  1. Who runs saints we need to get both bikes together and do a test. If I have new forks and front disc on my steel 24" soon I will enter a comp on it just to prove a point
  2. uci riders ride what they are given by there sponsors. and can usualy have lots of maggy spares on hand if one were to break. break just what i thought ? people on here seem to worry too much about bending a steel disc, which quite easily can be straightened. when i used to run maggys the problems i had were levers snapping, hoses getting caught on rocks and splitting and worst of all constantly loosing bite due to mud or water. using discs now the only problem i get is if i bend the rotor i need to bend it back or pull out my spare and fit it. i am running 160mm front and rear on my mod and 180mm on my 24" both have more than enough bite to hold on some of the more challenging gaps and hooks i am doing. i havent used hope trial brakes from the older versions but these new trialzones are amazing imo they have more power than avid elixir's avid code 2005 models. shimano 2012 deore's, and possibly saints.

  8. i had that exact same creak from my hope crown race, iyou beat me too it, just read the whole thread as well if it comes back thou i was going to try out a steel crown race without the split on it. i think the creaking is down to the crown being a better fit for supension forks ect..

    Snapped

i use the kmc kool chains curently been using a k710sl for 6 months with the split link and it still feels and looks spot on. a bit of advise when buying your chains take a good look at how the pins have been riveted to stop the outer plates spliting the k710sl chain is riveted all round the pin as the pins are hollow. cheap chains has a cross rivet which can be in some cases weaker and more likely to split. . when i used cheaper chains years ago i rearely snaped chains on the link without signs of a failed pin and if they did snap it was usualy at the piont where the kmc k710 is beefed up to not snap.

  13. ust tires in 19" and ust rims. i do already rin a maxxis creepy creawler with a 14" tube streched over my onza diamond rim on tubeless. its been good for the life of the tire which is now running out of tread not one puncture yet hope trial zone discs fitted too i dont see much need for hope rim brakes now i have these there ace i want to see someone make saints in 150mm with screw on freewheel fitment. i am not keen on the isis sytems in use there real heavy and bbs cost far to much to replace.

  17. me and some mates are going to ride the roaches, near leek, staffs this sunday at 12 if your not busy pop down
  18. same for me work n busy round the house. but if you pm me with notice i can ride most sundays
  19. he makes removing the spacers look real easy. new one do come of easy but if your hub is a couple of months old you will find the end spacers are quite seazed. dont worry it will just take a lot more pulling on them in the vice they will come of eventually. with some wiggling and pulling. i prefer to use wet chain lube on the pawls to allow a fast engangemnt skip free. allthough the freehub will need a regular clean out if you do use wet lube.
  20. so its street trials improving? should it be called sti
  21. new rim time for sure, unless you do some mental welding tricks. i dont advise welding but it would be the only fix for that
  22. sucks doesn't it you get paid then all the bills are paid and thers nothing left to buy bike parts. my mortgage makes sure of that for me
  23. adjusting the travel does nothing to the damping. on most rockshox you have adjustable rebound and compression. so you can set it how you like. the argyles had a lock out too. which helped in some occasions
