Ash - I'm sure you can if you just lean back loads into a manual and then hop out of that. It's not impossible but it'd be a pointless thing to try and do and certainly doesn't help this guy. If you've got forks, you might as well use them to your advantage slightly - although use them to start your jump, don't rely on them completely.

Tom has said that he's cool with people starting up new businesses via TF. If a company becomes big, they can pay for advertising banners. So it helps everyone in the long run (users, the company, and TF who stand to get advertising revenue). Look at the current banners - Heatsink, Inspired, Trials-UK, Tarty etc - None of those guys would be around if it wasn't for trials-forum, and now they pay the server bills Whether or not this particular business will make any money is another matter. Good luck with that.

Well according to the member list, members 1 and 2 are Danny and Tom, and there isn't a member 3 (space reserved for future?). 4 and 5 are Munki and Sameer (but they're not on here any more), and next up is Grantham who does still post. But that's only since the last proper server crash - TF was around before that but I don't know who was on it first. We need a history lesson from Tom or Danny

It sounds like you don't need to worry unless you're gonna exceed that £1700 limit - and it doesn't sound like you will. It'll just be an automated email just so if you HAD just started a business you'd be aware of the rules. Don't worry about it.

Rest it I think I know what you mean - most people have had that at some point riding trials? Particularly in the first year or so. How long have you been riding? Pretty sure it's just a tweaked muscle in your back and there's not a whole lot you can do. Painkillers (Ibuprofen) will help in the short term but probably aren't a great idea in the long-run. You can try adjusting your bar/stem position too.

Like I said in the other thread somewhere - it's not about manualling and crouching, then jumping. It's about throwing all your weight upwards, taking first the front wheel with you, then the rear wheel. "Move your weight and the bike will follow" as someone used to say (JJ Gregorowicz I think).

I'm pretty sure you won't have a leg to stand on I'm afraid. Landlords are bastards like that. Plus if they've already paid for a cleaner they're going to be reluctant to give you the money back. In my experience you always lose a few quid from deposits - a ball ache but that's how it is. Good luck with Citizens' Advice though.

Totally. I remember when everyone started to learn taps 4-5 years ago, and TRA was basically the only person actually properly jumping at the same time as tapping. And he was getting 6" over what everyone else was doing.

Two things I thought of after looking at Dave Marshall's ride: 1) That grey rim around the back of the seat - could that be black? Or white even?! I think that would look better. 2) There's a bit of a lump in the middle of the seat where that logo is (not the Inspired one, the other one). P.S. What is that logo?
