The spokes are steel once the head beds in and the angle is rebent the spoke tension drops a lot. And loose spokes will rattle and rub the angle part and eventually snap yes, so just retension the wheel a few times while it beds in or use the washers.
Both of you are right, Ali probbably checks his wheels often. And gets no problems.
Same as I do. I have never had a spoke snap in wheels I own and keep tight I am sure anyone else who looks after a good build will say the same. For customers wheels I use the washers because they wont check the spoke tension enough
