  4. all organic pads are ok kool stop dont make different organic pads i remember years ago a few companys were using alloy rotors with special brake pads, i think it was koxx or monty. but i am talking about 2001-2002 and i think disc brakes have got so good steel works better now. you know
  5. i read a post earlier this week it said there are these types of trial rider. comp trials ( natural) street trials (urban) tgs trials and something else i forget. isnt street the same as tgs really? or have got it all wrong
  6. i had some argyle rct forks they were stupid light and strong. i had a go of running them at 70mm and it works just pop loads of travel spacers in them, it should work for all rockshox air forks too.
  7. awsome riding, i cant wait for the next nationals now
  8. wow rob warner base jump pedals i had some of those when they were new and some fsa power pro cranks, mega. i may know of a set of sunn bmf 32h rims for this. i will ask around for you
  9. i think i must have been away for some time as i have never heard of tgs style before. so what type of riding is it?
  10. my old bikes townsend 12 speed atb raleigh bsa steel shopper universal bmx merdia 21 speed rigid steel bike raleigh flogger steel jump bike and then i found trials i started on a da bomb 20" then got a onza t mag in white then got bored so stared freeride on a new banshee scream then a giant reign x1 then i got a jump bike again an identiti p60 then back to dual sus xc this time giant anthem then giant trance x ltd and back to trials onza master rockman austin and a new identiti p60 which i plan to fit trials 26" forks to.
  11. are you sure they are alloy? alloy discs are super rare mate. post a pic of the brakes
  12. i was going to say sandwich a carbon or fiber glass guard on but i think tin would be cheaper if you got a sheet of fiber glass you could just simply zip tie it to the rotor. i will go get some this week and give it a go, sho you can see what i was thinking. another + would be it would make the rotor stiffer and less likely to bend if you hit it on a rock. i am really liking the idea of a bomb proof rotor too. as a trials use bike
  13. some time a bottom bracket with longer threaded sleeves will work. i have used the race face x type dh bb or shimano saint bb on a bike with the same problem.
  14. the lady who lost her finger. i had turned the crank 1.2 a turn gently. i also know my bosses mate lost his past the 1st join while cleaning his in the workstand with the wheel spinning, he was rubbing the chainstays down with a rag and lost his in a moment. i think most riders would see the danger and not really be at risk. but as the point is here a 10 year old isn't going to see any danger. i would say the best way of making it safe would be to cuy out a thin sheet of metal roughly the size of the rotor you need to cover and drill out the bolt holes and bolt it into place to cover the blades. it would be pretty simple with a sheet of tin and tin snips http://www.screwfix.com/c/tools/tin-aviation-snips/cat831204;jsessionid=2pxYQwPF1NCvZ2bY1xS8TnZrBqLh4J51vJY5J19lMxGvx9mWyKp4!-1125716964 http://www.modelshopleeds.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=3342
  15. touch wood i in 9 years working in bike workshops havent lost a finger yet. not to say there isnt time yet
  16. looks like you got lucky with your finger there pal. the ones i have seen are far worse. this is what normaly happens. (just thought those who dont seem to take this quite as serious as they should would like to see.
  17. also if you really like warranty claims for snapped frames i would wait for the lapierre too. also cannondale- crack n fail if a bike seems too light to be true it isnt it will snap.
  18. these look to be the safest ones around really, but not great for trials as the rivets could come loose.

  20. the 2013 5 am is mental it comes with the new fox float 34 forks 160mm travel and light enough to do a long ride and if you are serious about buying one we have a 18" in stock as our test bike you slap an £80 deposit on buying any bike from us and you can test our orange 5, or specialized stumpjumper or any of the others we have. then the £80 is taken off the price when you do buy one. the test is pick up the bike say friday and ride it all weekend and return it say tuesday. you really cant beat this level of service if you are looking at seroius xc/am bikes at £1500-£4000
  21. you could try these i think they would be mint on a trial bike http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=39255
  22. ia few months ago i was in the shop and a lady with her son bought a jump bike in to have the brakes looked at and while i was checking it in the stand i span the wheel to see wahts up and the lady pointed out the problem a little to well and took the tip and the tip of the bone of her index finger on her right hand. it was bloody shocking the wheel didnt even slow down one bit. be warned disc brakes are easily as dangerous as cicular saws.
  23. my guess it would ride something like these old onza bikes as they would have copyed the geo.
