Thanks guys, got a telephoto lens from my parents, and a wide angle lens from my nan. Got a pretty nice watch too... Feel utterly spoilt now though :$

Cheers guys, time for bed i think.... roll on morning!

Yes, seems to have been more interest and questions about the reds than the yellows. I guess as summer rolls on and the good weather should (hopefully at least) be on the way there'll be a lot of people wanting to prolong their rim life by not running a grind.

At the minute its technically my birthday, though my parents are insisting i wait till morning before i can open my pressies, still treating me like a kid at 21 Dunno why i made the thread really, just waiting to fall asleep and let tomorrow roll on!

They'll be commercially availble within the next week or so i'd imagine, although if your wanting some right away i'm sure it won't be a problem to get that done for you. If you'd like to send us an email we can let you know more about it. Prices will be the same as the yellows for re-fills, yes.

I always make cracks about them as being kiddies bikes, but its generally just banter. Some people prefer them and some people don't, its their choice. If someones good on one then thats fair enough, i guess i do regard mod bikes as making things easier, especially for level gaps and stuff. You could sort of say i have more respect for someone who manages a massive gap on a stock bike, than someone who does the same gap on a mod bike. The levels of riding might be different and so the same gap might be just as challenging for each rider, but i guess previous connotations and bias from being a stock rider myself seem to mask that thought. Basically, mods are kiddies bikes, but i only mean that semi-seriously.

Yep, we sure will. Just waiting for some final feedback from our riders on the performance and durability of the material and they'll be available to everyone through the site. We've had nothing but good feedback from everyone who's used them though, so it looks to be promising. If you have specific requirements for sizes we can cut them for you too, at no extra charge.

Nah, your not too old. Its my 21st birthday tomorrow and i'm not gonna be giving up anytime soon. You won't have forgotten much either, it might take a couple of days to get back into the swing of it but you'll still be able to gap etc. You'll be back in action in next to no time at all.

If you fit a vee booster as well it should make the brake silent despite whatever pads you use. Alternatively our red pads on a smooth rim up front are supposed to be very bitey pads, whilst not making excessive amounts of noise. They should be readily available very soon, but we do have re-fills cut to shape should you want to purchase some sooner.

Its pretty much exactly how mike explained it. The bit we parked the car in was a lay-by on the side of the narrow road and the gate didn't look to be in use (old rusty chain/padlock etc) we just tried to keep the car out the way to avoid causing problems for other drivers. Saying the guy got pretty aggressive is quite vague, after grabbing mikes bag and proceeding to walk off with it without talking to us about what he's doing we gathered our stuff and caught up to him further down the drive to ask what was going on. He then told us that the area wasn't for biking on, we weren't supposed to be there "trashing" the place and that he used to live in london and if we didn't get out he'd either call the police or he'd "sort it out like we do back in london" (from the tone in which it was said it seemed to be a threat). He then said he was often in touch with the owner and that the owner wasn't going to be holding any more tyke trials or allowing bikes on here in the future, when we asked for the owners phone number to apologise and ask if we could ride there he said he didn't have any way of contacting him and didn't know anybody that did. We then proceeded to leave the venue and went to matlock quarry instead, so it was hardly like we were being gobby like it seems to have been implied, we just asked what he was doing with mikes bag, what the rules were on riding there and if he had contact details for the owner. As far as we were aware people went riding there and paid a couple of pounds each to practise at the venue. We were more than willing to slide a few pounds each under the door of the hut once finished (which ended up being about 10 minutes after arriving) which we were under the impression was the general etiquette for riding there. Last time i went i was observing for a comp and really wished i'd got my bike with me that day. It was a last minute decision really as we decided late saturday night/sunday morning not to drive all the way to the other comp somewhere due to being tired from riding saturday. A quick search on the forum for contact details found no joy and not even an owners name, checking on google brought about a year old topic that i'd started myself asking for the contact details.... which also weren't known by anyone who replied then either. We didn't mean to cause any problems and are sorry that we didn't get permission first.

I'm feeling quite let down here today. All this hype about severe weather, all we've had is a few minutes of drizzly rain.

Diamonback Tekiya Or Mission Reefer?
Krisboats replied to adz_rolls's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
The phase frame is very nice, very flicky and still feeling long. -
I've tried one of those before and depending on the rim material its entriely possible to rip chunks (it was about 3mm deep and 4mm across at the top of the rim) out of the rim.

I always found that fitting a really stiff booster to my already stiff frame (onza t-rex) like the echo control booster actually resulted in a worse performing brake than without one. The booster removed any noise and made the setup so stiff the pads wore down faster.

Yep, i agree too, the chemist should be a good place to have a look. You don't want to be looking in somewhere like the boots pharmacy sections, from past experience they don't have them. The little pharmacy specific shops should have them though, and they should have them in a range of sizes. My nan managed to get hold of some massive syringes for use with a feeding tube while my grandad was ill and they worked a treat, nice and strong and with a large volume in them means they can really flush the brake out well. The large connection was better too because i could use a magura barb and screw it into the syringe making it nice and strong.

Sorry, my bad :$

Ha ha, fair enough... though to us it looks like you guys just miss letters out Pretty true, given the reputation of the CRM's and the amount of testing and research thats gone into those, i'd hardly think the PMg's will be a bad product. Where as the rock pads are just a generic baradine product are they not? I don't honestly know how much testing goes into those pads, they don't advertise it as well as the plazmatic company does.

Certainly look fun, although i wonder if they stay looking as good once they've got mud, dirt, dog shit etc on them
-
The reds should be on sale fairly soon, both jonny and danny have said good things about them and both are wanting to try them on the back brake as well at the minute. Once they've been running them for a significant amount of time to ensure the pads work continuously they'll be available for sale. From my own hands on experience they were working very well on an anodised surface without any tar at all and still managing to hold very well. Thanks, the name of the song is cuzco by E.S. That also says i'm over weight, which isn't true.

Those are very small notches on the ring so those springs best be f**king strong! EDIT: in fact, i don't reckon that'll be any good for trials at all. Obviously i've not seen it up close, but the ring drives on kings use the riders pedal strength to force the rings together, i can't see these springs being anywhere near strong enough to generate the same amount of force, and with a smaller contact area than a king too.

Spend up until 8 seconds in the bottom right corner, then spend a while in the top left, then just move up and down a bit and you'll get 19

Thats fine, i've already said that the video isn't intended to show them off to their full performance, just to show that they are working and that they make noise. With you not having access to our email accounts you wouldn't know that the majority of people are asking how much noise the pads make, rather than how well they work. This is just a quick set of clips to answer the main question people seem to be asking. Besides, i'd be hard pressed to make a video that has a form of artificial intelligence that wants to make people buy pads. Closest i think we'll be able to do for the next video is releasing a video that makes people want to buy pads. I would have liked to do some riding on natural for initial clips but unfortunately we were being asked the aforementioned question on their vocal abilities and a lot of people disregard natural riding if street stuff is also available (easier to relate to street i guess).

Hi and welcome. You are most certainly right about the frame holding you back, that thing is massive. If you've got any of the versions over 14" (seat tube measurement) then you'll find the large frame restricts your movement a fair amount. I think a really good idea might be to keep and eye out in the FS/WTD sections for a cheap second hand frame, something like a base for a seated frame or one of the slightly older deng (makes echo, adamant, GU etc) frames if you can live without one. You can always fit your wheels and bars etc to the new frame and you'll progress very fast with a better suited geometry. And as with everything else, trials is just about practise, so keep riding and you'll soon get better and once your into pedal hopping everything else follws a lot more rapidly.
