that. If it's more than £300, I'll be cross!
  5. If I had to go when tooth hurty, it would be fine. But I have to go at "teeth ok, thanks" o'clock - Which is (Y)
  6. What's the difference between a MSci and a BSc? Right now, I'm doing medicine at uni. Kinda shoehorns me into one profession, but I don't mind at all. It's great. I'm sure I'll be happy doing that :) (Although I need to fight that feeling that is saying give up uni and go and live in France being a snowboard bum (Y) )
  7. You ought to be able to get some routing software for windows, really. I've not heard of any though...

    Wots Goin On

I think we covered the Viz biz(iness) (Y)
  9. What's wrong with that? (Y)
  10. What a lovely story. Round of applause for Jon for his lovely story. Mind the door.
  11. A router? (Y) I dunno what the problem is, but I'm sure it'd be solved by getting a nice router :)
  12. I kind of agree with that. But they have to use something that will work in all conditions (I.e. the brake won't lock on for XC riders riding in -10 conditions or whatever), whereas for trials, water might be slightly better. Having said that, I used water for a while and I wouldn't have said it was better. Feels a bit different, but I'm back on Magura blue blood (Y)
  13. As in: If they say it will be out in May, it'll probably actually be so delayed that we won't see it till the end of summer (Y)

    Frame Advice

I think mine was about 1040, with Pashley forks. So with "normal" forks, maybe about 1025 :P Get a Base - Even if you don't like it, at least it's cheap (Y)

    Be A Bully

Put the gravity thing in the middle and then make grenades "orbit" the guy (My choice was Michael Moore) until they explode (Y)
  16. I'll be there at Morecambe in the morning (ish). But probably not Preston later - I've got a b*****d dentist appointment at 6:30 in Lancaster (Y)
  17. The blue Monty stuff is a bit stiffer than the proper (black) mag stuff, making the barbs a bit of a bitch to fit. Oooh, and it's slightly see-through, so you can see all the bubbles in your system :P But I never found any advantage using it. I'm back on black now, can't remember why exactly (Y) - They're no different really. If you want something to spice up your colour scheme, then do it, but it ain't gonna make your brake any better.
  18. Like I say, I think the ones bought from manufacturers' auctions should have a full 12 months warranttee. Wouldn't trust other eBay vendors so much though, although you should be able to send it straight back to the manufacturer if any problems arose.
  19. I don't really know anything about video cameras, but I do know that THESE are cheap on eBuyer (Y)

    Stupid Question..

I think his stereo will have a amplifier built in (Y) It'd be worth checking the impedance on the sub and the current that your stereo supplies. If the speakers are too resistant, then they won't work properly. If they don't resist enough, you might blow your stereo. That's just about covered the "how", now more importantly, the "why": Why on earth do you want to connect your sub up to your stereo that is completely not designed for it? A sub is designed to deal with low-end frequencies, yet you're connecting it to the same thing as a normal (all frequencies) speaker? If it sounds better than it did before, I'll eat my, um, keyboard.
  21. But you can get games almost that cheap from HERE. [/shameless plug] (Y)
  22. But the 3.5mm jack on his sound card is not going to supply anywhere near enough p.d. to make the cones move appreciably. That's what amps are for :P Or one of us has got our wires crossed (pun intended (Y) )
  23. Of course you can compress anything you want, with enough pressure. But in a magura, you're not going to provide anywhere near enough pressure to noticibly compress water or oil or whatever you want to dump in there. Water freezes (And more importantly expands as it does so), that's the main problem with using it in mags.
  24. I'm pretty sure you'll only get 4. They only send so many to each address.
  25. Hmm not sure then. I don't think there's any way without downloading any more software. I think you could use something like Alcohol 110%, which I think is a free download. That's just basically the same as using Nero. I suppose you could just copy the ISO file to a cd, then take it home and open it in Nero.
