  1. I am only bmx when I am on street and I havnt ridden street for 5 weeks!! its not just to make the bike more bmxy though, it makes the bike more comfy overall and you will be able to go bigger, no lie
  2. its not the rise that matters, its the sweep. Those bars only have sweep, where you make it point is up to you. straight up like you have in the pic makes your elbows stick out and hunches your back up, making it harder to pull the front up. If you turn the bars so the sweep is a few degrees backwards it brings your wrists, elbows and shoulders into a much more natural position, this position is more efficient for pulling up on the bars, also makes the bike easier to manual, bunnyhop and spin. trust me, I'm a horse
  3. sorry Tom, the car is pretty full now, in fact I dont know how we are going to fit all our stuff in!! good luck getting a lift
  4. tilt your bars back, it will make the world of difference!
  5. I am currently using a 73 x 118mm bb axle with my middleburns, theres plenty of room. also, the stem "should" be fine, just keep an eye on it.
  6. 20-18!! its pukka, 1 in every 10 master riders reccomend it!
  7. I still like my v brake and now with my updated super uber home made pads, the brake is unstopable!!!! it will surly take over the world (known as mars)
  8. he used to hate the idea of disks, he was deffo a magura fan, but now he seems to really like a front disk...I think "smoooooth" was how he put it.
  9. I found I could get bigger gaps with a spinnyer ratio, the extra acceleration helps, same with sidehops ect. I was running 20-19 for the last few months, but I am now on 20-18, seems nice enough.

    Wtf Is This?

could be a hoffman, a german frame maker. the maggie is sandwiched between two plates, the plates act as boosters which should make the brake plenty stiff, could even make the frame feel "softer" as the back end might have a bit of up/down flex because of plates rather than tubes. who knows.........god?
  11. I am allowed to get fed up in at least one comp in 7 years I think its all in the head though, if I had been in the right mindset I would have carried on, but I wasnt having fun and I was risking hurting myself or the bike. I still think retireing was the best thing for me to do.
  12. I cant believe it!! I actually retired...I have only done that once before in 7 years, that was due to my stem breaking. This time however things wernt going my way and I got pretty fed up. I set off at 9, its about a 25min journey for me, but after 2 hours of trying to find the venue I gave up and went home! My mum said she would come and help out at the comp and navigate there, but we got lost again but eventually found it (were there any tyke signs on the road??) after a late start, I started the sections badly, 4 5s in a row!!, my balance was all over the place. Then it started raining more, then it got windy and then to top it off I fell off the easiest bit of a section ever into a bunch of really strong nettles, I stung all my arms and it still hurts now I then went and waited in the rain for the next section for 15 mins only to 5 the first rock, I then saw there was at least a 20 rider que at the next section, I was really fed up and I had had enough, so off I went. well done to everyone who stayed with it and thanks to everyone for putting the event on, it must be a bit demeaning to see people retire, but it wasnt because the comp was bad, just because I had an off day. cant wait for the next one
  13. I use a steel hanger that I made, its 4mm thick heat treated steel, VERY strong!!!!! I have had it on for maybe 6 months now and its not even thought of bending, even with landing with all my weight directly on the mech! you might break your mech a bit easier, but they are pretty tough and can cope with a fair whack or two.
  14. I have ridden in Slovakia Czech Sweeden and the canary islands I am off to spain, france, singapre and japan in a few weeks though.
  15. looks nice enough, no gash colours, keeping it simple but I still hate those frames never ridden anything worse in my life
  16. I hate with a passion flouresent rims
  17. any disks that use mineral oil, shimano and magura are the only two I can think of now. Though why you would want to bleed a disk with water is another matter
  18. the new ashton, mk5? mk6? I cant remember, its the newer longer frame with little gussets in the rear triangle. I would be mighty impressed if your pall broke one! and PLEASE dont say "cuz" it drives me up the wall, I really do despair at the language young people use these days
  19. ohhhh OHHHHHH BURNLEY!!!!! its the BEST town I have ridden for street! ohhh, I am going there again soon
  20. EAST LANCS!!!!!!!!! gotta be one of the best places in the uk for riding oppertunities, the place is FULL of quarries, also your not that far from blackstone edge (which is fecking awesome!)
  21. tartybikes is a jolly good shop to buy these frames from
  22. I wouldnt count on it just yet, martyn didnt like how the rear disk felt. though...if I have it my way, they will have a very beefy mount indeed! but I might have to pesuade martyn a wee bit first
