  1. Lol, this looks like an interesting debate. Personally, I like koxx and what they do for the sport, but I definately agree that they would sell more if they lowered their prices, and could then make perhaps even more profit and help the sport grow much more at the same time. I dont think it has anything much to do with colours of frames personally, I mean you could buy your deng frame with good geometry for £300 and have it painted proffessionally any colour you wanted for another £30 or whatever. You say that, but Im sure an anodised (or silver-choice of colour! lol) zona zip for £159, cheapest frame out there, would out-last an XTP mod at £550 million per frame.
  2. Cheers for uploading it Luke, Im downloading it now! Sounds like a good vid
  3. I had a look, found the thread, clicked on the link, but it is no longer on the guy's file brouser. Any chance you could upload it on tv.isg, or eengoedidee, or Simon's new "pro" one? Cheers Scott
  4. I think it is if you were to draw a line between the two axles, the rise vertically above that line to the centre of the BB.
  5. Its just how they seem to come across by the sort of people they sponsor (zoo sponsoring people like CLS and tunni, whereas cleanbikes sponsor more competition-entering-type people), the kind of customer service you get from them etc. I know cleanbikes doesnt make frames, I never said they did, but they seem to have a more personal approach when you contact them, and from what I have seen they have a more personal relationship with thier sponsors too. You might be onto something about companies sponsoring mates or people they bump into a lot though.
  6. Yeh, but only to bash mind you. I swear bunnyhops are majorly overlooked nowadays, I mean there is a reason Benito and TRA are doing them, you can get majorly more power! I can't pedal-up more than 38 inches, but when I get the guts to do a bunnyhop up something (which I'e always had a fear of because of a lot of accidents I had where I looped out onto my back when learning to start riding trials), I did 53" almost to backwheel first time on a mod, but slipped down to bash! I swear a lot of the more powerful riders on here could bunnyhop closer to 60 inches on a long and low MOD with a bit of practice.
  7. Im sure they would do if there were any around, it would make good business sense
  8. You all seem to forget one important thing: Companies are trying to MAKE MONEY for themselves- they have to earn a living, and any oppertunities that they can promote their company to make more profit than they spend in doing so is a good oppertunity. Obviousy this seems to range a bit between some companies, such as deng (purely into profit, so sponsors pretty much only riders who can go big and do movies, for their "GO BIG" image that they know people will want to follow when people see their videos- this can bee seen perhaps by the fact that Deng may not have met a lot of his riders- its the paperwork that counts, which IMO is completely fair enough) and cleanbikes (a little less into just profit, they seem to actually slightly "help" riders a bit up to the top, probably because they get pleasure out of seeing their riders in their county aspire). Ways to promote your trials company well are: *Sponsor an amasing comp rider- if they win the champs, people will all be like "I want one of those!!" *Sponsor someone who makes amasing videos- people will be like "Those frames make you ride HUGE" *Sponsor a girl who perhaps isnt as good as some of the male competition (no offense)- makes your company look good, and promotes the company to girls, plus makes it look like "anyone can ride that bike" (no offense.. lmao at how bad that all sounds) *Spnosor a young 'un who is good for his age- promotes company to other younger people who want the image/to ride like that Thats how I see it.
  9. I can bunnyhop 54" on my mod . Bit inconsistent mind you. Mark- you can pedal-up 50" on your zona?? I find that far more impressive.. Ive never been able to pedal-up to backwheel anything more than 38" to backwheel, and pedal-upping has always been my main way of "upping", - I only learnt to bunnyhop lately! Whats your secret?

  11. I rode a 100mm stock stem on my mod for ages with no problems. I personally think something like a hi-fi stem, if it is any shorter (but still high) would help me a lot for things like rolling down stuff that I personally just can't do well on a mod. It might also help if you wanted to learn to tap your mod, and some other things, but other things would suffer, such as wheelswaps.
  12. Lol, go on Tartybikes! I wouldnt mind seeing this, particularly a rear maxxis creepy crawler on a rear onza hog/koxx rim
  13. They haver them in sizes 4-7. SIZE 4!!? Wtf. I dont know many trials riders with size 4 feet, unless people have been training their baby brothers to ride and might buy them some Yik Trials shoes.
  14. IMO thats the most accurate highlight of the characteristics of mods and stocks that I have seen, and I totally agree with every point, especially for mod: "Harder to roll down things Easier to go over the handlebars (but less scary when you do) Doing wedge or wheelbase moves is less comfortable" Which people dont tend to consider. Id reccomend beginners to start on mod for their first couple of years perhaps, learn the basics ultra-fast, then when they move to stock, moves will require more power, but some moves seem much easier
  15. Lmao. Skill-wise, I like Benito and Dani Comas (and Cesar, but he's retired from comps), they are absurdly more skilled than many of the riders mentioned in this thread, however I like TRA purely because of his powerful man-technique that I'd be more likely to aspire towards.
  16. Lol, rafal you are an awesome rider, but why did u film urself in ur boxers jumping up and down? Especially seeing as it was focussed in ONLY on your boxer region. bet you must be having a right laugh that u will have managed to make a whole bunch of trials riders now catch a glimpse of ur crutch. Meh whatever turns you on
  17. Well personally I enjoyed watching that vid more than any other vid I have seen of the cousts
  18. Nice pics mark, you look like you're really suited to the zona and riding it really well
  19. Hi, could any of you clever people help me with this problem- My computer used to play .mov files fine, but a few months ago it started playing with without sound. All other movie files work perfectly well. I got a feeling it happened since I downloaded new software like codecs, or got quicktime pro or something. What do you reccomend? I cant hear the sound on TM2!! Helpppp Scott
  20. Basically, IMO out of all the mods I have ridden, Id say it is by far the best value mod frame out there at the moment, rides a dream, and rides nicely for natural, street, or whatever trials you want to do on it . Since I've got it my sidehopping confidence has gone up majorly over my monty 221, as has my rolling gaps, gaps to nose, and basically everything. Plus it is 100 times less back-crippling, and a third of the price.
  21. My names Chris King. Personally, Ive found what works best is to give ur gf a good hard slap.
  22. I think the new ashton frames are pretty swish myself personally, and fall well withing your budget for a good overall frame. However, if you want a stock that'll ride more like a bigger version of your old python, Id reccomend getting something longer and with BB rise. Its a personal choice about it, but personally I love BB rise, and think something like the Czar would suit you well after a week or so of getting entirely used to it and falling in love with it.
  23. Get yourself checked out, it sounds like you have dislocated something or something funky has happened.. My "sprained" wrist is still screwed after weeks, I should have got it looked at to start with, dunno if it even is a sprain now, Ive had it so long. Grrr I wanna ride
