If you do weights, it will only improve your pull-ups if you do the specific muscle groups linked to doing pull-ups. Obviously by doing pull-ups, you will be exercising these muscles, and your body gets used to doing them, hence the improvement. What you said about being confused between strength and power is bollocks. Strength is basically being able to apply as much force as possible, which weights will do by increasing your muscle strength. E.g. they make you strong. Although when people say power they tend to mean strength, power is actually the amount of energy given out over time, for example being able to sidehop high means you can put out a lot of energy out (which goes into potential energy via height) in a tiny amount of time, e.g. very fast movement. I think you are the one confused with power and strength.

Bunnyhop if you want to go obscenely high. My main way of backwheeling is pedal-upping, but I can only get around 38" to backwheel maximum that way, yet as soon as I learn to bunnyhop, I found myself going on to a new world, you can just get sooo much more power. Scarier though IMO, so I only tend to bunnyhop to bashguard, not backwheel (incase I miss or something, in which case I would die), but got around 54" on my zona to bashguard with no problems. Bunnyhopping is the way to go really high, seriously.. Then try bunnyhops into hooks for crazy height.

Lmao. Thats one scary-ass bitch. Oh wait, its not a bitch.. And it's looking rather too excited too Edit: Oh wait, no,.. that's its stomach, blurred.

Use powertab, I'm pretty sure it goes upto 32

Are you just pretending to be a moron, or are you a natural? Where the hell did you hear this? And if you believed it, you're just gullible, so don't enforce your beliefs on others with so much insulting before you get your own facts right! Sheeshh.. Since when does it matter what the weight is you are lifting, weather it is made up of your own bodyweight, or metal weights? Weight is weight, aslong as you are doing it in the same range of motion it doesn't matter, you still have to apply the same force! For your information, it is generally acknowledged in the bodybuilding world that freeweights are a better form of exercise than cable exerises or other forms, as they also build up your more minor stability muscles, not just the main muscle being used.

Protein by the bucketload! Either order some whey protein that you can mix into milkshakes, or get loads of protein out of eating as much meat and eggs as you can. If you want, you could supplement on something like ZMA capsules aswell (as through working in the gym, your muscles often develop minor deficiencies in zinc and magnesium, found in the caps), I've just started doing that.

Lol, you should see this guy. He's about 6 foot 3 as a guess, but I remember when I was going gliding with him a couple of years ago, he was 19 stone (probs about 15 years old), so tenchnically wasn't allowed in the front cockpit. If you have ever seen the film "Of mice and men", he reminds me a lot of lennie- a really nice simple down-to-earth guy, who is naturally built gigantically (and a bit overweight lol). I'm chuffed with my 80kg press i did the other day though, 5 reps, but I'm only 12 stone. I can't ride atm, so I'm gunna go full-out into some bodybuilding perhaps. I can already fly 24kg per hand max, although it canes like helll lol. Are you all into protein shakes or anything? I really reccomend myprotein.co.uk- I got 5kg of whey for £32, so I find it pretty good to just blend a huge amount of the stuff into a shake after each time I go to the gym, say about 100g powder into a pint of milk

Ive started to get back to working out every other day lately, simply because I can't ride due to a wrist injury (left wrist, not my right thank god! haha). I used to work out quite a lot at the age of 15/16, but havent for a year and half! Just out of curiosity, how much can you guys 1 rep max on things like: Butterflies (e.g. going down to horizontal, with straight arms, weight in kgs per dumbell)? Bench press (kgs), etc? I met an old mate at the gym the other day, and foook me he's powerful now! He's only 16/17, but can benchpress 120kg..

Ive still got Bongo's old white monty frame in my garage, i bought it off him, but ended up cracking it

That was posted on here ages ago and I even have it on my ipod, however I hadn't seen the origional (?) clip (second one you posted), so thanks for that !

I tried to take a pic of my room, but I literally don't have the space to move in here to take one that shows more than about a foot, there's so much stuff just piled up at the moment. 1 les paul leccy 1 squire 10w amp

Nyarr, I didnt know this.. Is there any way you can convert a 36h profile into a 32h? I'm guessing the internals are exactly the same?
-
When you click on the picture, it says at the top 500g. Thats about the same weight as your average wide rear trials rim, I think (e.g. ronnie/try-all, etc)
-
According to the fashion of the shoes in that pic I'd say its about 20 years old, which means it will be back in in 5 years!

