They're performance isn't bad, but the reds are MUCH better for smooth rims.

Ooh, he's browsing here now, along with JT! I guess its not him then.

I've often wondered who the bee is, i don't think i'll ever find out though. I reckon danny or tom could find out, but then it'd ruin the idea of him, like finding out santa is actually your parents. Maybe its best not to know?

Not quite, it'd be the same as putting a piece of paper under a coin and flicking it up in the air, the coin would come off the paper. You'd need something like blue tac or a paper clip to replicate the idea of hanging on to the bars and you should find the paper stays attached, and whilst maybe not keeping full contact with the coin at all times, it will be attached for the important bits. Basically just holding the bars higher than your legs will allow keeps the feet on the pedals, along with pedal pins/shoes. Its EXACTLY the same principle behind the phone magic trick. Get a mobile phone in the palm of your open hand with your palm facing upwards. Accelerate your hand upwards and on the way up flip you hand over and continue moving it upwards. The phone will accelerate faster than your arm allows which gives the impression of it being "stuck" to your hand.

I used to have that same problem up until recently. I never did drop gaps because of the amount of times my hubs have skipped/chains have snapped on them. I think at the minute though, i just couldn't give a shit, which seems to help a lot.
-
My pro 2's been great, it has skipped on me, nothing major like when kings skip (complete skip not a little crunchy sounding one)... just a loud bang noise, quick loss of engagements and enough of a warning for me to be able to keep my weight back and try and ride the move out "safely". Had it since last summer and i reckon i'll have a go at taking it apart pretty soon to give it a spring clean.

I'd reccommend trying out tar first, you could probably get blocks of wood to stop you properly if you used enough tar. The only downside is that you have to keep re-applying it throughout the ride. If you want to keep a smooth rim it is definately better to get some smooth rim specific pads.

Its not just my opinion, theres a lot of people who have found the same. With an already stiff frame, fitting a booster generally reduces pad life and hold. I have a theory as to why but its hard to explain and i'm not actually certain of it being the correct reason behind it. When i changed from a base ta26 (flexy frame) to a t-rex with 4 bolts i fitted a booster and couldn't get any pads to work at all, plazzies, cousts, joypads, koxx greens/yellows, rock blues etc. They would all slip when gapping on a flat floor which sometimes caused the bike to loop out. Removing a booster fixed all the problems i was hhaving with it. I don't know whether its the fact your running the kool stops as they're a very hard pad already, but if you try it with other pads i'd be very suprised if you didn't find the same issues.

Style can be learned, it can be copied, though to how well depends entirely on how good you are at reproducing it. Say someone starts trials and only watches one rider they'll have a similar style to them, purely because they don't know anything else. There might be a point where different bikes and the individuals body builds cause slight differences in the style but this helps to create individuality. Your always better having your own style which tends to just happen by itself, but if you don't like it or think you look too tense on the bike etc, the only way to let your own style shine is to relax. Once your confident and comfortable you find your body just "flows" better throughout your lines and you'll look a load better when you watch it. If you try and relax but still look too tense then next time your on the bike, try and do things as slowly as possible. If your gapping to front stay on the front wheel for a while as your bodyweight slowly shifts forwards then try and smoothly wheelswap out of it. If your trying just a normal gap sit there at the take off, nice and relaxed then when your ready jump across and try to emphasize smoothness. You'll get it with practice and by filming yourself so you can see where to improve.

Don't fit a brake booster to a t-rex, especially if your running a grind. The frame is stiff enough already and fitting a booster actually makes the brake worse. When i used to use a booster on my frame no pads would work properly, they wroe down faster, they'd always slip and make no noise at all which isn't great for your confidence. Literally as soon as i took the booster off mid-ride last summer the same pads were loud as hell and held properly, and they seemed to stop wearing down at all so they lasted a hell of a lot longer.

