  1. Am I not right in believing the vt8327 is not the best solution, Surely leaving the SATA duties to a dedicated controller rather than the 8237, which had SATA as an after thought. I have the vt8237 controlling a Raid0 setup of 2 Maxtor 80gb drives. The Performance is DIRE! Worse than my 5400rpm IDE setup! After a little research it would appear that its a 'slight' conflict between the controller and the maxtor drives, doh! Ive been regularly checking for bios updates... but with no luck! Oh well, enjoy the computers new 'wheezing' noise thanks to the raptor. Umm.. 10k drive :)
  2. Last year was my first year driving. CIS was cheapest, at £1100 odd for a group 2 car, went to a group 3 car only increased by £50. After 1st years driving hassle free, I expected my 'Big Drop'. Only to find that they took off about £150, so around about £900.. great! After some hunting I found Norwich Union to be cheapest at £670, Thats for a group 6 car :P , with 'non-mfr alloys' :P , and three points :P . (20yr old, TPFT, Licence - 1yr, 1yr NCD) So Norwich Union did well and truely 'Quote you happy'.
  3. Main differences, to my knowledge; + Current accounts receive a regular monthly statement of transactions. + Savings accounts a have a 'higher' rate of interest. + I dont think you get a card of any kind with savings accounts. So using my skills of deduction, I presume its a current account dear boy.
  4. Too true. Commonrail, is a technology, not a trademark. Peeps should also get the idea outa their head that a bigger engine always equals faster performance. My 1.8 Pug (8V) is a lot slower off the mark than a modern Corsa, or Punto 1.2 16v, but not 8v. All to do with powerbands (I believe). To gain maximum performance out of 2days pocket rockets you have to remain within the powerband. Usually fairly high revs isn't it? Where as my old lump will pull from 25mph in 5th (with a delicate foot) all the way to 125+ but it won't do it quickly. Its just tuned for versatility + comfort. Kinda like driving a diesel, if only I had the same fuel economy as in my 1.9D Pug.
  5. I have a M reg Pug 306 Sedan SR. This is my second Sedan, 1st one being a 1.9 Diesel. It's a 1.8, yet only group 6 (£620 - 1yr NCD + 1 SP30) Goes well, the acceleration isn't great but its ability to hold at high speeds is good plus it'll pull from as little as 30 in 5th! I love my Pug! and a bargain at £650!
