  1. Seriously thou hammerite Matt black is an easy to apply and durable paint I will be using on my bike soon
  2. Matt black then u can use hammerite I know u love he hammer part
  3. Shame really, what's even more stupid is bikes will always be practicing at the glen even if there weren't comps held there. Surely the best fix would be to get down to tbd council and get them to agree bikes on the glen for say one or two Sundays in a month
  4. The stumpy has two sets of fox forks. The white 34's for enduro dh races and a set of talas 32's in black for xc,
  5. 2 extremely nice bikes here Specialized stumpjumper carbon expert 29 with fox 34 forks And a custom cervelo r5 with durace
  6. He said his front doesn't grip as well the rear makes the big difference when it coms to rolling. If he want super fast rolling then run front and rear ardents
  7. ust and lust options here for you minion 2.5 ust http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=26814&categoryID=8262 ardent 2.25 lust http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=26827&categoryID=8262 the point of tubeless for xc is less rubber so it uses less energy to deform the tyre as it rotates. and because the tyre deforms easily it also grips better. and rolls more eficiently, it probbably is hardly any difference. to me its less punctres less pinches, lighter than just the standard tube (if you use exo tyres not ustits lighter) if you use ust with sealant you wont get any punctures or failures. unless you rise through a bottle bank or knife factory
  8. Rob poyser. and Danny butler I wasnt too keen name dropping
  9. I got mine for £340 all in, a very good price imo great frames and it will last me years if I snap it I can just weld it back and good as new u can't say that about any other frames really except Marino. But the jaf will be much cheaper posting back for any repairs
  10. I am sure at some point rob will have a go and Danny . It will be intresting to see who.prefers it as Danny orders stock and rob prefers mods. Both very capable riders too.
  11. Fail 14 out of 24 right But i am so very British :0
  12. You can use maxxis exo tyres with some Stans sealant, I have setup loads of xc/am bikes riding in the peaks with exo ardent 2.25 rear and highroller 2, 2.4 front. If the high roller drags too much for you then a minion exo not be better for you on the front I Soo look tmz if there are lust versions of these avalable You will be better of running the sealant thou to seal thorn punctures that lust tire will still get.
  13. Here's a nice one near to you http://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/1262036/
  14. 29er is just good for trail riding on a hardtail. Just a thought.
  15. The forks won't work.well and frame won't be far of breaking/ corroding. Better of buying a 29er hardtail new or 2nd hand
  16. It's was on the 18-14 gearing all day. I could try a 13.
  17. If the piston is jammed in the back, check the resevoir cap seals if you really struggle to get the cap seal back on he has contaminated the seals with dot 5 or mineral oil.
  18. Explain properly then ? U can't just say the forces go backwards more because I say so
  19. I quite often find myself flying backwards across gaps I also heard taps are best done in reverse. Yes there are backwards forces involved the ones that are generaly helped out by those things on the ends of your legs
  20. No you would more likely snap the arms on the rotor doing that
  21. All the stuff you have looks right in the picture. It could be a fail due to the only two things I can think of. When you fit the rotor do all the bolts till there half a turn of, then pull the rotor in the direction which it will take the brake force and tighten the bolts nice n tight. I have been told but never heard of it happening of the rotor moving around the tight bolts so the leading edge comes into contact with the bolts, which in some rare cases can bend the rotor. Or of the hub isn't champhered on the bolt threads. The same could happen. To check this take the rotor off and look at the threaded part of the disc tabs. If the holes are not countersunk it could be causing you issues but this usualy only causes noise from the brake. But we are talking trials abuse so it could cause unnessasary stress in the rotor Can we have a photo from the back so we can see the rotor running through the caliper to check your alignment
  22. Yep Ian using pm with adaptors. 160 on the mod and now using 180 pm on a 24" no problems. Look at fails video on the congleton video. The rotor is still ok to ride after a bit if a tweak
  23. Weight and 140 discs ar less likely to bend. They work better than bmx brakes too