I was krisboats, now i'm Krisboats.... don't ever remember changing it though. Don't think i ever can either. I love how theres 5 pages of google results for my name though Too much time on a computer i guess. It also means i get to see how famous i am http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/pub/...you-awards.html Both me and endohopper make an appearance on this strangely built page. http://jay662.phreesite.com/instructions-r...sal-zenith.html

Orange? Seems like a good idea. I didn't realise plazmatic have been around so long though, pretty impressive.

The backings themselves are exceptionally hard to find.

I know the OCUK forum has seperate for sale and wanted sections. Its so much easier, you look through all the things for sale and for some reason you just peruse the wanted sections not really expecting to see anything when BAM! a topic title stands out, you have a look at the thread and realise an old part you've got lying around doing nothing is just what someone is after. Easy way to clear space and make some extra pennies. It also leads to better topic titles and less overall confusion. Its a positive vote from me for a section split .

I generally don't think people in todays society are ready to accept things with fresh eyes. With so much media on stereotypical youths causing trouble people seem to be stuck in the mindset that because we're doing something different, it must automatically be bad. Maybe its closer to the idea that people fear the things they don't understand, but regardless of the reasons as to why, society just isn't ready to accept something new and completely different to anything they've seen before. It might be impressive talent-wise and that might be something a select few can appreciate, but on the whole we won't be seen in a different light anytime soon, because people lead their own little lives, stuck in routine, and they can't physically see something without prejudice against it because they've been programmed into a way of thinking thats hard to break free of.

Yes, as pointed out above. Your unfortunately not allowed to post for sale threads in new members chat as anybody could sign up and start scamming people out of their parts/money. As i'm sure you can appreciate nobody wants that, so as an extra measure to keep everyone that little bit safer its just not allowed. If you want to sell it straight away ebay might be a better option, or alternatively get yourself posting some well written and helpful posts on here and you'll be validated, giving you access to the full members section.

Gonna have to do something to get my funds more balanced. I thought i had a fair amount of money left to cover most of this moneths rent installment, unfortunately it looks like i'm going to be short with that, by a couple of hundred. So its time to get some stuff on ebay and get a job. At least i have 4 weeks off to earn some money i guess Next installment is the 7th for i think too.

To be honest though, and i don't mean this offensively to the riders, the stock riders the guy on the blue steed especially, looked far more competent than the mod riders in the skatepark environment. The mod riders couldn't judge how much speed they needed, didn't pump the ramps to gain that extra little bit of momentum and didn't try to get out of the quarter pipe in the normal way. The stock riders on the other hand flowed through, pumped into the ramps and generally looked like they new what they were doing. I enjoyed watching the vid though, looked like a fun competition with a good turnout.

Cheers guys. played it pretty casual last night, went for a meal with my parents, came home, downed some vodka, went out to local wetherspoons and then to rileys pool/poker place. Got a free game of pool, £5 off our drinks and we had a fun game of poker against some random drunkards. Had a fair few pitchers of beer last night though, which all smelled like egg mayo and everyone who was out last night woke up this morning feeling like crap. Something dodgey with the beer maybe? Ah well, joint birthday pissup tonight with friends from home coming out as well as uni mates. Should be a laugh. Boumsong, your gay Pints on you tonight/this afternoon.

Nope still around. Though I'll be going for a meal this evening then going out later. I still havn't received your second cheque, your pads are all cut and ready. Just still had no sign of the cheque. If you want to get hold of me personally my mobile number is [PM if still required], if you are wanting to get hold of me from between 6.00 and 9.00 could you send a text please, as answering a call at the table is a bit rude. Hope to speak from you soon. Kris

Water bleeding [tony the tiger voice] iiiis grrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! [/cereal advert]. Not only is it cheaper, less hassleful and easier to come by, but the lever feel is improved because it doesn't feel so thick and clumsy. Not really ideal for your DOT fluid brakes, but for your maguras with mineral oil in it feels fantastic. Theres the possibility that the seals in your magura will wear out quicker as the water doesn't lubricate them, but that takes ages. I havn't had magura oil in a brake for nearly 3 years.

Joe... Shhhhhhhh, they were believing my excuse of boredom last night