I got a powerball yesterday, but I think it might be a bit dodgy.. Do all of yours make a slight grinding sound sometimes when you have started it and are trying to get it up to speed? A sorta plastic-on-plastic slipping sound?

What Are The Longest Forks Available For Stocks
SQuiT-man replied to mat hudson's topic in Trials Chat
"Pace expert" trials forks are pretty damn long, at something like 435mm, I loved mine-light enough (1100gish) and very stiff, until I noticed (quite by chance) a crack beginning to appear around the brake mounts, but I guess I pull pretty hard on my brakes, and I managed to claim on warranty anyway. Other than that, if you want to go even longer, a bit heavier, but perhaps stronger, could check out the clubroost rigid forks, I think they weigh around 1200g and are 440mm long. Or what about kniefens? Havent heard anything about those in ages.. -
Dont You Just Hate Those Links To The Screaming Pictures?

rotflmfao. My favourite particular moment is when his crying goes comically high pitch. -
Flange is best They dont go the whole way though boring. EDIT: Actually JT was right, massage is best. Now im bored.

Cheers for the comments Jake, I will of course be mentioning little assumptions like that in my write-up. The co-efficient of friction between the braking surface and brakepad can easily be calculated, as you know R as 1N and can calculate F, so it can be put into the equation F= mu x R. I'll probably go a bit further into it by involving surface areas of pads, etc, too. I won't be involving the chemical composition though, it is Physics afterall, not chemistry! Besides, without writing off to each manufacturer/facory the pads were making, travelling halfway across the world, or using insanely expensive equipment, how am I meant to find this out for such a number of pads? Cheers again, Scott

I see what you mean by all that, but if these other companies ended up making "so much more money" than Coustillier, why didn't they just sell their frames at a reasonable price to start with? That way, that market (the t-rex market, in this case) would have been more their own from the start. Or perhaps, they could have done the Koxx idea of selling your frame under normal name (Koxx) when released, then later on forming a side-company (Yabbaa) to sell the frame for less once the origional demand has gone, so you get the best of both markets. I personally think the competition betwen frame to become more and more low-priced is excellent news for our sport. Bike geo's are already great, so will continue so (unless the trend becomes in "short bikes" now, but we have already been there, so not as much R+D needs doing). It does mean trials has become more affordable, which is promising to the growth of the sport

Ipod 30gb= around 2 and a bit hours video playback (enough to watch your average full-length film), or 14 hours music Ipod 60gb= around 3 hours (ish) video playback, 20 hours music Thats what I did, £201 posted with FREE inscription = bargain! I got "Lord Scott Gillam 'The Great'" inscribed on mine.

I don't really understand what you are getting at, I am not doing anything regarding the chemical composition of the different rubbers, just their evident performance- it is for Physics. I guess if there are any similarly composed rubbers in the pads I use, it should (hopefully) show in the result. The project doesnt just involve the pad material either, it also involves the area of material in contact with the rim. This is easy, could be done a number of ways, even just building the flywheel around an already-built wheel. The frictional forces will be almost inaplicable to the other forces present, due to the pure amount of momentum the flywheel will have. Besides, the friction will be constant throughout all the experiments, so can be ignored- it will still show relative performances. I could do, but there are many ways of doing it with the same result. And yes.

I got another 3 weeks before I start the final experiment, which will take about 3 weeks. I'm currently making a 25kg flywheel, with the brake surface being a DX32 rim, which I will accellerate up to a certain speed, so that it has constant momentum throughout all of the tests. I have constucted an attatchment to a force-measuring device to allow me to apply a force to the (smooth) rim at a constant force of 1 Newton perpendicular to the surface, and will basically measure the time taken for each pad to stop the rim (it takes a surprisingly long time, so the variables are large enough to reduce human error significantly). Ive got loads of time left so will probably enhance the experiment quite a lot, perhaps using a ground rim surface aswell for a second set of results on pad designed for a grind, but that is my trials experiement so far, simplified. From these results I'm going to be making further calculations, blah blah. What do you think?

Its my personal belief that you can go far heigher bunnyhopping into a hook, as I personally find I can get much more height with a bunnyhop over a pedal-up, and can go at a much faster speed into it. But I'm sure others will disagree.
