  1. Don't ever work on a bar!
  2. Steal your wiper blades when your not looking
  3. Borrowing some thoughts from one of the best modern philosophers of our time (James May) you can't ban people from having 4X4's because really that's essentially just a form of communism. Plus, people like JohnMack's Mum need them for their actual practical benefits. However, I do think that they should ban them from school runs which are where there most often found. I know people argue that they are the safest way of transporting your kids which is a fair point except by having such a big vehicle with poor visibility you are putting everyone else's kids in danger. Furthermore, if ALL cars on the school run were sensible sized hatchbacks, everyone would be safe anyway because really how much damage are you going to cause if you have a crash at 20mph? (Which is really the only speed you can do around schools) Personally when I have kids there all walking or cycling because that’s how I always got to school!
  4. -At the till, cashiers who give you your change on top of the note. Why the hell do they do this?! I work on a bar and I ALWAYS hand them the coins then when I can see that there hand is free hand over the note. -People who walk too slowly in big groups taking up the whole pavement. 14 year old girls are the worse at this and I normally just end up shoving my way through the group just to make the point. -People who don't signal while driving. -Anyone on the University Roundabout in Sheffield, for some reason everyone on that roundabout cuts you up and pulls out in front of you. -Pro Footballers -Wasps -Tossers who wear flip flops in the middle of winter. -People who park in cycle lanes -Parris Hilton -BMW 1 Series
  5. Maybe it would affect you if you were married. If your a married heterosexual couple with a certain value system on what marriage really is then there is a possibility that the concept of a gay couple being able to have the same right, that may have an affect on you, you may think it de values your own ideas on marriage. Although amusing, your just committing a fallacy ad hominem in that your just attacking the person rather than addressing the person's argument. All "it's un natural" arguments on this subject are pretty flawed. Un natural compared to what exactly? If you want to look at our most “natural" relatives (chimps) then should we run around killing and devouring our nearest neighbours? Nature is irrational with no moral values and so to look to it for guidance on rational and moral issues is just pointless.

    Jobs?

Barman/Waiter at a hotel and student.
  7. Everyone who has commented on this thread MUST watch the latest Buzzcocks, epic pi*s take!
  8. They would never sack JC, think how many viewers they would loose if they lost Top Gear. PC really is taking the pi55 right now and ironically preventing development. As Mill pointed out in his essay on hate speech, if you silence and censor everyone's opinion ( not matter how controversial or "un PC") then there’s no way views can get a chance to develop as there isn't a chance for a general forum. Don't get me wrong, there is a limit and we should censor completely irrational hate speech, but at the moment it's gone too far in the opposite direction.
  9. BBC link Wouldn't be supprised if not many people here have read any of his books but fact remains without Crichton we would never have had Jurassic Park which is one of my favourite films. R.I.P
  10. Problem is I should also go to bed but I would quite like to hear the speeches, really should be working on my essay but neugh what you genna do?
  11. Currently 297 to 145 and obv you need 270 for the win. The final results wont be till 6am when states like Alaska are called in.
  12. Obama, been watching it on the BBC, they had some American with a moustache (looked like Asterix) who was such a fu(kin idiot. "Well I think you should make sure the BBC fires that reporter.....your media is so biased.." just because he grilled him a bit. Really wound me up because American media really is politicaly biased, just check out Fox new. Rant over- for now
  13. Watching the US election, probably should go to bed as I have a 10am seminar. Think I might just stay up the whole night now.
  14. True, but then look at the wider context. If women see the women on the covers then their whole idea of what true beauty is becomes completely destroyed and (I don't think this is sexist) women are more naturally insecure about there image and so feel inclined to fork out huge amounts of money on cosmetics to try and reach this so called "ideal image" which is impossible by it's own nature. I don't know if your essay needs to have a scope that wide but thats just what I think.
  15. Awesome, best ever British sitcom IMO (even better than Spaced! ) Shame they never got around to making the film
  16. Sorry to hear that dude but I can empathise with you. On my first test it was all going pretty then we got back to the test centre when he asked me to do a reverse bay park. I did the manoeuvre and he told me to switch the engine off then informed me that I "Hadn't passed this time". I thought to myself I had probably done something stupid without realising like not doing mirrors at a junction but then he informed me that I had received one minor and one major. He then proceeded to show me that my back wheel was about 2 inches over the line and that was my "major". I remember being so pi55ed off because (as I’m sure your aware) the vast majority of drivers out there are really bad (I reckon if you were to make every driver take there test again 98% would fail) yet I was denied a driver's license because of this one thing (which most people bay park forwards anyway). Anyway good news was I took it again and I passed with 3 minors and my last manoeuvre was the bay park and it was the same examiner. If you didn't get marked down at all for 30 minutes of the test then you'll pass easily.

    Jobs

Jobcentre Website thats where I got my current job from. Very handy website and can really help you narrow down the kind of job your after. You could also probably go on job seekers allowance, how much you get will depend of your circumstances but when I was looking they gave me £40 a week (because I was living at home). Hope it goes well.

    Mac Or Pc

Sorry dont want to steal the thread but I was just wandering what people thought of Vaio's? IMO they look the sh1t and heard they are also pretty sweet for photo/video editing but are they on par with Macs? oh and we're obviously talking about their laptops.
  19. Remember just keep looking in mirrors and stay cool and chilled and you'l be fine. If you do something stupid so you KNOW you've failed it then you can just go nuts eg slamming down the accelerator while looking at the examinor and madly laughing. All the best
  20. Something you may like to read
  21. Battle Without Honor or Humanity - Tomoyasu Hotei It's from the Kill Bill sound track
  22. "Requiem for a Dream" any one who has ever considered or has taken part in substance abuse should be forced down and made to watch it. Without doubt the most powerful film I have ever seen.
  23. Just out of interest what do your/her friends and parents think about it? I know every situation is different but I know what I was like when I was 16 (I'm 20 now) so theres no way I could go out with a girl that much younger than me. Luckily my woman is exactly 6 months younger than me to the date.
