  1. I'm completely disagree with your first 4 points. All but one seems to be conspiracy theories so I won't touch them. But yeah, all roads lead to electric cars. Every other type of fuel needs reasonable amount of effort to make. Electricity can just be made by sticking a windfarm or a solar panel in a field somewhere, and we already have the infrastructure to get electricity to our homes. The only reason electric cars aren't more popular is because there's so little places to charge them, and people are reluctant to build charging places because there's such a small amount of electric cars on the road. Once that vacuum breaks, we'll see an explosion of electric cars. More so when we figure out how to store electricity better. As for the next 20 years, I think we'll see real advances in cancer research. I think mRNA advances due to covid will really push that tech on to cancer and we'll see the numbers drop dramatically. Brick and motor stores will have been decimated by 2040 and we'll see a resurgence of small local stores that sell a little bit of everything. Seeing a drone flying through the air will be a common occurrence.
  2. Me and my wife had a bit of a "ah shit" moment recently. There's a organization out here that helps low to moderate income people buy homes. They do this by basically selling you the home and they keep ownership of the land. This means that you get the home, it's yours, and you rent the land for about 25 pounds a month. If and when you sell the home, you sell it for the price you paid minus 75% of the increased value of the home (you buy a 100k home and when you sell it's valued at 160k, you sell it for $115 through the same organization). Also before they sell you the property they go in and fix up the place, new doors, floors and sometimes a new roof. We saw a home being sold through this organization for 100k, the total property (with land) valued at 160k, without the land, 130k, and there was an additional 30k knocked off the price. We never intended to go for this place, and sale was already pending, but we realized we could actually apply and hope something similarly prices comes along. So we apply for the program, do all the paper work, get accepted. And then we realize that the 30k that was knocked off the home is only for people who're a member of our local Chippewa Tribal Band (aka Native Americans). We're still going to go forwards with the organization, but we doubt we'll get something decent for $100k these days.

    Covid19

Isn't that basically what he's saying. Ali said he knows loads of people who've been tested positive for covid with no symptoms as an example of the test been inaccurate. But given that people do get asymptomatic covid, I don't see an issue with that. Ali, just take the free test, if it comes back positive, you can buy the more accurate one, or not and just say home for a while to be safe. If it's free you have nothing to lose.

Go get tested, no reason not to.

It may be anecdotal but I have two relatives who work in hospitals. Word gets around, basically everyone in there with covid are unvaccinated. But anyway.. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/24/cdc-study-shows-unvaccinated-people-are-29-times-more-likely-to-be-hospitalized-with-covid.html study done between May and August.

Well both but especially catching it. 98% of people hospitalized with covid right now and unvaccinated. Honestly whenever I talk to someone who hasn't taken the vaccine I wonder that if they ever end up in hospital thinking they're dying, calling loved ones to say their goodbyes, I would ever regret not putting more effort into convincing them to get vaccinated.

    The Angry Thread.

It was posted in 2 different threads I believe. But I think if any video deserves it's own thread, that would be it!

I really wouldn't consider traveling if you're not vaccinated, it's surely the worst thing you can do right now or anytime in the next few months.

Does it kill them? because if so I might start taking it.

Are you talking to yourself Ali or did some posts get deleted?
  11. Pretty interesting video about a riders wife over taking him not in skill, but in confidence.

I agree with much of what he's saying, ivermectin is a drug used in humans and Joe isn't taking the meds designed for horses, and it was very dishonest for anyone to report that. I've got no issue with people taking ivermectin, I have an issue with people saying they're going to take that instead of the vaccine, and possibly convincing others to do likewise who have vaccine hesitancy. Joe not taking the vaccine is the biggest mistake he could make when it came to his health. In another timeline, Joe could be dying in hospital right now as he never took the vaccine. Fortunately he sold out his podcast for $100 million so he could buy his way into monoclonal antibody therapy. Who knows where he'd be at without that.

  14. This post is 8 and a half years old, laptops back then didn't have the power to record gaming footage I don't believe, mine certainly didn't.

    The Angry Thread.

He's not really hiding away, we just got used to 4 years of a nutcase cramming his face in front of a camera any chance he got. Also it seemed every single day he was doing something controversial, sociopathic or basically trying to become the dictator of the USA so he was always being reported on. Aside from the fact that he's super old and way past his prime, he's just being a normal president.
  16. Put a new chain on my bike a few days ago, snapped the mech hanger today (see angry thread) and on closer inspection I realized that where I connected the chain one of the plates has been pushed out and I'm quite surprised that the chain didn't detach. Obviously when I was using the destiffening part of the chain tool I overdid it, but the link was a little stiffer than the rest of the links still. So first question, should I just deal with a stiff link as opposed to overdoing it? 2nd question, can I remove this link and have a shorter chain, or could this cause issues? It's a 1x10 and has the same length chain as the bike came with.

https://twitter.com/US_FDA/status/1429050070243192839?s=20 The FDA is having to remind Americans that they are not horses because of a spike in poison control calls due to people taking Ivermectin. https://twitter.com/MaddowBlog/status/1428904540229799946?s=20

    Covid19

I suppose out of everything you said this is the thing to highlight here. Unlike cancer screenings, and personally deciding when to accept those interventions and treatments, our actions with covid affects everyone else around us. So personal opinions on how we value our freedoms over the last year and a half, how much we value people not getting sick, dying, and the value we individually believe that those last 10 to 15 years of our lives are worth really become irreverent and are just thrown into a melting pot with everyone else's opinion. If you're one of the outliers, you're gonna be pissed, but what can we do about it?

Being anti-vax has extreme connotations linked to it. So I see why people say "I'm not anti-vax but...". I agree with them, they aren't anti-vax. But given the science, if you're not anti-vax, but not taking the covid vaccination (or would any variation of the covid vaccination), you're a hypocrite, not anti-vax.

How does that app work? Just Bluetooth and then it connects with everyone else who you pass by, then when someone gets covid it just tells everyone who's been in range of that person? How many people actually use it?

    The Angry Thread.

f**king bikeshops. $80 into this bike now to fix the gearing and creaking from the front end. Had it in twice and they haven't been able to fix either problem. $80 for all the work. What's the point of bikeshops? f**k me. EDIT: Butchered my other bike and took the derailleur off it and put it on the bike I've been having issues with. Solved the issue, f**ked up derailleur all along.
