I'm starting to get really pissed off with this thread. Implying that people who take drugs have a boring life is a needless attack. Implying that they take drugs because they can't get laid is a needless attack (plus I doubt anyone would agree that getting laid is easier than popping a pill!). Oh, and just to be overly pedantic because the uneducated are going to prove themselves retarded in their lack of even the simplest facts: Paracetemol? Aspirin? Diazipam?

again, i dont think anyone has positively encouraged any use. I'll gladly be proved wrong on that one though. The point I'm making is that it's dangerous in both directions - having no education on the subject doesnt make someone anymore right than knowing all the facts. But that's the point, everyone should be interested in the FACTS - that's what agreeable opinions are made of. I personally have no problem with someones opinion totally anti drugs as long as it's well informed. I wont profess to know the facts, which is why I haven't spouted any - I only know my own experiences and I haven't at any point said "I didn't OD, so it's not possible" whereas other members are putting across that "if you take drugs you'll DIE" or "people who take drugs are f**kfaces".

not one person in here has said that drugs are a great idea and people should try them... I was addicted to coke for 6 months, ran up £2500 worth of ticks and had to get parents to bail me out. Drugs are NOT cool, but that doesnt mean people should be discriminated against because they want to play in them. *i at no point fought, stole or raped during said addiction.

thanks for the thoughts and that, but without having had your own property rifled through and shit I doubt it's easy to properly grasp how horrid it is. Having a bike nicked is gash, but a laptop with 4 years worth of my solo recordings on, and the main guitar I used, and knowing that someones been through every single draw and cupboard of your personal posessions that you knew, loved, and worked hard for is just taking the f**king biscuit. Thank f**k I didn't have a nice TV.

yea, i'd say don't bother then to be honest, sounds like a lot of hassle. Have you had a look at the compatibility lists on the osx86 wiki? You might be lucky, as I think it's mainly the ATI laptop cards that are badly supported.

as long as you've got no ATI hardware you _should_ be ok. There are workarounds for ATI gear but it's too much hassle with all the other problems I was having...

Thanks Tomm, I agree hugely with the Vista debate, I've spent the last 3 months downgrading from Vista to XP, then still not being happy so going with many different flavours of Linux and trying out the Os86x stuff, which I couldnt get to work on my old hardware. I have used a few macs and everything seems more intuitive and just _better_ than everything else I've tried. I'm willing to pay a premium for that. i dont know whether I can wait for an update... but I guess it's the best option...

HIJACK ALERT!!! I think this will be just a quick question. I had my laptop nicked last night as well as some other stuff, which is going to force me to investigate the Mac option more, as I have been salivating over them for a long while. Presuming that I can only stretch to the cheapest MacBook, is it worth it, or shall I just get a £400 PC laptop? To help with any answers, I would mainly be looking at it for the stability. Day to day usage would be normal internet shit, a little bit of web design, and the odd bit of Logic 8. Logic would only be being used for ideas and stuff, rather than full recording, so i presume I can get away with the low spec? Cheers for your help.

OR? I don't do things by halves mate, the word you needed was AND.... Nah, it just so happens that 2 of them are alcohol and tobacco, I'm sure a load of people on here can "confess" to using those completely legal drugs. A LOT of comments in this thread are complete crap which make me giggle hugely, but none of your surpass Hendrix at the moment. Hang out with some real people and concentrate on what they're doing, a lot of them will be doing drugs of one form or another. This does not make them bad people, it doesn't make them any more/less clever than the rest of humanity. It's just a choice. Choose life, I chose something different.
