  1. tempted, but am asking other sources first
  2. sorry all the high bb lovers out there, but I just will never uderstand your love of them
  3. I love it, I want a set of forks with +20 post mounts so I can use an avid mech without the heavy adaptor
  4. polyurethane is good, so is polybutamene (sp) find a local buisness that deals with the two types and ask/buy some in different durometers and test them. I have bought about 7 different compounds from my supplier, two seem good.
  5. the loudest brake I had was koxx bloxx greens on a harsh grind. I dont like loud brakes though, makes manuals more tricky my v brake I have now is silent going forwards, but has a loud HONK backwards.
  6. quite common, iolo has snapped 3 I think

way to go buddy some nice lines there, real good riding but its VERY tgs, like ben says, try some different stuff, tap 90 on rails wall rides, bunnyhops ect ect otherwise very smart
  8. rolling rather than hopping is good in my books at the mo. Chris Akrigg is my mr motivator
  9. I would avoid a chris king front hub, the axles snap and the spokes pull though the flange. I would however reccomend a hope pro 2, I have had mine for 7 months without any problems.

not a fan....whats wrong with gears?
  11. ok, now my internet is working, I am going to do my virsion of events..... set off a week before the comp in spain, it was bloody hot here actually, 32 degrees our car said! The ferry across to spain was pleasent, saw some tuna in a feeding frenzy which was nice. Got to spain and started the long drive to the venue, took two days. The town we were in was the 2nd oldest in spain, it was really medevil looking and made a nice change to all the modern cities we have over here. We had 4 or 5 days before the comp, things got pretty boring, but fortunatley Jack Meak, Sam Wheeler, Nick Goddard, Tom and co were all there to keep me sane. The sections were really close to the town, really big round rocks but unfortunatley no shade! it was on average around 38 degrees I recken. The sections were all doable, apart from one (expert was bad enough, but there is no master rider on this planet who can get up an 8ft rock with no ramp!) Oddly, the young 20" riders rode the same areas as the 26" sections but with different gates, I would have expected them to be taken out, but to my amazment they were left in! making some sections very confusing.....on the river section I missed a gate because of them and got a 5 I would have come 2nd if I had cleaned it like I did on the 2nd lap. I ended up on 37 dabs, same as mr butler, wayne was 1 dab better and was good enough to get 3rd (well done Wayne!!) and gave was 3 dabs away and grabbed 2nd (bloody well done geez!) Vittorio had a good ride and finnished on 24, pretty clear of the pack. I left early the next morning for the looooooong drive to france, it took 4 days (lots of sleeping and sheer bordem took place) Got to france pretty early and pitched my tent. the event was held at a farm owned by a rider (Iforget his name), he has converted some woodland into a trials heaven (think hook woods) with rocks, tyres, logs, fountains ect, very nice! The sections were on both the man made area and the natural limestone rocks a bit up a track, they were more techincal than the lower sections, pretty slippery and very hoppy, I was very worried about them as they looked tricky to me. back at the camp site jack and the roadtrippers finally turned up, to satisfy some bordem, we entertained ourselves with bottle rockets, both water and fire powered (hours of fun). The comp finally came, we started with the technical rock sections that I was worried about. I needn't have been so worried, there were 6 sections up there, I dropped one dab I then dropped 2 dabs on a section in the main area for a first lap score of 3. The 2nd lap went pretty much the same, apart from I dropped 3 on the same section I got the dab on before (silly mistakes) but I only dropped one more for a 2nd lap score of 4 (7 dabs overall if your crap at maths, my best result ever!!) Danny was close behind on 15 and with an injured thumb! Vitorrio had a bad first lap, but an ace 2nd to get 3rd. I also have to say bloody well done to nick goddard for 4th place and ben savage for winning masters!! Lois morgan is also doing well with 2 3rds!) There was some good entertainment that night with a live band and fireworks, but I was nackered so went to bed early.....set off early the next morning to get the ferry and I am home now. got a couple of weeks training to do now then its off to singapore and japan! wish us luck guys!

    World Round

whooo! cheers for the congrats guys, I have always wanted to win a world round, I never thought I would have a chance with butler riding though (hope the thumb gets better soon). I think I was the ONLY rider there on a v brake and possible the only rider to ever win a category with one too well done to mr savage, you deserved that win, well done also to nick goddard, he always quietly gets on with riding and then pounces on everyone at the end with a low score. I am pretty tired now, 2600 miles of driving is tireing. thanks again
  13. yaarrrr, tis indeed some fine photoin, ye looks be be raaardin tharrr bike mighty well
  14. I also reccomend upgrading the pads, theres a whole range of pads to choose from, plazmatic, koxx bloxx, zoo, etc (koxx bloxx in your chosen colour might be safest option) Get your dusty grinder and fit a new disk (I use a thin metal cutting one) then give your rim a few passes so the grooves are vertical (same was as the spokes), the brakes should work really well then in any weather. might be worth buying "dirty tricks and cunning stunts" tutorial video, its features Martyn Ashton and Martin Haywes (look on ebay) and can really help you learn the basics while you laugh at the acting
  15. fuglywugly, but it is a python, so what do you expect
  16. what are you de-greasing them with? if its a car product then it could contain oil (to stop bits rusting) give them a wash in soapy water, then normal water and let them dry out and try them, maybe file, grind off the top layer to get to new material.
  17. I am only bmx when I am on street and I havnt ridden street for 5 weeks!! its not just to make the bike more bmxy though, it makes the bike more comfy overall and you will be able to go bigger, no lie
  18. its not the rise that matters, its the sweep. Those bars only have sweep, where you make it point is up to you. straight up like you have in the pic makes your elbows stick out and hunches your back up, making it harder to pull the front up. If you turn the bars so the sweep is a few degrees backwards it brings your wrists, elbows and shoulders into a much more natural position, this position is more efficient for pulling up on the bars, also makes the bike easier to manual, bunnyhop and spin. trust me, I'm a horse
  19. sorry Tom, the car is pretty full now, in fact I dont know how we are going to fit all our stuff in!! good luck getting a lift
  20. tilt your bars back, it will make the world of difference!
  21. I am currently using a 73 x 118mm bb axle with my middleburns, theres plenty of room. also, the stem "should" be fine, just keep an eye on it.
