  1. Yes you are officially allowed to ride biketrials there. Some agreement was made that Barbara Wright sorted from what I can remember, although you still have to pay the farmer a few quid if he comes around in his milk float. Good pics there Adam, I miss a bit of Addingham.

    Ghosts?

After reading a topic on one of the other forums I prowl, I found it pretty interesting. Has anyone had any good experiences or any weird happenings? Do you believe in ghosts/something or not?
  4. I wish that was the case, if it was I'd just let the xbox give it a beating until it works. By the way it's a Philips TV.
  5. 27,440 - 82 lines. When it gets fast it just kills me off.
  6. So basically, my TV has a DVI input to run High definition video. I had a PS3 and ran a HDMI - DVI cable from my PS3 to my Xbox, this played the video perfectly fine. I ran the sound through the supplied component cable - my pc speakers (As DVI is video only). So basically it all worked fine with my PS3. I've now just got a 360 and the same setup with the video isn't working. HDMI from the xbox to DVI in my TV. Not getting any picture. I also tried using the same cable but instead of connecting it to my TV, I connected the DVI input into my pc monitor. That worked fine. Which leads me to think it's my TV not agreeing with the xbox. So.. What's different between the Xbox and PS3 that's making the Xbox not work with my TV where the PS3 does. And if anyone knows any solutions to this. I've ran the console with the Component have cable and it's just pathetic quality, I don't think I could put up with it. If I couldn't get the HDMI to DVI to work, what's the component HD have cable like, and what's the quality like with that cable compared to using a HDMI or the regular have cable.
  7. If I can get somebody to work at the shop on Saturday I'll be up for coming up, I'm not that far away really.

    Pranks

This topic is amazing. I don't even go to uni, but reading these is pretty funny. So basically from what I've read, all you need is some cling film or tin foil.
  9. I'll try and upload a higher quality version of the video to a downloadable link somewhere if people are after it.
  10. I've been reading up a lot about the 360 lately, and the problems with them is just crazy. So many people have problems with them. I'd certainly say the PS3 is better, after owning one. But you can't beat the online play with the xbox. The ps3's online platform was perfectly fine for me, it was free and worked without any problems, really fast finding games etc. But the way 80% of people I know have an xbox, I'd rather have the xbox just so I can play online with my mates. I'm looking at some of the latest jasper consoles. basically it stops the console over heating and uses a lot less power, which will stop the rrod on them. Hopefully Microsoft have sorted themselves out after 4/5 years of pretty shoddy service. I don't know anyone who's xbox hasn't been sent back. It's a joke. But a 3 year warranty on newer consoles and the updated chip set i'll give it go now.
  11. I've been the last 3 years. This year there are 110,000 camping spaces and no day tickets (past years only 80,000 + day tickets). That means it'll be the second biggest festival in the UK with Glasto being the first (with about 150,000 camping). I should be going. I'm not really into ACDC but they should still be good to watch, but I think them alone could pull in 110,000 people. There are still a hell of a lot more bands to come so there should be some good stuff in the mix.
  12. I heard that James Porter guy dyes his ginger hair ginger.
  13. If you went on a Megabus you'd have to leave the day before.
  14. At my shop I have a Falcon 18" Revenge BMX. It's a pretty decent BMX for a kid, white and black colour scheme, V-brakes, padded bar and stem, big tyres. A lot of kids tend to go for that kind of bike. I think parents prefer that too. I always give the advice that with a BMX there's a lot less to go wrong. They're usually built stronger and tougher, and you don't have to worry about gears messing up, mechs being bent etc, so they take more of a beating = You don't have to fix it/pay to fix it every 5 minutes.
  15. My best mate owns a car warranty insurance company underwritten by Motorcare. Basically, ware and tare items as already stated will definitely not be covered. I've looked through the leaflets about 20 times when I'm sat about bored in his car and there are a lot of items detailed that aren't covered. But there are also a lot of items that are covered. I think a cam sensor should be covered. But the garage doing the work might have been up to something. Also the manufacturers extended warranties are apparently not so great. You paid £600 for a 3 year warranty? That is pretty overpriced. You could get a lifetime warranty for a lot less than that . My mates company and Motorcare do give out a lot of claims, but they also pay for independent mechanics to check the car to make sure before any claims go through. Everything should be detailed in the terms and conditions, but I think the main benefit of a warranty is for electrical and major problems, then it can be very worthwhile. They get people calling for some daft things. A woman was trying to get new tyres off the warranty a few weeks ago, some people just don't understand or read anything and confusion kicks in. So...If anyone is after a warranty, give me a shout . Just thought I'd stick that in there.
  16. All he's done is add up the weight of the components from the listings on weightweenies. I would bet it'd actually weigh more than his total. The amount of discrepency in the components especially the rims and tyres is bound to make it heavier than stated. What I'm getting at is why doesn't he just stick it on some scales and whack a picture up. He could have saved a good 50g odd by using Nokon cables. This guy is trumpet.
  17. If you've sold your bike, how can you ride it? Come to think of it, you've bought your own bike off yourself?

ooo, it's a tricky one that. I think... It all starts at the start when he finds the top and bottom card and pretends to explain a cut, he can manipulate the shuffle so the cards end up in the same place as the beginning believe it or not, and that's what he checks when he's explaining the cut. He takes a sly glimpse at the middle card at the start of the trick after the girls split the cards. The way the shuffled the cards he knew what order they were in. The fact that the 3 people split the cards doesn't mean anything as he knows the order of the cards before and after that specific card he glimpsed at after they split his deck. And then the sly glimse of the middle card and his own split brought the cards back to their original position So at this point he knows that the cards are in the order he wants them to be in. It's just a lot of skill and a lot of deceiving. I think he can pick a point in the card pack and know exactly what card there's going to be just from feeling the depth of the cut. That's why, when he splits the cards while doing the trick he knows what's there, I also think him splitting the cards after every few cards is the secret. Just before a few flips of the cards he begins to say what he's saying slowly then suddenly speeds up after, then he knows what's after those cards he's just seen as they were being flipped. I think this trick would be pretty simple to a lot of magicians and it's just a twist on other versions of the same deception of a card trick by shuffling.

Do you really think he can actually make the coin pass through the bottle. If he took it from somebody in the crowd, then it's a set up.

With the coin through the bottle. He obviously ha a coin already in the bottle, lets just get that straight, no matter how stupid you are, you have to understand that. The question is, how does he trick you to think it's just passed through the bottle. He could of attached some 'invisible' thin string used for magic through the coin then through the bottle and sealed (probably around the label). If you look closely in the video, he's grasping the bottle to keep the coin in place. Once he pretends to pass the coin through the bottle, he pulls on the string (with the same hand grasping the bottle, 2 fingers flick out), releasing the coin and the string. He then slighly changes the bottle to the other hand while pocketing the string and swapping the coin to the other hand. You can also notice that bottle has a big head, so a 2p would fit through the top. Or a magnet.
